Interactive English We're actually pronouncing NESTLÉ with an "ey" sound on the last part here in the Philippines. Lol. This helps a lot. Thanks! Waiting for more videos. God bless! 😊
Nice and all --- I speak English with an accent, and believe me some words I cannot pronounce -right or wrong or one way or the other I just cannot get rid of my accent.
Hi Antoinette. Thanks for commenting & sharing with us. Reducing an accent can be challenging and certainly take time. If this is something you're interested in doing, perhaps start with one sound that you've identified and really work on that. However, I think accents are common and as long as you can communicate with others, it's perfectly fine to have an accent. When I speak Spanish, I've always been told I have a thick accent. At first, I wanted to lose the accent, but now I've decided it's just a part of who I am. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. 😃👍
@@InteractiveEng Yes, that is how I study English "with one sound" at a time. I'll stay tunned, love to attend your "classroom" . I want to grow with my vocabulary and pronunciation. Have a great day.
Learning these Brands vocabs brings me almost to america. Thanks a bunch for it. As you both like travelling, hope to see you in Madagascar one day. Your lessons are the most helpfull!!!! thank you!!!!
In an ideal world, at the end of the presentation of each brand, 1. Wes would pronounce the name very slowly, then 2. Ioana at a higher speed and finally 3. Wes at a normal speed.
Oh my good i like the way she pronounce French brand she is good at it...and honestly she is pretty remind of my co-worker that i loved so much she look like her from Mexico :)..we want to see u more and more plz:D
1. I had seen this lesson when I didn't write a comment. It's a useful lesson as the brands are written in the same way in every country, but their pronunciation is very different. Coke has a diphthong 'ou'! 2. I used to like to drink a glass of the jack on the rocks or vodka on the rock or Pernod on the rock.
Thanks for commenting and subscribing. 👍 We're glad you enjoy our lessons. And the correct pronunciation of Le Creuset would be luh-CROO-zay. However, many Americans would likely pronounce it lay-cruh-set. 😂
Thanks Brenda! We appreciate your comment. We're glad you find our lessons useful. Nike is always one of our favorite brands as well. That reminds me...I need a new pair of shoes. 😄 And we really hope to visit Mexico some day. We've heard many wonderful things.
Hyundai is a major auto brand back here in India. In all the advertisements which comes out in native tongue, it's written H-you-ndaai. (There is no yoo, just yu). In the advertisement voiceovers where ine can hear the English there again it's the same way, h-you-ndaai. Sure, the company got a say in this and it got to be that way. But what are you saying.
I'm from Brazil and speak brazilian portuguese. I listen some americans and I don't understand very well what they say, but others, on contrary, I understand almost everything. When you speak, I understand almost everything, because you have a very nice pronunciation. Then, I wonder if It's because the state you are from. What state in US, are you from? You channel is very very very nice.
Thanks for commenting Luciano! I grew up along the East coast and Ioana spent much of her time in California. What you're describing is very common. When I taught in America, I often had students tell me they understand just about everything in class, but once they go out into the street they understand very little. This is mostly due to frequent word reductions, slang, idioms, and other nuances native speakers may tend to use. I've been teaching English for about 12 years now, so I think naturally I've learned to articulate a bit more. Just keep practicing (especially your listening) and you'll continue improving. We're glad you enjoy our lessons. Have a great weekend! 😃 👍
When you got to Chevrolet , I realized that many words used in English, which end in T are pronounced that way. Take “ricochet” as an example, I can’t think of any other word right now, but I’m pretty sure I’ve heard many. Maybe there’s a phonetic rule for that we need to look into? Could you please make a video on it, once you’ve figured it out? Thanks in advance, and greetings from El Salvador.
Hey Leo. Thanks for your comment. You're absolutely right. There are many words that end in a silent T. Other words like "depot" or "cabaret" also fall in that category. I think some of the words have a French origin, but I'm not positive about that. But that's a great idea. We'll look into doing a pronunciation lessons about that. 😃👍
Interactive English thanks for promptly replying my comment. I kind of agree with you. I think they’re called borrowing, and many of these words may have a French origin, which would probably explain the silent T.
Thanks for your comment Mustafa! We're glad you enjoyed the lesson. We'll make some more fun pronunciation lesson in the future. And per your request, we'll make some more speaking videos as well. 😉
A little info about Chevrolet for you. Swiss race car driver and automotive engineer Louis Chevrolet co-founded the Chevrolet Motor Company in Detroit on November 3, 1911 with William C. Durant and investment partners William Little (maker of the Little automobile), former Buick owner James H. Whiting, Dr. Edwin R. Campbell (son-in-law of Durant) and in 1912 R. S. McLaughlin CEO of General Motors in Canada. And Chevrolet Motor Division is owned by General Motors.
No problem. I forgot to mention the Chevy bow tie. Louis Chevrolet saw a similar looking design on some wallpaper while staying in a hotel and decided to use it.
The sound o in Coke is not actually pronounced as a long o because then it would still sound as /ko:k/, instead it's pronounced with a diphthong /ou/. So, it's not a short or a long o, it's a diphthong.
Talking about English pronunciation, my friend once asked why the English people find it so hard to spell their words. He claimed it was rather a misspelled words not that I'm mispronouncing it.
I grew up in Michigan where Chevrolet was born. We used to call the derisively "shove it" because they broke down a lot. This was in the 1970s. It was local thing to that time period.
I often drink coffee everyday and I like "Nestle" brand. In Myanmar, we normally pronounce it "Ness". Thanks for correcting our misspronounced names.
