Thanks for that Video! I think about buying this as well caus the dispaly of my old HDR-CX280 is broken. What Lense do you use? Can You adjust the fokus of the camera proppaly by Hand?
Hi! I am planning to buy that A version. Currently I have 10 years old HDR-PJ650. It worked perfectly 9,5 years but now it has several unexpected problems that come and go away. I think that when filming 4K, an external bigger video monitor is a must. Does it output 4K from HDMI port? My old video camera does output fullHD but my Sony A58 does not. It outputs the same resolution as it shows on the screen so it is not helpful for focusing. A58 outputs something lower than 720p.
If you need to film outside, get the A 53, which is the same camera, but with an electronic viewfinder That's especially true, since Sony's camera screens tend to look black through polarized sunglasses and won't be visible when filming in bright sunlight anyway.
I saw the FDR AX43A on B&H and went "Wait what's new?" and literally saw that it was nothing but the screen. Canon recently had the same crap with their new Vixia camera where the specs were the same 6 years ago BUT "we increased the size of our LCD screen".
Easy way to take advantage of nonsophisticated shoppers. It's a little dishonest to me. The refresh is needed because the screen sucks but they don't make it readily available to the consumer what's new
Hi FPS does not mean new and better hardware. Canon camcorders are not meant for slow motion videos. 25FPS is enough. They added new processor, less power consumption = a lot more time to record, build in Control/Video Output via USB-C ports etc. I see a lot of that people think gear is old just watching some frame rate. Hi FPS like 120 in 4k generates loads of heat and 2 minute video gets freaking 1 gigabyte file. Camcorders are not meant to store 500 terabytes of data in one video. Camcorders are meant to record 4 hours of video even at 30C temperature and do the job without asking questions. Or stream the whole day. This is actually very visible at action cams. New action cams can merely record 30mins 1080@60 fps because CPU is fast that it overheats a lot faster than like gopro hero 6 or all other older models. HI FPS needs burst CPU to store a lot of data but it generates also sane loads of heat. Camcorder is only that can record 4 hours with the same battery or whole day with AC power.
6 yrs ago I bought a local ad Panasonic vx870 for $240 total. I regretted not getting the AX33 for the better stabilization and low light performance. My old Sony HD camera had pretty good optical stabilization and what a difference it makes for quick home videos. Fast forward 6yrs and sadly we simply have not made as many videos inside. So today I just saw an open item AX43A for $620 and bought it. Going to try it out and see how it does grain wise indoors and with stabilization. I have nicer 1” RX100M5 and RX10M3 cameras that are lower grain indoors but hard to watch due to lack of optical stabilization. GoPro 7 & 9 are great outdoor activities sort of cameras. Really just wanted a camera my wife would actually get back into capturing all the little memories of the family. Hopefully it works well for this role or I will send it back.
Thank you! Been looking for this answer everywhere.
Anytime
Then what is AB then that's what I'm trying to find out ???
Look at your "subject", your "scene", I cannot believe people don't think you're a cop. 🤣🤣. Great info. Thank you strategic.

Why can't I see anything when I connect this camera to an external monitor?
What lens and adapter did you use for this camera and why? Did this is wide angle lens? Can you send a link where I can buy this lens and adapter?
Sony CEO, "Jr., hand over the Phillips screwdriver out of the toolbox. I wanna unscrew this and attach this one I bought on eBay."

In high speed record mode at 120 fps, does the AX43A record sound and does it play back with time stamp ?
