I get a lot of deliveries from Deliveroo and I try to make life as easy as I can for the driver. As customers we get constant text updates saying “the drivers nearby” so I even stand at the door waiting so it makes their lives easier. Such an underrated job.
Quite an eye opener for me, 1st time I've watched one of your videos. £15 an hour in London when you have your costs such as paying for your bike and its associated costs to come off too, it seems like it would class as surviving rather than thriving if it was a person main job. Give you a greater appreciation of how hard it is for these drivers to make a living & that's not even factoring in the danger element of potential being robbed, injured in an accident or the worst that poor guy's death. for £15 an hour - seriously under appreciated!
I evacuated from London many years ago, crossed the boarder (Over the M25) and never looked back. Took a lower paid job, so earn half of what i used to, but do no have to work in London. My life has improved so much for the better.
I left London as a citizen to move back to Cape Town and I do not miss the madness, the weather, the cold, the anger & moods of citizens. I commend you for riding around while having a main job and the channel! Big ups!!!
The guy at Noko needs to wise up. All the drivers are waiting for food that customers have ordered....! There is a way of asking people where to stand and if done well you will get more respect.

Even the small but actually big British values are missing from London, knowing how to queue for the bus, using headphones with your phone, driving etiquette, it all trickles down from there.
I remember back in 2008-ish when I was studying in London. Often when I'm in the bus I saw this group of adolescence playing their music, from their cellphone mind you, out loud. And they would give a shitty thuggy attitude towards anyone looking at them. It was at that moment I found out that as an adult, you can't get rough to minors. Boy, if it happens in my country, everyone in the vicinity would gladly disciplined them. I remember thinking to myself, what would happen to the country should their younger generation have this kind of attitude. Well, I guess it isn't far off from what I had in mind at that time.

The cost of living crisis eventually filters through and affects everyone. If someone "tightens their belt" by stopping going to the pub or getting takeaways, the pub and takeaway make less money. if enough people do that, pub and takeaway go bust. Their staff get laid off and have to tighten their own belts, suppliers aren't paid, the cycle ripples on.
I'm from Lancashire(originally from the Midlands) and did a lot of work in London a few years ago and have to say it's one of the worst places I've ever been. For when the inevitable cager (four wheeled drive owner) messes up on the road. Like the back rest. Can stop slouching too. Ride safe. Keep it between the kerbs and hedges.
I worry every time I go out on 2 wheels, just with the general state of bad driving on the roads these days, let alone the exceptional circumstance of getting caught up in a gangland feud. Even though I live at home at the moment, no kids or mortgage and do quite well with earnings over 3 apps I do about £478 a week give or take... I'm getting worried and concerned with how like Just Eats have lowered their fees on orders and the fuel prices going back up. One of the fuel stations in York a couple of days ago I filled up was one of the cheapest in the area at £1.63 its now gone up to £1,70 😡 Electric charging is going up, and at the moment its like 1p difference between electric and petrol. As more people turn to electric, the Government will find ways to tax more electric drivers, to compensate their losses. If the fuel prices continue to go up and the apps reduce their fees to drivers. Sadly unless they're increase the delivery fees for drivers to help with the fuel costs. It's going to end up with many drivers dropping the gig and not enough drivers to deliver food.
You Sir, understand the reality of the situation, not to mention I would hazardly guess that EV bikes cost more than petrol, and nor you nor I have any idea how to fix them. Specially when the battery catches on fire...
The main problem, experienced when ordering now. Through Just Eat for example, is when you order from a convenience store. Just Eat and maybe others charge their percentage plus the delivery and bag fees (if any?). If the store does not have or is unable to send all the items ordered, they do issue a refund automatically now (which is great) but the website takes their percentage of the whole amount ordered. Even, if part of the order was out of stock, for example. The larger the order, the higher the amount taken and only the cost of the item (s) is refunded. A shame the order websites cannot charge customers their percentage AFTER all the items ordered are scanned and or listed as out of stock. For grocery orders mainly.
Driving Culture looks and feel very similar to Lisbon PORTUGAL, BTW Orders are drying up here, lot of struggle with Uber and Bolt and above that Robberies are becoming very common, just for bloody food.
As an ex Londoner now living in Yorkshire... I would never move or live in London even if someone offered to pay me rent to live there. If I said what I truly felt about London, id probably get banned from youtube. I was thinking about you when I heard on the news about this, and its terrible to think any moment you could lose your life.😢 RIP to the driver and condolences to his family and friends
@lubvb09 I was born and raised in and around London for the first 21 years of my life. Whilst you're correct about certain things things being central e.g well paid jobs. However things are slowly changing. You have to take into account the costs of living renting, transport outweighs the benefits. I have a few friends who have had to relocate work outside of London as well, because the costs of living; e.g rents are ridiculous and they can't afford it. Many people in London are barely managing. Many Londoners have a saying, you don't need or have a car in London, you use transport. Which isn't cheap either, neither if you have to drive into am area of the Congestion charge, and also parking.. Thankfully with many businesses, people working from home still the norm for many and you don't necessarily need to work in London as much as you use to with the online world.
