Nothing wrong with it being a long video...your commentary went along with the entire video, otherwise that would have killed it for me. Inciteful with the season starting up here in a couple weeks. Great work!
hella good graphics and race video. More like this! 10 to 12 minutes is perfect in lenght. This wasnt boring at all, loved it. Keep up the great content!
These are not boring!!! I want to get into racing. I'm gaining a lot of knowledge from watching your videos. Learning the tactics and seeing how fit these riders are. So much fun!
this is the best breakdown of a crit...the thought process amazing for a noob like me. power meter would be good to relate to what the break was like, what it took to close etc. but plenty more format like this in the future, brilliant, especially the graphics below. so cool.
Love the race videos! My heart was beating out of my chest just watching the last few laps. Really liked the breakaway graphics, it helps you keep track of whats going on and like others said, try and get your HR/power on!
Totally bro, but my power meter turned off every single lap. So frustrating. So the only data I could show for this race was the little break away button things that I spent an ungodly amount of time doing lol. The next races will have full power data and all that.
I love these race videos. This is my first year racing bikes, so I am trying to soak up as many racing videos as I can find. Also the length is great. A sixteen minute video is definitely not too long in my opinion. Keep up the great work!
What's so funny is that I was sitting here stressing out about how long this video was and how no one was going to like it. And then your first comment is positive and about the length . Instantly making me feel good lol
The advantage with the longer video's is that you can take your time to explain things and that the viewers can take the time to take in the information. I watch livestreams of other youtubers which are 3h+ long, so I can handle 12 minutes! I guess a fair amount of the fans do too. I ought to go to sleep now, but I was watching some of your other videos!
Not long or boring, right length and interesting. You should coordinate the colours of the rider dots to show teams next time, though. I gotta say i'm pretty envious of being able to run training crits in mid january though, snow and 18-25 fahrenheit in Denmark atm. Great content mate, keep it up!
doooooopeeee!!! no. 70 has good form... good fundamental rider... dude that ended up winning def. timed that last sprint perfectly... and came outta nowhere... woulda caught me by surprise i know that... had to of been in the 53-11 the way he just skirted away...
thanks so much for this! I love the layout. It's good to have the lil diagram at the bottom with the narration. Speaking of the narration: it was great because I felt like i learned something about racing wisely. Keep it coming...piece
This is such great information for a new rider, like me. If you get a sudden bump in views it's definitely watch ALL of our videos. Good stuff. Keep it up!
That's so funny bro, cause I stressed so hard that I thought it was way to long. But i couldn't cut anything out really , it was an event filled race for sure.
I discovered this channel a few days ago and really enjoy all of your videos! I'm a young cyclist who struggles with racing simply because I'm u16, where your either a man or a boy...any advice? Thanks in advance!
Perfect timing. My 2nd crit ever will be next week after the fail of my first race where I only had the small ring on the front coz british cycling U16 Rules and a screw that was too short
We have that here also, they limit juniors gearing. I was in a race once with an awesome Jr and in the tail wind section we were going 35 mph but his gearing was limited so he got flicked within the first 5 minutes of the race. Good luck on your race, let me know how it goes.
For sure. I haven't received my new team kit yet, but the color scheme isn't dope baby blue. It's more of a sad grey and an old man maroon. Currently I am running a non team kit from eliel which I love.
Awesome! Not "too long" or "too boring", it was great to watch and listen to your commentary. What is your next race? Are you doing the Cal Aggie Crit in Sacramento?
I will for sure be at the Sacramento criterium, so if you're there make sure to find me and say what's up. Last year it was my first p12 race and I wrecked 30 seconds in lol
+The Vegan Cyclist Im sure p/1/2(/3) crits are hard as hell. It would be cool to see all your power/HR/etc data in your videos. You can use this: www.dashware.net/. Garmin virb and gopro software have these overlays available too. My race is 5 hours earlier than yours (cat4), so I'm not sure if I will still be around to say hi, but will definitely do when I see you :)
Hi, I have some questions on you. When ridings these crits: 1) what is the range of lap lenght? 2) how long does an average race take (kilometres and hours) 3) how does organizers track the order in finish? 4) what is an average entry fee? 5) how many riders participate in an average race? I am trying to convert this IDEA of criteriums in some kind of form in our country (Czech Republic), so answers would be very helpful for me. In our first season we organize 4 races on 4 different circuits. Thanks for any help. With regards, JK Yup!
Jan Krsek I'll give it a go. I'm "the fulton guy" in the video. 1. Races are normally between 1 km and 1.5km in length. 2. Races are normally 1 hour for higher catagories and as short as 30 minutes for the lowest catagories. 3. Finishes are filmed. I'm not sure exactly how they do it. 4. Races are normally between $25 and $50. But everything is expensive here. I think it reflects how much work is involved. 5. Limit is normally 75 or 100 per race. In our area we typically get 20-40. There are normally 5 to 1p races throughout the day (all different catagories) For more info check out the usa cycling website
I don't understand why it would be bad team tactics to stay on the coretech guy's wheel when your teammate attacks. Seems like then you run the opportunity of have a 2v1 break where you and the teammate could just attack coretech guy over and over till one of you is off the front
+Robert Turpin The problem is that I am filling a hole. Someone chases me, someone chases them, then its just strung out. So if I dont stick on the dudes wheel, and let a gap open, then (1) I stop using energy and everyone else has to use more to fill the gap. (2) nobody fills the gap and they get away. (3) By having a 2v1 break, the lone guy may not work since he knows he is smoked, and the field will chase harder because of there being 2 guys from the same team up the road. Hope that helps bro, thanks for the support!
The Vegan Cyclist I was just going to ask the same question. Loved your clear response. thanks for taking the time to break these races down, I've learnt more from you than anything I've read or watched in the last 2 yrs since I started cycling. thanks man.
Yea, it's funny because when he was first starting out I actually grabbed his wheel on an bridge effort, didn't help him pull, then attacked him to bridge the gap, helped the break ride away from him, and won the race. I did him so dirty and now he is super legit. #karma
not boring at all dude! I really enjoyed this :)
Wow, this play by play really opens my eyes cycling tactics, really enjoyed it.
Nothing wrong with it being a long video...your commentary went along with the entire video, otherwise that would have killed it for me. Inciteful with the season starting up here in a couple weeks. Great work!
It is not too long. I really like watching the racing and the explanation
Good job

