- taking in jeans, hemming dresses, cropping tops, and making small thrift flip adjustments to finally update all the pieces that have been sitting in my closet for months! this video is basically me forcing myself to complete these little changes, and it was quite therapeutic to have these pieces fit me and my style! thanks for making little changes with big impact on my sustainable wardrobe with me!
thrift flips are my favorite way to update some not so cute thrifted pieces into ready to wear diy sustainable cuties. today I thrifted some gorgeous quilts, and decided to chop them up, sew them together and create some one-of-a-kind works of art! it may be my best thrift flip yet, enjoy!

This video is like a master class in how clothes look good when they FIT
truth!
I have many items I need to FIT, refit?!
That check dress is gorgeous. How I wish I was young and slim again. These styles just look frumpy on me now. When we're younger, we don't realise how precious our 20s are...Enjoy enjoy enjoy your youth, if its within your power.
@@pennybergmen8933 what age are you?
To someone that is learning to sew, this looks like magic.
haha honestly it still looks like magic to me!
Love it!!! I could watch this kind of content all day! Gets my brain working.
That’s exactly what doing any flips does for me! Just gets my creativity going!
Me Too! 😊 🕊 🕯
These all turned out so well. I love the orange dress I’m so glad you just made it fit better and didn’t transform it because it’s so good. The periwinkle sheer dress reminds me of Florence Welch (love her style) and it was so smart to make the skirt so you still have the option to wear it together as a dress. The vintage collar dress was also darling and now fits you so perfectly!
The last dress is so adorable!! The darts in the back are so cute!!
I enjoy your tips in bringing vintage clothes up to date. I use to sew but fabric got too expensive. After watching you I want to dust off my sewing machine and sew.
thank you! you should absolutely get back to some sewing, it's such a fun passtime!
I love the plaid dress! Your thrift flips are the best! You've inspired me to to flip some of my own clothes to make them fit me better
thank you!! yes you should absolutely flip some of your clothes! it's such a confidence boost to put on something that fits super well!
Yey! It's 11:59 pm here. In our country. A good day to watch something fun! As always.. You rock!
ooo yay! always a good time for a flip video!
That plaid dress is fantastic!
it's such a gorgeous dress!
You could make a headband with the excess 7inch fabric to go with the dress. Great inspiration for a beginner. ❤
I think it’s so clever and practical the way you approach your flips
thank you!
The orange trousers 😍 how cute!
Those are my favorite pants!!
OMG that vintage plaid dress is so goregous, especially after you shortened it! And the blue lace collardress is just a dream, I think I'm in love with it!❤❤❤
EEP! those are my faves from this video! so cute!
With every flip I thought “ that’s my favorite”. I love them all !!
2 dress I love the print and the colors! ❤I’d make it just past to the knee cap and wear a petticoat to give fullness and wear it dancing 💃🏼 twirling!! Thanks for showing; I am going to send it out to universe to find one LIKE this.
✍ Hello...I'm so glad I found your channel and subscribed. Its been a while since I've been able to do some sewing. I have been sewing since I was about 10 and I'll be 78 next Tuesday. My favorite way of sewing is exactly what I found you doing to older clothes etc.by making something new out of them. I used to cut down clothes and make school clothes for my girls cause they went to a private school and needed nice clothes so this really helped with the budget. I'm also glad to have found you cause the machine I have right now needs to be replaced cause I bent the needle shaft by sewing denim. I notice you use a Singer model 4452 and that you sewed denim with ease so I'm having my daughter take me to buy that same machine. I'm super excited to get sewing again. Keep Sewing !! God Bless Bye from Ohio
That purple dress is a wonderful, frilly, princessy, magical dress--love it!
so adorable!
Excellent job on your upcycles!!!! They look absolutely gorgeous 😍.
Thanks!
These are so fun!! Have you considered using elastic on a section of the back waist line on the pants instead of darts?
They can stretch and adjust over time. My mom did this for some of my pants and it's incredibly!!
I love your videos! I'm in Brazil and I've never shopped in a thrift store, but since I watched your videos I changed my mind! Love you!