@lubvb09 "everything the world offers is in London" yeah mindless consuming, alcoholism, drugs, gangs, violence and misery and strangers who wouldn't piss in you if we're on fire, it's a truly bad place and the decent folk won't survive.
I have a bench outside the front door, delivering drivers can place the food there. I sometimes put my shoes on and meet just outside, imma get my food faster and drivers can continue on sooner. One driver didn’t even need to park the car, just handed me my order through their window.
I was a motorbike courier in London from the early 1970s to the 2000s. I drove over 2,000,000 miles. Scotland and back in a day? No problem. I used an A to Z to help me get around! I would not do it now. I hate driving now.
The British aren't angels, but when more than half the population of the capital is from overseas, you'll have little cohesion without a strong degree of authoritarianism, which is also not something we want. I am from overseas.
With average speeds in London, if you use eco-mode you may get more battery life and not lose any time. Worth the experiment. Eg. If you stop at a traffic light for 30 seconds, it drops your avg speed from 40mph to 30mph for a 1 mile delivery.
I always hear delivery drivers in London have approx. a 5 year work life. Given the pay (which is hard earned), one serious accident takes all your wages and then some. Tough job.
Brazilians are everywhere in delivering job....I wasnt expecting they are doin same in London too....That poor guy who died also seems Brazilian buy his name....RIP....
Christmas this year is the same for me man, can't really afford to buy any presents just a nice roast dinner with the family but that's all that matters for me anyway 🎄 👍
Great content bud. £47.53 for 3.5 hrs work, not bad. Amazon Flex is slightly better if you are outside London as you need a car or similar, don't think I will do it in London though due to traffic and all charges. Ride safe bud.👍
Two questions about deliveroo, no rude intentions. 1. Why are most deliveroo riders in London Brazilian? 2. Why do some riders do deliveroo with just a standard top box, surely that's not insulated?
Interesting that McDonald's orders suck in London, too! On the last one I took here in the states, probably the last one I'll _ever_ take, I had been stuck in the drive-thru line for over twenty minutes when my DD order was cancelled. I had to wait another ten minutes to get out of there. 'Fast food' hasn't been fast for over twenty years now. Staffs too small, menus too complicated, IMO.
oh man this is sad... This is the reason why I always said, I'd leave London as soon as I have kids. Since I have a kid now, I had to leave... Still miss the big smoke though
I don't think you realise how dangerous riding quickly through the streets of London can be. Every time I see you filtering through tight traffic I envisage a car pulling into your path, a pedestrian emerging from behind a bus, or somebody opening a door without looking and you getting your kneecap split by the edge of the door. And let me tell you that in A&E, you get treated as a damn nuisance for having such as risky occupation. You'll wait for hours in agony. I've seen all these things at first hand. Bear in mind also that an accident which stops you riding, very likely will stop you doing your main job as well. Never be impatient. Remember: the First Protocol of the job is always the last thing you must do - GET HOME SAFE. All other considerations are secondary...
First day of visiting my uncle in London first time ever to Britain. Just Downstairs a lady was robbed and the local maccas manager was attacked during Breakast. 😂 was a lovely welcome to England from an Australian 😂
Very sad news about that delivery driver I do it in lancaster on a bicycle just eat and deliveroo and with regards to Xmas being quiet I've done £1400 months Sept and October so I'm quite optimistic it stays like that at least until the run up to Xmas
Lived in London for a year in the 80s only attacked once 2 black men wanted my pizza from across the road when I said no both pulled out knifes and I ran for my life
London is a mess and is getting worse and worse, not because of the lack of police (trust me), but because of the law, theres always a loop hole in every crime and police stopped bothering with minor stuff and community stuff.. and I agree, let the people sort themselves out instead of wasting police resources on something that is within the mentality of the community.
RIP to the young lad mentioned at the start. Poor guy. Feel proper sorry and gutted for people like that & their friends, family etc ❤

I feel sorry for u delivery drivers in London stay safe
John Cleese had some thoughts on our capital city some years ago. He was right then and time has only confirmed his summary.
Been a minute since I watched one of these, the quality of the footage and editing is next level these days! Major props dude 🙌
Brazilian driver from Liverpool here ✌️
haha did not expect to see someone wearing a Philadelphia eagles shirt. Love it
Strangely entertaining. Good job😊
Cheers men i'm brasilians driver from brasil thanck you very much.
