1983 is when my Great Uncle used to put Ueck on the radio when I was 5. Now I’m 41 and still I am privileged enough to listen to Bob. The absolute best. Even got to hear Bob Uecker and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan call an inning once where Heenan was wondering why Molitor didn’t drop kick the Twins catcher. #memories
some day I hope he gets call a brewers worlds series win b.c he deserves it after all the up and down the brewers have went through from their world series appearance in 82 to their 1983-2007 playoff drought to their 2011 nlcs appearance and 2012-2017 playoff drought.
I remember Uecker at the Philies in 64. He was mostly a bullpen catcher. But, he would wave the towel when the ball was going to hit the fence. Just great stuff.
That was a cool call. I really never knew who Bob Uecker was, since I don't usually follow Brewers baseball, but now I see that he's a brilliant announcer. For some reason, I really liked that pause right after the last out - its going to be played... easily by...… David Freese. There was a coyness and cleverness to that part of the call somehow - he made me think that for a moment he might have not been sure who the player was who made that play, but then he finishes it off with that look to John Smoltz when he announces Freese's name. Now, if Joe and John Smoltz could somehow convince Vin Scully to come the studio to do an interview and have him call a half inning that would really be something.
Bob Uecker is so much more than just Brewers Baseball! Numerous appearances on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show the Major League Movies and Mr Belvedere to boot! Absolutely one of the funniest Humans their is. A damn good announcer and was a terrible baseball player as he loves to point out. They don't make them like Uecker anymore!
@@dairylandsportswi I'm from south of the border, Illinois. So no I'm not from around Milwaukee or anywhere in Wisconsin. I'm originally from Chicago, I worshipped Harry Caray, In a way, I would say Bob is the Harry of Milwaukee.
I really hope the Brewers can win a world series during Uecker's lifetime. He's been with the team so long and deserves to see that more than anyone
We need Bob Uecker and Vin Scully to call a World Series game. We need this.
Uecker and Smoltz
Bob Uecker to Milwaukee is what Harry Caray was to Chicago, a legend, both are broadcasting legends in their own right.

If Bob Uecker and Vin Scully could just call one game together, the world would be at peace for about 3 hours
Love Bob Uecker 💙💛 the sound of summer in Wisconsin
Best Uecker line of all time: I was a pretty good drag bunter...but I did pretty well without the dress on as well
That was awesome! Mr. Ueker is a national treasure.