Love the race videos! My heart was beating out of my chest just watching the last few laps. Really liked the breakaway graphics, it helps you keep track of whats going on and like others said, try and get your HR/power on!
Hey,
Awesome layout man!! But you could also include power and hr data. I atleast enjoy seeing that data.
Totally bro, but my power meter turned off every single lap. So frustrating. So the only data I could show for this race was the little break away button things that I spent an ungodly amount of time doing lol. The next races will have full power data and all that.
okay, awesome!
I love these race videos. This is my first year racing bikes, so I am trying to soak up as many racing videos as I can find. Also the length is great. A sixteen minute video is definitely not too long in my opinion. Keep up the great work!
I really like that you make longer vids for a whole race =]
What's so funny is that I was sitting here stressing out about how long this video was and how no one was going to like it. And then your first comment is positive and about the length . Instantly making me feel good lol

Perfect length for the video, well explained, well paced! Congrats on the 2nd place
Loved the the break away buttons, very clever. Great race too, would love to see more.
Wow, this was really eye-opening and interesting. I need more! hehe, keep it up bro.
no its not boring man keep up the great commentary races like this..we want more of your races
Awesome video, loving the graphics. Really good to see your team tactics pay off.
The lower overlay is awesome. Great work dude!
Awesome stuff. Great race and teamwork. Love this kind of content. Thumbs up.