Really enjoy your way of presentation, content and teaching. I’ll be watching more since I just found you. 👩🏼🌾🌸💕
Great flips !!! Girl, you know your way around a sewing machine....wish I did😅!!! Hope you have a great weekend !🐕🦮
thank you!! I really only know a few stitches, understanding clothing construction has helped me the most on my sewing journey!
When possible, please do more videos like this.
👍🏼
She's doing those vids all the time 🤔
@@mone1648really?! Oh my I thought this was a lot of items and I am not a experienced sew 🪡 I guess this is a way to get more confidence. 🎊 I subscribed…/ now to get a better sewing machine.
This was so intelligent and intentional i really appreciate seeing your thought process and enjoyed this video as a fellow sewer. Can't wait for the next one.
love the golden Grecian dress and the back of the blue dress with the tucks.
thanks!
Great job. My favorite one was the plaid dress. Everything turned out so well!! I am in awe at the level of sewing skills you have!!
WOW!
Keep up the good work!
thank you!!
I have been a fan from the day I found you about 2 yrs ago and adore the way you present everything. I am sad to see you go, yet understand that it's really important for us to follow our spirit and after contemplation, do what's best for us at that time. Farewell for not, it's not goodbye, because nothing says you cant toss out a video anytime you want to. I will never be able to do what I've seen you do yet I will try. You can wear ay color, any style, and I've never seen anybody wear clothes like you do. Tank you for your lessons, I want to raid your closet, but will try to follow your videos for the rest of my life and see how we do.
You are very talented!! Adorable!
Love that you used the chopped bit as a belt for the voluminous orange dress... makes me want to get to my alteration pile!
Thank you!
Great job on all of the pieces, especially the blue dress.
thank you!
Wow...great job on the blue dress!!
thank you! i was surprised it turned out so wonderfully haha
@@WellLoved You inspire me to try and do more alterations. I usually just do a few tarts or a hem
You make altering so easy…well, look so easy. On thrifted items, wouldn’t be a huge loss if i cannot make it work. Thanks.
it's super easy and sustainable!
You are adorable! I love your attitude and your style.
Thanks!
The last blue dress I love…… it’s adorable
It’s my new favorite dress!
I love the reinventing of the clothes
me too!
You’re a very clever girl - love vintage- best fabrics and designs……love that beautiful little puppy beagle 🥰
Thanks so much!
Watched this while altering some red & black plaid pants. Look forward to your Friday videos. The blue dress is so sweet like a maid may have worn years ago. Well done as usual! 👍
yay for videos to watch while doing alterations! i LOVE the blue dress!
I love your videos! You are adorable! I am so inspired to get out some of my thrift store finds that aren't quite right! Thx!
OMG that plaid dress 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Right?? My fave!
Hi there!
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL I can really get hooked and promise to try to self-limit when watching! You are so detailed and thorough I get inspired to try my hand!
Ive been all about plaid for the last 2 or 3 years. I had ordered a pair of narrow, ankle length, plaid pants, with a jean-like waist, 4 pockets, etc. The plaid is similar to the red plaid pattern of the dress you have here, but smaller, and just a hint of white.
However.............I ordered what I thought was a women's size 24, but they turned out to be a size 24 INCH waistband........2 VERY different sizes! I loved the fabric, and they weren't expensive, so I kept them. The 24 was too big, but was the only size close, and I was willing to take them in due to their cuteness.
I had also gained weight taking care of my dear, late, 96 yo, mom, and have dropped à couple of sizes. I had always been a size 4 or 6, but took a necessary medication several years ago that caused me to gain weight, and even though there was a lot of physical work taking care of my mom, there was also a lot of sitting around, (and getting by on Twinkies, which unfortunately, I found you can buy in bulk at Costco, conveniently, individually wrapped), so I put on more weight. I was about a size 18.........yikes! BUTT, I didn't get a big one, and I have slim legs. I kind of gained weight everywhere, but more upper-body.
Anyway, I didn't ever expect to have a 24 inch waist like when I was 9, but I'm now at about a 10/12. Much better.
So, I injured both feet.......don't ask. I'm sitting around, again, and started looking through things. I found my Dior, glasses! Ask me how long they were missing? 7 years. LOL! I also ran across the plaid pants.
