Damn Im both envious and impressed. I had to grown mine for 8 yrs and she is getting hers overnight.
But the skill and it took to pull this off is amazing and takes me back to my weave wearing days, where the goal was always to make the fake/not grown by yourself hair look real.
Thats the idea behind weave IMO to make it look like its yours and that was done flawlessly here.

@@garyp5491 Locs are an accumulation of shed hair...shit that will fall out of your head if you didn't twist it back in. I know folk who couldn't retain any length until they got locs. No need to be holier than thou about that. So are locs "real hair growth". Should I hate locs because I have to work harder to maintain length of my natural hair instead of "cheating" by trapping my shed hair to retain length? If a person chooses to not wait years to accumulate shed hair that's their perogative. Why would anyone else care.

They look good! I just got mine today and they look amazing. I was hesitant at first, but you really cant tell the difference since they are dreaded. For guys, I recommend that you cut less than an inch where your hairline is so that you can protect your hairline from receding if it's not already hereditary. But it does look great and you can go from those short stumpy locks to something semi-permanent while you're growing.

I'm planning on getting loc extensions done in a few weeks. My locs are about 6 months old and they've grown quite a bit from when I first started but I really like that length and being able to do styles with them until my own locs get longer. This video was really informative

I don’t knock anyone getting extensions but you definitely have a different appreciation for your own locks growing them yourself.

I'm glad I came across this video. I seriously respect all those who go through the complete journey. My hair is about half an inch short and I really don't like how gel twists look on me. I don't want to start my locs with gel twists, so I'm think about this method once my hair grows out a bit more.

To insure proper part to loc ratio of someone who can't come in for a consultation first (an out of townie) would you recommend not coming in pre parted? Keep up the amazing work!
That’s handled during consultation and during the appt. You can come pre parted but if the parts are wrong it would cost to redo them.

I had no idea this process existed. Looks very real. I love it. I have starter loc coils that are at least 8 inches long and just over a month old. Can this process be done to hair like mine? Are you pulling the natural hair all the way through the loc or just half way, with the hook.🤔 Thanks for the video and i hope to hear back soon☺

You can dye your dread and extensions at the same time. I do that for over 2 years
Wow you did a great job, like really really good. Now I understand why people ask me if my locs are real, I used to get so annoyed. But now I understand why, depending on who does it, it's hard to differentiate the two. Nothing is wrong with it nevertheless, I probably would've taken this route too if I had known lol.

I’m wondering if the crochet needle damages the natural loc though? I think the crochet method looks the most natural for extensions, but none of the stylists I’ve been to use that method. I recently had a few locs repaired and extended, but I’m not happy with the way they look. These look great!

Amazing job as always!! I’ve been locked for 8 months now with permanent loc extensions i made myself. I notice when my hair gets wet it is VERY soft. Is that the norm? do you ever notice that with your clients, and if so, how long does it take for that to stop?
AJAE LOX I had that problem as well with my first set that I did myself. So I took them out. I went to a loctician to get new ones made 2 months ago. I washed them about a week after I got them done and they did not get super soft when wet. They still felt like real locs, just wet. They still felt strong and sturdy and none fell out. I went to Great wolf lodge water park with the fam and got my hair wet all day. My cousin has home grown locs, and feeling hers and mine while wet felt the same. I don’t know how my loctician’s technique of making the locs differed from mine, but hers are more sturdy.
