  • White Plains were a moderate success in the early '70s...but they didn't exactly leave one with an earth-shattering performance...Clodagh, on the other hand, managed 3 top ten hits out of the 7 singles she released.

Was it me, but when Clodagh started to sing, did quite a few men make their way forward to get a better view of the lovely lady.

Great to see this. Can you give me an idea when this was broadcast? I look after Clodagh's archive and it would be useful to know. What was the programme actually called. I'm thinking it was Channel 4?

The first series (made up of 6 episodes) was shown on Thames/ITV from January 6 - February 17, 1981. This episode is the last of series 2 (made up of 20 episodes), shown on Channel 4. It went out on March 31, 1983. The 20 episodes were shown consecutively from November 9, 1982, with the exception of December 28, 1982, when the show had a week's break. The second Channel 4 series (series 3) aired shortly after, with 9 episodes shown from 8 July - 2 September 1983. There were then two Christmas Special episodes shown on December 30 & 31, 1983. A final series returned on Channel 4 with 8 episodes from 25 January - 15 March, 1986, but featured more American artists. Clodagh lip synched to two tracks she recorded specifically for the show with new arrangements. Both tracks were then pirated and released commercially without her consent.

Not aware that Clodagh ever did a talent show. She was a guest judge one week on an episode of an ITV children's talent show early 1970's.
