Please show how you modified your hemostat to wrap wire and avoid sore fingers! I make inline spinners and would like to modifiy a couple hemostats for two different wire diameters that I use. I buy looped wire, but the other end for the hook I do by hand using sire bending pliers, small needle nose, and fingers. While this permits me to make a smaller very neat loop that I cannot get with my Boggs bender, it is hard on the fingers (mostly left thumb). I have a wide variety of hemostat sizes to work with. I cannot see the detail of your modified hemostat. If you make a separate video featuring the modifications, I'm sure many of us would be grateful. Thank you!
Check out this playlist, it has several videos on wire bending tools including how I made the wire snelling tool. ua-cam.com/play/PLEVBv_zywucR1daeR5wwkcZeqU-GomrKd.html
If you use a little longer wire to leave the spinner arm longer you will make the bait more snagless. You really want the spinner arm to reach back to the point of the hook; to keep the bait from rolling over a limb or rock and hooking them by accident.......... these are the first fishing lures I started making. (Years and years and years ago......lol) Nice job, as usual!
That set of pliers you used to create your snell wraps around the hook shank, where would one find those? I don't see anything that looks like that on Lure Parts.
Super nice .I have enjoyed all of your videos. You do a great job explaining your process. Where did you get the hemostat for twisting the wire around the hook? Thanks
Nice job as always!!!!! This spinner baits are for fresh or salt water, both? In the lake close to your laboratory wich kind of fish you do most, bass?
Very cool video. One of the things that caught my eye was the 'gizzmo', the wire bending hemostats. Where'd you get those. They look like a simple, elegant solution to doing this. Thanks.
Daniel Gagner +1 from germany. i destroyed serveral clamps since i see this video. 😂 can you give us a closer look? you cut one side and made to grooves, one 90 degrees and the other...
Engineered Angler ok cool I the only reason I wanted a bait that small was because I live in ohio and I fish big glide baits and see some big small mouth try and eat it but never can. So I was hoping you could make a small one.
Awesome! Was scolling back through your older videos.
Glad you like them!
Very cool. Thanks for showing that.
Thank you for the video! In-depth enough to get started but easy enough to fallow. Really appreciate you taking the time to make it.
Happy to do it...I don't come up with ideas for videos, I just video the stuff I love to do. Thanks for watching.
That is some really excellent techniques. Tanks!
Making spinnerbaits is a lot easier than this, but it's cool to see others make them.
I’d like to start making my own lures. This was a great how to video. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial. Thanks!

Great craftsmanship and video.

Thanks for the advice
I make mine very similar, but swinging hook. may wanna try this. what kinda pliers is that where u wrap around the hook?
That's a design I came up with. I've only made a couple. Make little improvements with each. Thanks fir watching.
@@EngineeredAngler if u got a vid that show case it, let me know! Love to try and make one
looks like "french" blades rather than Colorado. French blades are common on mepps spinners
you're absolutely right...it occurred to after the vid that I had misspoke. Thank you. And thanks for watching...
nice, i've never use spinner bait but the construction is cool i will try.

I made the tool for Snelling. I also made a video on making them. Look in the tools playlist.
@@EngineeredAngler Awesome, thanks. I just found your channel via suggested algorithms.
what is the name of the activator that you are using and what is the name of the pliers that you used to twist the wire around the hook

hello i wounder about your tool when you twisting the wire, do you know the tools namn? what do the tool calls, thank you

The wire twisting t [l is my design....
Nice job as always!!!!! This spinner baits are for fresh or salt water, both? In the lake close to your laboratory wich kind of fish you do most, bass?
Yes they are mostly for bass, but I also have good luck with them catching mackerel in the ocean. Thanks.😃
Janns Netcraft is just up the road from where I live. I might go there this week. I need some through wire.

That wire bender is my design...took a few prototypes to get it right but its a time and finger saver.
Daniel Gagner I hit up doctor friends, as they usually have the best quality hemos is and will give you a pair for free
@@EngineeredAngler Like the wire bending "Gizzmo" - would you please do a how-to video on making one. Thanks!
Daniel Gagner +1 from germany. i destroyed serveral clamps since i see this video. 😂 can you give us a closer look? you cut one side and made to grooves, one 90 degrees and the other...
Nice video!
Thanks
Awesome video, what is the name of the activator you used?
Man...?...I'll have to get back to you on that.
Not to bad for a bunch of hand tools! Get the spinner arm a little longer and it would look pretty good.
Thanks, these are not my specialty. I appreciate the tip.
Where did you get the special tool for snelling the wire at 3:46
I made it. ua-cam.com/video/KJY0aU19ujI/v-deo.html
What kind of paint should I use for airbrushed heads??
I just use transparent airbrush paint. This alows the silvery look of the clean lead to show through.
Great video, keep up the good work. I’ve actually stopped throwing spinnerbaits and started throwing chatter and swim baits. Which do you prefer?
Man I have an interest in all of it...so many lures so little time
What are the type of pliers you used to smell the hook called?
ua-cam.com/video/KJY0aU19ujI/v-deo.html
What kind of powder paint did you use here???
Stuff from harbor freight
@@EngineeredAngler oh nice, thank you!!
Are the skirts replaceable once you're done?
Yes you can pull them back over the hook
Do you have a link for making inline spinner baits for saltwater
I don't, sorry.
Merry Christmas
Same to you!
Can you design a small glide bait about 2-3 inches only one joint
Definitely want to do a Glide bait video....I want to clarify some of the associated physics that should be considered in a design...stay tuned
Engineered Angler ok cool I the only reason I wanted a bait that small was because I live in ohio and I fish big glide baits and see some big small mouth try and eat it but never can. So I was hoping you could make a small one.
And if there is any way I could buy one if you make it.
Do you have a P/N for the wire wrapping tool?
Working on the language, that stuff takes time. You can make it as long as it's not for resale.
