Today I got B35 with black G10 handle.
I use it as an city fixed knife. I had to order a kydex sheath because leather sheaths are not very practical for the city. I have secured the knife to my pocket using an Ulticlip and find the B35 to be just as suitable for an urban environment as it is for outdoor. An excellent all-purpose knife in the optimal size.

Totally agree, btw, where did you get the Kydex sheath, and how much for it? FM

Ha, cool. Exactly the same reason I got my b35 for. Including a Kydex sheath from Swiss Kydex and UltiClip 3.3

In the future, dampen the retention strap in gold watder (both sides) then stretch to fit and leave 24 hrs, then lightly oil and polish if needed.
The problem with cutting to fit, is that now the leather has more un-stretched material to loosen over time.
Love the content and your take on the knives I love!
    Thank You!

Thank you again and as you might know, I use more of a Kydex sheath for it so, it doesn´t matter anyway. But the leather sheath works!:-) Have a great time:-) FM

Thanks again for the great review! I decided to buy the B35 based mainly on your take. I wanted to have a bit more compact, slicier bushcrafter (than lets say my Gunny scandi). And this just seems to check all the boxes. Havent tested lionsteel yet, and also the sleipner steel seems to be a real good one. Btw. you have a great channel! I started my own, and did my first video yesterday. (Really awkward). But trying my best. Would appreciate if you have time to check the video, simple review on Jääkäripuukko and Sissipuukkom95.
The name of the channel comes from the fact that practically from my garden starts quite large wilderness area with old forest. Cheers from Finland!

Well, that is great news we have another knife enthusiast like we are:-) I´ll definitely check your channel:-) The Lionsteel is a great company and today I mostly look for the Sleipner steel on my potential new knife, it is cheaper than 3V, but it is proven, it can take some abuse and it holds an edge greatly too. Btw. you are lucky with the wilderness behind your garden, I´m jealous;-) Have a great time! FM

Why every single knife, should be tested as if it was designed for woodcarving? The Lionsteel B35 for example, is what they call edc knife, a general use knife, for daily task, like cutting apples. string etc. The Kizlyar is what I call, marketing knife designs, which means it wasn't designed for any use, just to look cool and sell. They could easily name it "Bushcraft" instead of City hunter, they would sell more of these... I mean, all this UA-cam marketing nonsense, may have succeeded on the marketing part, and many people made a lot of money out of nowhere, selling knives and gear, that only eat dust in the buyers drawers, however it has also done a lot of damage, on knife designs and thus, that hurts the people who actually use and respect knives. In the end of the day, it's the most used and most important tool, of our everyday survival.

Hi and thank you for the comment. It is good to have other points of view always:-) But! 1) Nobody said it SHOULD be tested... I do it with my knives to fulfill my needs of them. If you like it or don´t or your way of using the particular knife is different, then it is fine, use it in your kitchen, open boxes, etc, but I think, doing such tests with, say this B35, will be boring and I believe, this knife wasn´t built for those tasks. 2) This is the original description of B35 by Lionsteel, where they said something about EDC?
"Features of the B35 knife by lionSTEEL
B35 is a fixed blade knife, especially useful for mountain hikes and suitable for every camp usage: it has limited dimensions, which make it easy to wear, without penalizing its bushcraft knife features.
B35 is equipped with a Sleipner steel blade, which guarantees a high endurance sharpening.
The handle feature specific ergonomics which make it possible to hold it in both directions: with the thumb towards the blade or towards the end of the knife. The handle is provided in five versions: olive wood, Santos wood, walnut wood, black G10 and green canvas.
Designed by Molletta, the B35 is supplied with a double seam leather sheath.!
Because you literally said "what they call edc knife", I think you try to say your thoughts about the knife as the manufacturers, and I can´t see it there. Again, B35 is a bushcraft knife and my tests go that way always (even with knives not described as a "bushcrafters", simply, because I use them more in a forest:-) That is my way.
      3) About designs, well, you might be right here, on the other hand, 80% of knives today are about some "cool design", because, if we put modern steel/materials aside, what stays is the design, but there is no a new design today, it´s more about the combination of everything even I agree, if we want to make a knife with some purpose, we have to think +/- the knife features, but I believe, most of companies/makers know almost everything about it. But how to make the knife look cool, if we put everything else into it? Do some design changes? I say yes, because what else? There are people with very classic design needs (no something special, blade, grind, simple functional design, and probably some carbon steel + wooden handle and that´s it) and that is absolutely fine:-) But I like something more.
      4) I understand, that my videos might be advertising for some companies, but I get nothing for it, and if somebody is willing to buy a knife and my videos help him/her, I´m glad about it. Your thoughts about YT marketing are absolutely right, but we can use it for everything and can´t avoid it if we are online.
Have a great time there:-) FM

@@forestmantis1737 Brother, it's not what the Makers puts as a nametag, that's just Marketing. Whoever knows knives, can tell a design from another! With all the respect, that's not my opinion, that's facts.

@@greekveteran2715 Hi, sorry for the time gap. I agree, that design and grind, in general, describe what is the knife for (as the best usage). My problem with what you said (and didn´t replay when I mentioned it) was, that YOU SAID that THEY SAID - it is an EDC knife and they DIDN´T SAY that. It may be EDC, but they added it under their Bushcraft line "B". I agree, the design is good for many things (but not for a kitchen - too thick with a high bevel).
Let´s take it from another side. What the EDC means? I hope you agree, that it has nothing to do with knives in general. If we talk about knives like EDC, we usually mean weight and size. Do you agree? There are definitely guys who carry a 600g 12" blade kukri as their EDC and for someone could be even a standard folder sub 4" blade too big and heavy. Do you agree? I think, my TOPS UTE 2 is much more EDC than this B35. But Bradford Guardian 3 is also a great EDC. And TOPS Tracker T4 is a great EDC. All of them with different the most described usage, but all of them are EDC. If we check real bushcraft knives. most of them are 4-5" blades, a kind of spearpoint, scandi or sabre grind. All of them could be an EDC. I agree, that B35 has a more all-around blade design and grind, but what they really said "especially useful for mountain hikes and suitable for every camp usage" - why not? If we use B35 in our garden, at work, on a hike to start a fire or prepare outdoor food, why not? What is the difference? How, can we say, this knife can´t be used for the camp activity, and that should be done only with a dedicated bushcraft knife? We have to do very special tasks to find, that a dedicated "bushcrafter" is much (!) better for it. Otherwise, this discussion is pointless I think. I wouldn´t say anything if I did those tasks, say, with a dagger, that will have (in my eyes) more sense. Anyway, have a great time there:-) FM

@@forestmantis1737 That's a known issue with Lionsteel knives! Their geometry on the main bevel is always very poor with all their knives ( too thick behind the edge) I'm glad that you didn't get offended with what I said because it wasn't the best way to explain what I meant. I agree with all you just mentioned, even though I don't know of any human being, who carries a 600gr Kukri every single day on his belt. An edc knife ,as a design, is usually either a folder or a fixed blade around 2.5 to 3.5 inches or slightly more blade.
In fact, since all that marketing and all that misinformation it comes out of UA-cam, have confused people, and not many have kept their logic. I'm a realist and I believe in logic. Problem is, that most people are not like this nowadays. Again, too much marketing lies, and the opportunity that UA-cam and the internet offers, to make fast and easy money and fame, is one of the main reasons of all that.