I'm not what you'd call a .........,,seamstress, but I'm a good engineer, and I wanted to get some use out of those pants. They weren't expensive, so I wasn't really that worried about ruining them.
I was thinking about elastic vents, even lacing up the sides with a solid fabric under, but I decided there was no-way lacing would NOT make me look like a 60 yo former stripper.
I inspected them and have decided to turn them into walking shorts, but that would mean expanding about 4 inches on each side. I will have to extend to upper-thigh, but I have enough fabric using both legs. I'm thinking MAYBE I could KIND of try to match plaid lines, if not, maybe intentionally wonky......Oh! The fabric has a lot of stretch!
Anyway, it will take up some time while I'm recovering. They won't have to win any awards, and I could wear a big t-shirt?.......
Thank you SO much, my dear! I have something to look forward to every day watching your show! I'm NOT back on the Twinkies! I now enjoy low-fat Cheezeits!
Aww I'm so glad you're loving my channel! funny getting sizes mixed up like that! I hope you recover quickly!
The plaid dress looks great 😍
If you decide you want to change it up again, it would make a beautiful wide leg jump suit
thank you! it would be such a cute jumpsuit, its just too perfect as a dress!
I love watching you go through the steps( good inspo), I have a set of thrifted finds I need to get to as well!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed!!
i love the dress...........the wholly jeans not so much........i loved the green pants set until you cropped it.....didnt hold the vintage for me,,,,,,,,,super cute orange dress.....i love the sheer skirt and top .....great job on that .........love the orange pants.....omgosh i love the blue dress .....you are so talented loved watching you.....thanks for sharing
thanks for sharing your preferences, but i made these adjustments to fit my style! thanks for watching!
I was curious to see what the back pockets on that first pair of jeans would do. I did the same alteration on some jeans last year, but in my case they were WAY too big. The result was that the pockets stood out like they were going to collect rainwater. I had to take the pockets off completely and sew them down flat.
...maybe sew an inch or two of elastic on the backside center of the pocket and hide the stitching with a decorative patch?
in that case i definitely would have removed them and laid them back flat, but since i was only taking out an inch or two, they didnt stand out too badly at all!
Used To always let out all seams on top to make room for larger bust. Had tiny seams w double knit and it worked w out ruining the dress lines
Great video! Really enjoyed the little changes that made a big difference. Will be trying some of these tailoring tricks. Really loved the orange trousers and the lilac overlay dress. Actually, I love all your clothes!❤️🙂
Everything looks great, what a difference small adjustments make
Thank you! Agreed!
Love the Orange pants and the Blue dress at the end. Good information. Minor changes that make a big difference!
Those are my favorite kinds of changes!
I love your thrift flips. My favorites here were the orange pants and the last dress.
Love that last dress so much!!
same!!

Ohh yes those red hot pants 👖 and the last vintage dress 👗 love all you did.

Love seeing your creativity in action! That plaid dress is so perfect I’m glad you kept the sleeves versatile like that it’s just perfection!
Now that’s it’s my favorite length, I’ll wear it all the time!! I’m glad you enjoyed this video!
You are a genius!! Love what you do! You’ve given me a new way of seeing how to refashion clothes. Thanks!
aww thank you!!
Lovely flips! Use the green and plaid offcuts to make matching scrunchies or hair wraps? ☺️
Great idea!
I've only just found your videos but you've already inspired me so much! ❤
And that plaid dress, OMG I would love to know what make that is? I need to hunt one of those down!
Great job! You look amazing in every piece
thank you!
Everything turned out beautifully. I am inspired to now fix a couple if problem children
Haha yes! Thank you!
First time I watched ur video and love it. I wasn't sure about using darts. Now I feel better about it and will implement it. Thanks
aww thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! Darts are my favorite technique to fit my pieces!
Love all of the reimagined pieces!
Thank you!!
Yay👋👋
Love to watch your sewing and modeling clothes.
👏👏👏🤟
🧡
LOVE YOUR CLOTHES ❤️ !! 👰♀
THX for having these videos, I am needing to Alter, many pieces of clothing, these are helping!
thank you! oh good i'm glad these videos are helping your alterations!
