Welcome Kevin. I also ask for recording longer films, practically step by step, like for the nursery school. Your images are excellent.
he has DVD
ShadowHoma I know, but I don't like to watch the DVD, and I mean for capturing the space at Kevin's images. He is doing it miraculously.
Cada obra es un verdadero show de placeres !!!!

Do you demonstrate glazing too? Your tutorials are so wonderful and inviting to do, but it would be neat to see you work with glazing for added dimension, if you do employ glazes.

I love your videos and would love to know where I can get your products in South Africa?
I have a question, what is wet on wet and double stretched canvas? Thank you.
This painting could be anywhere on the NW coast of Scotland. Any chance of including something similar on your digital downloads page? Thanks.
What type of whiteboard that draws on it ? it canvas or paper ? and if it paper what is tipe ? thanks
Did you prep the canvas with any liquid white or any other medium before painting this image?
Beautiful pictures I like your technique, and I see that you sell manuals, but you will have them translated into Spanish, because I do not speak English. Greetings from the beautiful republic of Mexico
Superr 👍👍
Kevin . You are great and handsome too!
Hi! On what material do you paint?... Please!!!
Do you paint on a dry canvas or do you use the wet on wet technique ?? Thanks
He needs to catch up with his DVD's for sale. There are many great paintings he has no DVD's for.
hi kevin, can we paint in any kind of paints I mean those we use to paint walls and the like? thanks
You can try.. But it's more than likely not going to end up even slightly decent. He uses oil paints here, artwork has its own separate category of paints, severe are from decorating walls.
+painting lover Most wall paint today is acrylic, which means it doesn't work the same as oils do. Acrylics are water-based, which means they can't be mixed with oils nor used over oils. Acrylics can be used under oils quite successfully. Having said that, there are many artists who use household wall paint to produce gorgeous work. Most are muralists, but some are not. For instance, Gary Jenkins uses house paints to cover some of his canvases before he moves on to using his oils to complete his paintings. He doesn't do this on every painting, but he does do it on some. Kevin paints a mural using house paints and has a video of that. It's very interesting to watch the process. Mural Joe uses house paints as well... a wonderful artist, by the way. Check a few of them out to learn more about using house paints to produce your own works.
I use acrylics and watercolors right now and am thinking of trying oils. What do you think of the water soluble oils? Do you use them or just the traditional oils?
Hi, I really love the smooth blends with oils. There is a hype that oils are toxic etc, however, Kevin's oils found on his website or all non toxic. Also, you can use a product that cleans and conditions your brushes called Turpinoid..Natural. It smells like lemon, and is non toxic, u can also thin ur oils like when using the script liner with it, or use a tad of linseed. I have tried the WSOS and they are very hard to get a nice blend, I didn't like the way the colors looked when dried as well, very dull. They are not easy to work with. I honestly can say, all Kevin's products are non toxic, stay away from Cads, oderless..thinner as it gives off toxic fumes in the air. I hope this helps, and I have tried acrylics long ago, once you give oils a try, and follow along with Kevin's videos, his DVD #4 covers everything from canvas prep..to colors etc. On his website you can read about the medium he uses that also comes with his oils..hope this helps. You will luv oils, just make sure your underpainting as Kevin has mentioned many times, u use a very small amount of paint, scrub it in, and when you touch it, you shouldn't get any paint on your hand, that will tell you that you have the right amount. Use the medium as Kevin explains on his website for the sky and water to achieve a smooth blend. Finally, I find having three brushes of each when your painting really helps, you don't have to stop wash brush and helps not to contaminate your colors.
Abby M Hey, thanks your response! I was a little leary of the toxicity of fumes and such. It is a relief to hear that Kevin's are non-toxic. I find that acrylics are very...difficult. And watercolors, while fun and easy, are pale and transparent-but I guess that is the point lol. I will definitely be looking for Kevin's paints. Thank you again for your advice.
Your welcome, I think if you want to paint like Kevins method and achieve nice blends, oils are the medium to go. Also, checkout the turpinoid natural, smells like lemon, its non toxic and cleans, conditions your brushes so nice. You can also use it for the liner brush to do sticks, twigs....with these products your using non toxic..
genius
Hi, teacher. Kevin^^
I want to know what you paint this picture for the first time.
Only, I guess that you will paint white gesso over canvas for the first time.
And then, I think that you will paint liquid clear over it.
Please, Teach me how to start painting this picture.
From your follower.
Hi, no gesso is applied at all, when you buy your canvas make sure it has been double primed with gesso. Look on his website and you will find under oil paint the medium and his oil paints for sale. He uses the medium for sky and water area only. The liquid white when applied all over the canvas it tints your colors when applied on top, thus your colors are not pure. Hope this helps.
Abby M Thank you for your answer. If so, Doesn't he use canvas that has been double primed with gesso? When he uses white medium over canvas, Does he paint it over only pre-gessoed canvas? Is Pre-gessoed canvas ' 6" x 12" Pre- Gessoed Birch panel'?
Hi, yes you paint over the already bought double primed gessoed canvas. For this method of painting its best to use a pre stretched canvas.
Can't believe he's only early 20s? Wow
Why 9 people dislike this?
Sorry Kevin I have to complain once again. I love your work but, you speak too softly.... you may not notice but your voices volumn gets weaker and weaker as you progress. I have a new Toshiba laptop with the volumn set at 100% and your youtube video set at maximum and still find it difficult to hear you. (I'm not hearing impaired).
Please do something about increasing the volumn from your end. I'd much rather have the option to turn it down than miss your very helpful commentary.
Been watching from the start of your career. Congratulations on your marriage.
Thank you for these videos. Cheers.
Dale.
+Dale Lambert buy a speaker for your laptop...
I like your writing Video that you made a lot of benefits. I then try to see. But it came out worse
