Hello Rebecca. I loved watching the movie about Beatric‘s Potter and how Peter rabbit and all of the other characters came to life. The trials she faced being a woman during that time & wanting to be an author for children’s books. My how times have changed over all of these years. Thank you for reading me to sleep after a long 14 hour shift. Always loved this story. I remember as a young child my oldest sister reading me stories from the large Mother Goose book we had. That & one called “To much noise”. She read that so many times even at 48 I can remember almost all of the words to the story. Hope you have an amazing rest of your day. ♥️♥️♥️
Good to hear from you Nikki! You have very distinct and wonderful memories. I had that other book. Mother Goose fairytales. It was red on the outside. I don’t think I had anybody read me stories. My mom had five children so she didn’t come to each room to read. But often times my father would read a book to the family around the dining table. Not story books. Real drama. I hope you get some rest after your long shift. Take care yourself. 😘
When I do my midnight feedings with my newborn, we both listen to you and fall asleep together. Yours is the only ASMR she doesn’t mind listening to. She knows a good AMSR video at 3 weeks old! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg how crazy is it that I just read the first story for the first time LAST night to my 5 month old! Last night was the first night I added reading a book before bedtime ! Craaaazzzzy!! Anyways, I thought it was quite ... Interesting... Dad was baked into a pie and then in the end the bunny doesn't feel well. I was like.. ok kiddo go to bed now haha. This was nice, though.. relaxing. Thank you!
Omg, fantastic! May your five-month-old come to love reading for the rest of his/her life. A parent/other loved ones reading regularly to a young child can make all the difference in a child's life. At only five months, he/she is off the races. Great job!
my favorite bedtime story!! my mama used to read this at bedtime. thank you, i watch bedtime asmr every night, there’s hardly any so i rewatch them. yours are my favorite, i have them all in a playlist with some other channels too ❤️ excited for a new one to add :)
Oh that’s wonderful! I thought there would be A lot more out there. Well, probably a lot of them were taken down during the time that UA-cam was alerted to the COPPA laws and the artists had a big scare. I know I took a few of mine down. But now I am able to do them again as long as I alert UA-cam that these videos are not meant for children. The other thing is that bedtime stories don’t make very much money for the artist. Not the most popular video style.
Ahh, Peter Rabbit. I cannot actually remember any of the stories, but I remember reading Peter Rabbit books when I was a kid, or at least having books read to me. Peter Rabbit, Winnie the Pooh, and of course Dr. Seuss. Oh, and that reminds me: I had a Teddy Ruxpin and thought that was the coolest thing ever. What a shame it was when my cousins decided to get into a fight and fell on him and knocked one of his eyes out.
Ah yes! You were exposed to all of the best classics, as was I. I own a few Dr. Seuss books. I am looking forward to reading them for a video. Even if it scares away a few people. Aww, poor Teddy Ruxpin. Poor Mr. C! 🥹 I wonder where Teddy Ruxpin is today. I never got one of those for my children. Growing up I never would have had the cool toys either. My brothers did! 😄
Well, I wouldn't worry too much about Dr. Seuss scaring people away. Surely it's only a tiny minority of people who fell for the nonsense. I can't imagine what I'd think if I actually encountered such a person in the wild. If they would be scared away by Dr. Seuss then they should probably be spending their time addressing their issues rather than watching ASMR videos. Undoubtedly the same people who told us that Dr. Seuss is racist will next be telling us what a racist Peter Rabbit is! (And he's probably a misogynist and homophobe, too!) As for Teddy Ruxpin, I remember thinking he was basically the coolest thing ever. He was a bear that talked and blinked and told you stories. I'm sure that in the same way kids tend to half-believe that their stuffed animals are living creatures and are really their friends, I half-believed that Teddy Ruxpin was a real bear. From a technological standpoint he was genuinely impressive. I wonder what kids today would think of him. In this computer age something tells me they'd be less impressed, but I have to think that even now really young kids would still want a bear that moves and talks and tells them stories. On a parting note, regarding Beatrix Potter, I remember that a movie came out a handful of years ago called Miss Potter with Renee Zellweger in the title role. It's been a long time since I saw it, but I watched it and remember thinking that it was a charming little film (albeit less focused on her writing than I expected).
I know what you mean about kids possibly scoffing at such a toy. I think they’d still like it but some would probably not care. My own granddaughter now has a glowing alarm clock that tells her bedtime stories. I was impressed with it. But I still think it should be housed in a teddy bear. 😉 🧸
What a pretty book! I have several similar books saved from 35 years ago when my kids were little. They're still in excellent condition. I love when it's story time with you Rebecca. Your voice is so soft my sweet friend 🤗💜💕💤😴
I think it’s so cool that you hold onto your memorabilia. I’m sure you plan on passing it on. Your children will be so happy about it. Thank you Lana. 😘
This is absolutely wonderful, Rebecca! I’m just getting ready to settle down to sleep and I’m feeling so cozy and nostalgic as I’m about to be read to. This book is also gorgeous. Love the art style and illustrations!
Great to revisit these stories! My personal favourite was always the tale about Squirrel Nutkin's tail, such a naughty, funny character. And such a funny and fitting ending, too, given how much he pushed his luck with Old Mr Brown! I'm sure that being left with a tailless bottom taught him not to be so cheeky or conceited after that, haha.
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Haha, thanks! ^^ Well, a pun would be fitting to be fair, with all the wordplay in the story. I also liked the funny (kind of) sequel Beatrix Potter wrote to this story in her "miniature letters", with Nutkin writing letters to Old Mr Brown asking for his tail back.
I've seen "Miss Potter" with Renee Zellweger on tv and it was very touching...brilliant lady with so vivid imagination....lovely video Rebecca, beautiful book and so good to hear your warm voice!!🤗♥💕
Thank you so much for this video! I love Peter rabbit so much I even went and got a tattoo of him ❤️ it means a lot to me since my mom gifted me a book similar to this one when I was little and it was my favourite book 🥰
Adorable, blue-suited bunny. May I ask from where it was obtained? I've been looking for just the right kind of teddy bear for years. My search for one continues. But the design details of you rabbit friend looks exactly what I picture of the kind of teddy bear I hope to find.
This bunny was given to me from the same subscriber who sent me the book. I believe the bunny comes along with the purchase of the book because it is actually a Peter rabbit stuffed toy.
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Thanks, Rebecca. That's what I thought, but didn't want to assume. If you had mentioned that in the video, please pardon me if I missed it. What lovely gifts from your subscriber.
Are you serious?! I just mentioned Beatrix Potter books in a comment last night to one of Rebecca's library videos. That was before this video was posted. And, I can see, I'm not the only one here who seems to be on the same frequency. Wow. Coincidence? No coincidence?