Just some decent tailoring and WoW ALL THE ITEMS LOOKED GREAT!!
tailoring changes everything!
Gurl you got skills! All of your pieces fit you so well, i luv all of them...that lavender sheer dress is amazing, the orange trousers too. They all look so good on you. I wish i had your sewing talent and creativity, I'm learning how to sew but its a very slow learning process and i have soo many clothes that need alterations since i lost weight. Thank you for showing us that a little magic with your sewing machine can really make a big difference! This kind of content really has inspired me to do the same! Gracie bella!💖🦋
Love the orange dress! I wonder whether you could buy a decorative buckle or brooch to slip over the belt, or pin onto it
I actually have a large leather belt with a gold buckle that’s cute with it too!
You are so clever!! Love your work!! I totally agree Your! Your outfits are sooo cute!
Thank you!!
Great transformations!! I'll never try any of these techniques. You make it look easy and intuitive, but i know you have some serious skills, which I don't have. Keep the videos coming.
thank you! they're actually super easy single stitch updates that anyone could easily do with a machine!
@@WellLoved it's knowing WHERE to cut and stitch and HOW MUCH to cut and stitch that takes the skill. But I like watching your process.
You are genius and SO helpful! Just the training I need. It would be so helpful to see all the way down to the floor, please!
thank you!!
Oh for the jeans and the blue dress I would have just added an elastic in the back, when its just a few inches it looks more natural than the darts or at least it did for the jeans I did the elastic add on : p
Love your work, love your style!
So glad I found you, your creativity is inspiring.
Thank you!! I’m glad you’re here!
The plaid dress was my dream the way it was in the "before"! I love a dress with a LONG skirt! However, it definitely suits you better at the shorter length! 👍
i definitely prefer a shorter length, but love the drama of the long!
watching all of these now that I found your channel :)
YAY!!
The power of a good fit demostrated
yes and yes, fit changes everything!
The green crop top .. the cut portion can be slightly ruffled & attached back to make a peplum top too .. love your flips ❤️
i thought about doing that, and may end up doing it later!
Your videos are such an inspiration! Thank you! I enjoy your energetic attitude! Laura
I always enjoy watching these. You did a really nice job. You could really elevate the jeans by unpicking the pockets and sewing them back on flat.
i thought about doing that but just too much work for me haha
Just did this, this morning. So glad I found you today! Looking forward to more. 🌻💛🌻
it feels so good to get that pile of fixes done!
Such beautiful pieces. The dresses were my favorite. ❤️❤️
Such good dresses!
I have been sewing for years and can fit a pattern or do all these take in tricks. The problem is I am much older and wider now and really would like some tricks for adding half a size to a size.
Keeping side seams straight and centered is easier with dart in than adding gores
I love the jeans with darts
Thank you!
So awesome !! You did a fantastic job on every piece 💓👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!! I had a ton of fun fixing these up!
Loved, loved your updates! I have a pair of great wool plaid pants which is far too big for me. I'm so inspired to use the dart technique you have shown with your jeans!
Loving the music also ❤
thanks!
An idea for you to show for measuring for people that cant figure out the measurements is show folding the tape measure 4 times. After you show the original then show how to fold the tape to show the darts.. love your channel. Hope this help all of the fraction disabled..lol
thanks!
Loved everything!
thank you!!
Wish I can do this. Amazing...love it.
thank you! and YOU CAN!
Amazing!! Absolutely LOVED this - thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
thank you for sewing with me!
Hello, I'm new here and just subscribed! I too am a seamstress. I love watching you because you have a contagious personality and I just want to see what you do to your outfits! 😊 So exciting! I would personally LOVE if you could give us the price of each item. I think it would really inspire others to try your techniques with some of their upcycled outfits! Looking forward to your next video!! So nice to meet you! 😊
i'm so glad you're here and loving my videos! i don't typically know the prices because these flips are usually on pieces i've had for quite some time and have forgotten the price. thanks for watching!
Such a fun video! So interesting.
Thank you!!
So So Cute .. Simply Lovely ❤ ❤
Really inspired me.
You are a great tailor!!!!
Thank you!
Love your work 🤗