I am 100% following you mate this reminds me of my time living in london
Driving Culture looks and feel very similar to Lisbon PORTUGAL, BTW Orders are drying up here, lot of struggle with Uber and Bolt and above that Robberies are becoming very common, just for bloody food.
Really enjoyed your video! Subscribed
Awesome video, keeping London's Hungry at bay.
Is it native English people causing all the crime?
@@robbiepmusic yes, in droves, with a few naughty Frenchmen doing the odd crime :)
@@robbiepmusic Those people left a long time ago. The East end is now unrecognizable.
@lubvb09 "everything the world offers is in London" yeah mindless consuming, alcoholism, drugs, gangs, violence and misery and strangers who wouldn't piss in you if we're on fire, it's a truly bad place and the decent folk won't survive.
You cool 😎 man. I'm checking you out way in Texas my guy. Get that money. I'm doing some deliveries later.
I have a bench outside the front door, delivering drivers can place the food there. I sometimes put my shoes on and meet just outside, imma get my food faster and drivers can continue on sooner. One driver didn’t even need to park the car, just handed me my order through their window.
I always tip the Delivery Guy but apparently I'm one of the few.

I was a motorbike courier in London from the early 1970s to the 2000s. I drove over 2,000,000 miles. Scotland and back in a day? No problem. I used an A to Z to help me get around! I would not do it now. I hate driving now.
I’ve noticed the prices going up around me, not surprised the number of orders is dropping.
The British aren't angels, but when more than half the population of the capital is from overseas, you'll have little cohesion without a strong degree of authoritarianism, which is also not something we want. I am from overseas.
I’ve been avoiding your videos. They make me wanna go do deliveries. But I’ve been ill for over a week. Missing it.
Stay safe, man.
With average speeds in London, if you use eco-mode you may get more battery life and not lose any time. Worth the experiment. Eg. If you stop at a traffic light for 30 seconds, it drops your avg speed from 40mph to 30mph for a 1 mile delivery.
Eco mode top speed is 15mph too slow
@@LondonEats Just saw that when I clicked through to your road test. 🙂
I always hear delivery drivers in London have approx. a 5 year work life.
Given the pay (which is hard earned), one serious accident takes all your wages and then some.
Tough job.
Sad thing is, it's not just london...
Great content, see you on the next one ✌️
Great content bud. £47.53 for 3.5 hrs work, not bad. Amazon Flex is slightly better if you are outside London as you need a car or similar, don't think I will do it in London though due to traffic and all charges. Ride safe bud.👍
London Eats is good. Interesting commentary.
I watched first half of this video in London, and the remaining half I resumed in south Asia
Hi man, nice too see you back. Enjoyed as always. Big up from Glasgow.. ps your not DA the rapper, in your spare time? 🌚👍✊💷🎃✌️🥪
Two questions about deliveroo, no rude intentions.
1. Why are most deliveroo riders in London Brazilian?
2. Why do some riders do deliveroo with just a standard top box, surely that's not insulated?
Respect to you my friend!
May I ask what bike you got and how much and have you done a review on it.
First day of visiting my uncle in London first time ever to Britain. Just Downstairs a lady was robbed and the local maccas manager was attacked during Breakast. 😂 was a lovely welcome to England from an Australian 😂
All UK is in a mess.
Yep a state of decay
How do you manage to do this around a full time job? When do you sleep pal? Keep up the great content.
Thanks
Can we do an interview mate?
Would you be able to do a video on how you mounted the Puig box? I have no idea how to do it and haven't seen any videos on UA-cam about it. Thanks :)
Very sad news about that delivery driver I do it in lancaster on a bicycle just eat and deliveroo and with regards to Xmas being quiet I've done £1400 months Sept and October so I'm quite optimistic it stays like that at least until the run up to Xmas
Lived in London for a year in the 80s only attacked once 2 black men wanted my pizza from across the road when I said no both pulled out knifes and I ran for my life
London is a mess and is getting worse and worse, not because of the lack of police (trust me), but because of the law, theres always a loop hole in every crime and police stopped bothering with minor stuff and community stuff.. and I agree, let the people sort themselves out instead of wasting police resources on something that is within the mentality of the community.
so sad it happened and you said that brazilian drivers were so friendly just hours before
How weird right! As I was finishing my shift this whole incident was happening I never knew until the next morning!
U deserve a nice Xmas bro man ... pls be careful on road aswell... flippin looney tunes out thr looool🎩®️©️🏴⚘😍
Welcome to khan's London!...