Great aggressive race... love your riding and your content mate. Thank You
love watching crits. hate racing crits. keep up the high q content dude!
That was a great video! The graphics at the bottom were a great addition to your narration.
doooooopeeee!!! no. 70 has good form... good fundamental rider... dude that ended up winning def. timed that last sprint perfectly... and came outta nowhere... woulda caught me by surprise i know that... had to of been in the 53-11 the way he just skirted away...

Great breakdown. Cool graphics. Nice job. Enjoyed!
Super cool layout and even cool video in general!
This is such great information for a new rider, like me. If you get a sudden bump in views it's definitely watch ALL of our videos. Good stuff. Keep it up!
Great vid. mate! I really liked the little button display and there's nothing wrong with the length :)))
Longer vids like this are the way too go!!! shorter 1-3min vids almost piss me off. cant even finish my sandwich by the time their done
That's so funny bro, cause I stressed so hard that I thought it was way to long. But i couldn't cut anything out really , it was an event filled race for sure.
another great video man! i like the graphics you include
Got really exciting at the end. Nice race.
Awesome stuff, once again. Love the comments. But like others, I'd love to see HR and Power.
My my power meter kept shutting off every five minutes or so, so hopefully I can get that fixed and run a power overlay on the next one
I love these breakdowns. Thanks!
Yeah that video was sick ! Plenty more of those with power, HR and speed please.
I discovered this channel a few days ago and really enjoy all of your videos! I'm a young cyclist who struggles with racing simply because I'm u16, where your either a man or a boy...any advice? Thanks in advance!
Good stuff - well done and enjoyed the watch
Loving these videos!
Excellent stuff!
Congrats on 2nd place!! Im with the guys make some longer vids bro...
That's a great result for soo early in the year!
so close. quality videos. well done

Amazing insight. More please!
No not boring, fabtastic keep them coming😊

+The Vegan Cyclist Thanks, Sure will
The Vegan Cyclist should I give training a break for a couple days b4 a race or does it not really matter?
16 mins are so damn fine..we want longer man haha
that cortex kit is sick - brah and the limitless one!
For sure. I haven't received my new team kit yet, but the color scheme isn't dope baby blue. It's more of a sad grey and an old man maroon. Currently I am running a non team kit from eliel which I love.
+The Vegan Cyclist yeah it looks sick - I love the blues but that classic look you will have will be super sweet
I wish I could have designed our team kit, because the grey and maroon just don't look very good. And you can't win if you don't look good lol
+The Vegan Cyclist throw in some sick socks and you will be fine 'the socks makith the kit'
Awesome! Not "too long" or "too boring", it was great to watch and listen to your commentary. What is your next race? Are you doing the Cal Aggie Crit in Sacramento?

I'm sure you've answered these questions a million times but I'm new to your page.. What CAT are you? Also what bike are you riding?
Dude! sick
Awesome dude.
Learning from your videos. Thanks!
Beast mode 🎖
not boring. good stuff ;D
Tied with GCN for best cycling channel on UA-cam. Probably on the earth also.
great break down.

Awesome awesome awesome video
Really like this race breakdown thing, learn heaps about race tactics
killer video!
good job! keep it up

It does. I didn't realize there were people on your wheel. The 2v1 break explanation is an interesting point I hadn't considered.
The Vegan Cyclist I was just going to ask the same question. Loved your clear response. thanks for taking the time to break these races down, I've learnt more from you than anything I've read or watched in the last 2 yrs since I started cycling. thanks man.
Great video. Would be next level with metrics laid over it.
Can you include Garmin data too?
Love it!!!
What do dates do?
Fill me up:) they are easy to eat, easy to carry, quick energy.
jourdan Ruffino?
Yea, it's funny because when he was first starting out I actually grabbed his wheel on an bridge effort, didn't help him pull, then attacked him to bridge the gap, helped the break ride away from him, and won the race. I did him so dirty and now he is super legit. #karma
Haha. Now you got like Remy that can help put some serious power down on the road with you
