Thank you Karla. I've stopped selling plants now...I just exchange plants with growers in the society if they've got something that interests me....take care and enjoy the week ahead, Ed.
Hi Andrea. i was very lucky with the split on this plant. It was only attached together with one root so dividing it was very easy. I'm expecting both plants to flower in six months time.....take care, Ed.
That's got to be a challenge to grow in black pots versus the clear ones, and not be able to see the state of the mix. If there is ever a time when I cannot get a clear pot, I'll have to make a viewing window or door in the pot I use. :)
It's all a matter of choice Kevin.....I'd have trouble getting clear pots of 2 or 3 litre capacity which i would need for the large roots of phrags. Thanks for your comment....have a good weekend, Ed.
Very interesting Ed. I love repotting videos, if you don’t mind me asking where do you get your bark as I need to send for some. I’ve been using Orchid Focus but yours looks lovely. Very clean. 😊.
High Lesley and thanks for the question. Orchid bark is not easy to get in the UK so Google Melcourt Bark and see what comes up for you......I'm sure that they can help you.....take care, Ed.
@@EdsOrchids Thank you for your recommendation. The Melcourt website doesn’t show any stockists near me, so I will call them tomorrow. I also found a garden centre selling Melcourt Orchid Bark on eBay and will try them if all else fails. Thanks again 😊.
This plant flowered beautifully over the last year....I actually cut the spikes and flowers off for it to save some energy/ I bought the mother of these plants many years ago and have made many divisions from it. It was originally very difficult to bring to spike but the divisions always seem to flower within six months........I do think that splitting a large unflowered plant will trigger the plant into flower. I expect both of these divisions to flower this coming winter. Thank you Pat ......have a good Sunday. Ed.
Good evening Jens. The powder you are referring to is a long lasting slow release fertilizer called fish, blood and bone. Phrags don't like a lot of fertilizer so they only get enough....1 teaspoon......every six months. After that they get either rain water or RO water and nothing else. Thank you for your comment and good growing, Ed.
Good morning diana. It was a slow release fertilizer called Fish, Blood and Bone. It;s the only fertilizer I use for phrags.....just a teaspoon of the stuff twice per year,,,,,thanks for asking and take care, Ed.
Wow! They split up really nice, Ed. And now you'll have an extra plant, too!!! Thanks for sharing your potting routine!
Not a plant I really wanted to split but it looked like it was asking me to do it. Have a good weekend Terry,
Ed.
Both plants are nice. Too bad not a neighbor; would buy some from you , as long as I had a Good conservatory. 😊🌸Thankyou

So glad to see you separate these two plants. Well done. How long do you think it will be before they flower?
