The ramble/ reflecting on the info is the best part, it helps me digest and process it from a different perspective than my own. Except navy breachers, they are exactly where we think they are; tied for worst team with kroot.😅
Yes, the timing of your video running through the changes was perfect. I was otherwise preoccupied with all of the new Underworlds releases. I had not had a chance to review anyone else’s videos or give more than a cursory glance at the updated PDFs.
I can't believe they changed razor wire and didn't do a better job of changing it. Racking my brains and based on something GHD said, the _'... within 1 inch...'_ is intended as *vertically within* so maybe when doing a jump between high terrain that's above the razor wire it wouldn't count?!
I'm very glad for the clarity from GW on the points you've covered here, but I do feel that these were some pretty glaring issues that could've been cleared up sooner. Great video as always!
Oh hello Mr TI! Hopefully you’re feeling better. I like the change to razor wire. One of the things I saw in ATL was that folks were placing a ladder so you could climb the wall onto the first level of the two-level stronghold, but then also drop off it for free to get over the wall & into the stronghold proper. To quote the TO “you can get off of the ladder whenever you want”.
For Mandrake shadow passage, in 2nd edition you had to start in shadow (e.g. near heavy or underneath vantage), but when 3rd edition came out that starting condition was lost in the pdf. It's now just back to how it originally was so reverts the slight buff that was seemingly unintentional
Interesting, I went back to check videos that reviewed it unamend and they seemed to say you had to be in shadow - but it could have been people remembering the previous edition.
Nothing to do with Kill Team, Shatterpoint or Underworlds, but... There’s been a lot noise about the Trench Crusade Kickstarter and the system itself. I’m just a bit uncomfortable with the backstory of the game setting. Well maybe more than a bit, tbh. Wondering about your feelings concerning the Trench Crusade lore.
I had a long ramble about this on last weeks live stream because someone asked me there. It's an interesting one. I have always enjoyed slightly sciencefictionalised or supernaturalish stuff grounded in religion. Various TV shows but also a big fan of the Sisters of Battle in Warhammer 40k who borrow heavily from Catholic and Orthadox tropes - and I've actually had a conversation with my parish priest about this stuff in the past, who basically said It's fine to enjoy this kind of stuff as long as you don't become confused about what's real. However however however, the trench crusade stuff goes very hard and graphic, and I don't know how I should feel about it. There is definitely part of me that could enjoy painting up a New Antioch warband and it's arguably better that religious elements are present in this sort of post apocalyptic fiction then sort of sanitized out. I also think it's nice that the followers of islam (the sultinate of the iron wall) are represented as one of the "goodie" factions. But other bits give me more pause for thought. I wouldent want to spend the time trying to perfect a paint job on any of the deamonic factions because I know that my attention to detail and commitment to my craft could lead to some dark places potentially I am reminded of the CS Lewis quote - ""There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them". I suppose there is a parallel to the folks who have a profound distaste for labouring on painting german troops for a World War II game. Miniature painting does invite a sort of obsessional eye for detail which can invite an unhealthy interest. All in all I think I could be persuaded to play Trench Crusade if people around me were really into the idea, but happily no one I know personally has mentioned it all, so I'm just going to avoid, I think. Probably for the best.
I may have mentioned before that I started out in wargames playing the old Avalon Hill and SPI hex&counter board games. WWII, Napoleonics, American Civil War, etc... As a teenager and young adult, I was somehow able to separate the games from the historical realities they portrayed. But it just got increasingly difficult to set up the 10th SS Panzergrenadiers on the map board without thinking about the actual suffering that WWII caused. The GW “universe” is sufficiently divorced from reality and, I think, enough of a very dark parody of our society, that I’m not bothered by recreating events that never occurred.
Oh hello :) -- didn't really watch world champs. man some teams need balance. still. I love your videos, always a bright spot in my day when there is a new one

Glad you enjoyed it!
There’s something comforting about seeing a snorlax hoodie as I hobby away. Thanks for the info
Happy to help!
3:55 I feel that the time several of us spent posting about how razor wire and barracades could be used to break the game was worthwhile.
Sure, but then if no one had noticed it wouldent have needed fixing!
@@TabletopImpulse I’m absolutely certain that more people had noticed than were trying to make sure it had the proper attention.
Thanks for the vid
pretty new but i always miss accurate 1 from vantage lol
Any time!

>Whenever an operative would cross over this within 1" of it..."
HOW ELSE WOULD THEY GW!?
I know...

... or even in theory, the rule is to control when walking across a vantage point that happens to have a razor wire underneath it?
I'm just going to be ignoring the "within 1" nonsense tbh.
Always look forward to your take on this type of thing. I find your analysis to be more structured and easier to absorb.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I always value your input on these things. Glad I didn't get around to picking up that extra void crewmen!
Glad you enjoyed it! And Glad you did not buy the extra model.

Much recovered yes, and that ladder trick sounds interesting

41:52 About half the time.
Yeah, and you have a big rules brain.
accurate 1 only works if target has engage order. im mostly using vantage to ignore a conceal order
True enough!
I wish they did something about how many tac ops are elite team leaning
Not sure I understand, everyone has to choose from six tac ops, except inquisition who can choose from all of them.
Big brain play with broodmind devotion fall back to deny seek and destroy tac op overrun
Ah nice, thank you for explaining that

Some of these look more like typo corrections.
Definately!
26:54 ˌuːblɪˈɛt
Which I'm sure resolves your issues with the pronunciation completely 😆
Not one jot. :D
