Just went and listened to the original by Chick Corea and Return to Forever and realized that a big part of what made the guitar part such a different feel was that he was playing the part played on flute. Great version and great instrumental work by the whole band.
Haha, my drummer and bassist are obsessed with that tune, it was kind of THE tune back when I was in jazz school 20 years ago and everyone was super into fusion. I’m learning the Al Jarreau version (I’m a singer) to sing it on Friday for the annual “Fete de la Musique” in Paris (Music Fest), so I was just listening to it and working on it earlier ! This version is killer. Love your comments, so fun to share that with you.
Al did the HECK (pg version) out of that. band used to cover that when it came out. enjoy, it's a blast even if anyone with a hairline doesn't recognize it 😝
You watch the video “distance sessions 2020” by the band Toe. It Was taken during Covid and I think it’s a great “live performance “ for as live as you could get during that time lol. Cheers!
Kendrick brought me here. I'm so glad for that beef with that alleged bad guy. Because not for that, I wouldn't probably would not have found this great channel. Great guy man.
Absolutely. This is what you hope for when you check out a new music-related channel. Michael also reacted to Kendrick's "The Heart, part 5"". I have discovered great bands, amazing performances and valuable insights about performing from him but it is his heart that brings me back.
Michael - if you are new to ‘Spain’ then YOU HAVE TO check out the Paco de Lucia Al di Meola and John McLaughlin version. Blows me away every time I watch it. Insane guitar work. Please check it out.
good lawd, haven't thought about that tour in yonkers. easy to tell the musicians in the audience, kept hearing "f***" *ho** s**t" etc. 😅 hilarious sitting there with 3 dimensional utterings going on all around us 🤣
I don't know that you'd want to react to another version of Spain on channel, but just for yourself, you need to watch this version for guitar duo: ua-cam.com/video/ThkmeQ9c_Ps/v-deo.html The bass solo alone (on 6-string acoustic, no less) is pure otherworldly beauty.
Honestly, I prefer Chick Corea's Elektric Band, if I'm listening to an electric version of this. Chick on piano, Frank Gambale on guitar, John Patitucci on bass, and Dave Weckl on drums. Amazing band...
@@kellygreenii looking back on it - this was listed as standard within a handout 🧐 nerve damages removed my playing so many things I haven't thought about in said 'yonkers' :P but yeah. we all played this. some with perhaps more o.o old man thinking umm alacrity? man... don't do drugs kids 😐 than others but it was a decent introductory to sight reading which stepped out of four on the floor...

So fluid washed with precision. Team of giving everyone their space. Loved it. Not a jazz guy but wow.

South Koreans train musically since very early in their childhood. Spain is one of Chick Corea's best creations.
This was incredible
I really liked that song. Never heard it before
Its Funky, its Fusion, but most importantly - its Fun!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing!! (And everything else!) ❤
Dude, Bela Fleck did this in 1979 on Crossing the Tracks, check it out!
Please tell me someone has requested the short Jeff Daniels performance from the Kelly Clarkson show. Incredible lyrics and story telling

This tune has like...10k covers, love it
I half believed this was going to be a reaction to the song "Spaim" by Botch. That would be wild, hahaha
A THOUSAND EMPTY COORS IS ALL IT TAKES TO MAKE ME DIFFERENT

@@WDRhine thanks man. I'm not a rap fan. Fan of great music.I look forward to this channel.
I know your love for lyrics. Have you listened or reviewed “live oak” by Jason Isabell? Of course there are a lot of guar parts to go over as well

Could someone tell me what that unison chromatic thing was? I’d love to steal it lol
Think pizza with pineapple & anchovy
So you’re not into Fusion? Really took off in the 70’s.
Have you done baby metal?
Please react to mk.gee Dream police (Live)
LOL, jazz guitarist can play this song and you can't, call yourself a guitar teacher LOL.
Bro doesn't know Spain?
