Does an SCR therefore behave similarly to a triode vacuum tube, where, instead of a gate controlling the flow, there is a GRID controlling electron flow?

am i right in saying that this diagram is basically converting A/C in to D/C when both scr's are switched on thus using the full wave on the oscilloscope. great job once more.
Kevin Brain The circuit is controlling AC. One SCR is controlling one half cycle of AC and the other SCR is controlling the other half of the AC. Our another words one SCR is controlling the positive cycle of AC and the other SCR is controlling the negative cycle of AC. Have you ever worked with the old Ford Lincoln Mercury Sequential turn signals? After 1969 they started using SCR's in the sequencer box, I am having a hard time finding the wiring... I think the "flasher"/Large Cap in turn signal circuit creates a switched DC, they use to trigger the SCR, do you have any experience with that use? Just basic theory of triggering with switched DC would help...
I am using a C228B2 as an example. Download the datasheet pdf. First thing is you have to know the voltage you have that is going to be used to drive the gate. Looking at the data sheet I would use MAX 40 ma and MAX 2.5, must not exceed this. MIN gate voltage to drive the gate is 0.2 volts. I would need more in formation. This is just part of the circuit. Can you supply the manufacturer and part number of the CDI? And the motor manufacturer and part number? If I can get the manufacturer information from the manufacturer I'll try and make a video.

This is the entire circuit. Yes this is like a Triac, but with two Gates. Search for Duty Cycle, there is a Triac in the dimmer switch.

Yes with both halves, the current is about double. I did a video on duty cycle, and there is a Tiac and that circuit.
How efficient are they?? Can they be used as a more effective Voltage regulator for instance??
In the high 90 percentile efficient. Usually this configuration is used to vary the duty cycle.
