Hey man, love your video! i need to get my brakes and rotors replaced soon. I drive my maserati kinda hard im not going to lie. do you think these are safe for the more aggressive drivers?
I was wondering where did you purchase your rotors n brake pads? I'm having a hard time finding them. I have a 2016 Ghibli SQ4 sports package, front calipers have 6 pistons. Hope you can enlighten me. Thank you in advance.
GSXRIDER09 nope! In the “vehicle settings” (a menu selected in between the speedometer not on the touch screen) you can turn off the auto emergency brake. Once that’s off just make sure the electronic emergency brake isn’t on and you’ll be able to remove the rotor.
I’m tryin to buy some rotors in the r1 concept but when I pick the sq4 model they don’t carry the front rotors but when I pick the base model they carry the front rotors does it matter what model I pick
when removing the tires you need to be careful not to let the rim touch those gorgeous expensive fancy calipers, which you weren't. If the rim scrapes the caliper you will get mortifying white chips in the ceramic coating, which you have. Being careful will require you to work from the outside of the tire, not the inside like you did. A few gentle blows on the tire with a rubber mallet may loosen the rim enough and then you can pull it off. The standard way is to put your shoe beneath the tire as you pull it off, preventing the tire from dropping down and chipping the caliper. Another way is to use a shim, like a 2x4 board, below the tire. This is a good video and very helpful, but you glossed over all the hydraulic work, which is retracting the piston and bleeding. Anyone considering doing this job needs to know how to do that, so a more detailed video should be consulted.
Just an update on the pads/rotors. It’s been about a year and a half. Still no issues with the pads or rotors at all! Thank you guys for watching.

Leon I drive pretty aggressively and have had no issues. Never driven it on a track or drag strip though
Wow first person working on their own car! Every other video is of some guy talking about how much they spent at the dealer.
Awesome brother! Changing my tire and had the same problem getting the tire off. Just kick it, go figure.
Great video, thanks for posting.
Do all pads all around have sensors on them.
Great video!
Excellent job! one question. Don't you have to put some brake grease on back of pads?
Sang Bae yes, definitely do. I forgot to because the pads didn’t come with the grease, and ended up doing it later on.

R1 Concepts, since I posted this review they’ve been selling out. Check to see if they’re in stock though!
Curious if you have any pics out there? Bought thinking, based on this video, but curious of the final look.
Danny Theriault Yeah i do, one second and I’ll put them on imagur and post a link!
See if this works: imgur.com/gallery/LlEQHZ1
@@oliverwilliams6321 I meant on the car, but that's a great pic.
Danny Theriault that is on the car? You mean with the wheel on too?
Yeah. If you have any.
Would you say the car runs different with these rotors and brake pads vs original ones from Maserati for ... 2000 or so dollars.
Not at all
Helpful video! Where did you find the front rotors? There is only rear rotor option for s/sq4 on r1 concept.
EXCELLENT VID!!!!! THANKS!!!!!
10mm hex? Recommend a large rubber mallet instead of hammer. Great vid!
If I ONLY need to change the rotors do I need to remove the brake pads?
No, you can replace the rotors without the pads. You’ll just follow this same process but leave the old pads inside the calipers
Are they the eline from R1 concept?
Are the rear brakes for the sq4 4-pin?
Did you have to bleed the brake line?
I want to buy the same tool kit u have ... where did u get them from please
RYAN YACCOUB Ordered pretty much everything from amazon
@@oliverwilliams6321 the name of them?
Great video! Question i need to do my pad and rotors for the front on vehicle. Do i need obd tool to disengage break system?

Perfect. Task completed!
GSXRIDER09 glad you could save some $$$!
Is the car reliable ?
Is it a 2014????
If yes what size are the rear rotors?
Where did you find the brake pads with the sensors for the front and the back?
Jermaine Jackson Found mine on eBay for $250 ish.
What brand of pad and rotor did you go with?
I’m tryin to buy some rotors in the r1 concept but when I pick the sq4 model they don’t carry the front rotors but when I pick the base model they carry the front rotors does it matter what model I pick
Yes, it does matter. The front rotors on the S and SQ4 models are 6 pin rotors and the base models are 4 pin rotors
Have you had any more problems with your rotors?
Adrian Segura not yet, they work great. Wear pattern looks fine as well
@@oliverwilliams6321 awesome great video thanks.
