Yep. I watched Evangelion for the first time earlier this year, and it WOULD be the easiest “10/10 must watch” I could ever give IF it wasn’t full of a bunch of perverted stuff that has made it the face of creepy underage fanservice stuff. So now it’s sitting in my mind as something that deeply resonated with me, something I would love to recommend to others, but can’t actually recommend because I don’t want to give something like that my stamp of approval.
I think it probably stems from puberty imprint. Did you grow up in a country that makes student wear uniform? By the way, I don't find any teenager/preteen feature sexy, but school uniform is kinda sexy to me.
@@Absolutelynonone I meant to say, "By the way, I don't find any teenager/preteen feature sexy". It had a typo. It used to be "By the way, I don't give any teenager/preteen feature sexy" which is gibberish...well...a sus/weird sounding gibberish
@bohanxu6125 No, it's the part of finding school uniforms sexy. That's weird. Something that is worn by minors shouldn't be sexually appealing to anyone.
@@Absolutelynonone Let's ignore what's weird for a moment. Let's first recognize the reality. A significant fraction of population who are not pedophile, find uniform sexy under current social condition. This is just an empirical reality. Many animal's sexual judgement are created by parental imprint. Some lab risen animal don't see their parents but see biologist during certain stage of early development. They will end up finding human attractive and refuse to mate with their own species. You can call this "weird" but this is just reality. We still haven't figured out how human develop their sexual judgement, but we know it is be more complicated. It is possible that the innocent teenager love/crash in school can leave some imprint on what people find attractive. Now whether you have this potential imprint it not depends on whether your childhood were in schools with uniform requirement. Like I said, finding school uniform attractive is very common, especially in Asia where uniform is common. The fraction of pedophile amoung those people is very small. You can try to create a negative social stigma and see if it would decrease the small fraction of pedophile with the collateral damage on a much fraction of people with uniform fetish... It's ambiguous whether it will end up worth it or not...and it's unclear whether work or not. If sigmatise something won't make the world a better place, then there is no point in defining it to be immoral.
One thing i absolutely hate is when an anime isn't sexual in the slightest, and its main focus has nothing to do with romance or sex but theyll just throw in random fanservice moments for literally 0 reason
Bonus points if the fanservice is smack dab in the middle of an emotionally intense or otherwise suspenseful moment and the sexualized character is randomly shoehorned into the scene.
You could simply just be watching an anime scene where two girls are sitting down having a simple conversation but the camera is angled directly where the sun don't shine 💀

Don't even get me started! It doesn't help that she barely has any lines at all (maybe that's explained at one point, I still find it weird how other demons can talk but she got reduced to just making noises).

Women are to blame for fanservice, inceldom is directly caused by female behavior in dating We incels are right women are the judges of a man worth in this society a man cam be anything but if women are not attracted to him,if he is single for too long or if he doesn't have a "rizz" is a looser and all the weight of judgment falls on him. But here are some reasons why dating is impossible for young men feel free to dispute me: There are more men than women specially below 40 If you are broke then the chance It is minimal unless you have good looks More female asexuals than male asexuals Women are much more picky, choosy, judgy specially in dating Women They are much content alone than men, due in part to the little society punishment that single women have, single men suffer humiliation, degradation and displacement specially virgin men Virgin men are unattractive to most women Most women have plenty of options, most men are lucky if they have two due to supply and demand men desire women more, most women are attracted to a small amount of men,the top ones but most men are attracted to most women Short guys(5'6 and below)are unattractive to almost all women Men have to do the approach Women have much lower sex drive than men and are more harder to arouse. We are right in almost every point yet people like to lie. Men are in the most risky jobs and also more men die in much more numbers and also die younger wtf,and women tell themselves they are the ones that are opressed If Elliot rodger had been a woman I am 100% sure wouldn't have a any problem having a partner, women have it so easy its infuriating 😡😡😡
When you're a kpop fan and a thai bl/gl fan But it's pretty uncomfortable when a kpop fan is ACTUALLY delusional. Like it's all fun and games when it's jokingly like "that's my man" or like "yup s/he's talking about me" etc etc. ONLY AS A JOKE THOUGH. And for the thai gl/bl fans─ well for the delusional ones. They have to realize that not all the actors ARE GAY. And just because they clarify that they aren't DOESN'T MAKE THEM HOMOPHOBIC.
Still, I wish they didn't pull the fanservice like you acted in your movies or whatever it should end there; no need to pull it in live streams, etc. like they deliberately delude their fans into believing that they are in a relationship. like what is the difference between them and ticktockers who are acting gay (but they are not gay)just for attention and this seriously.
@@devi5267 though I agree, sometimes it could be their managers or wtv telling them to do so. Or sometimes ppl view it as fan service when in reality they're js caring for each other, some ppl are js too delusional to the point where they over analyze things or they make things up.
@@kaiqk In the video, Emily called it 'Fanservice', which means it was deliberate; they like to tease fans about it. Although I agree that some fans take it too far, I have to say that acting as a queer person in real life when you are not is a scummy thing to do. I don't blame the actors, though. People should give companies flak for pulling gay 'fanservice' with real people, or at least not give it attention at all.
In my opinion, fan service becomes a problem when it starts to ruin the narrative. Like, when characters use reveling clothing that make no sense and just seems unpractical. Or when there's so much focus on those parts of their bodies, that you begin to think you're watching something else. And mostly, it really makes me uncomfortable when it's happening to an underage character. Sometimes a good fan service can make sense if it fits the character personality. But it just sucks that this is mostly something female characters deal with. Just goes to show how women are constantly over sexualized in our society.
Just to give context on the Thai BL+GL fanservice culture as a Thai person for anyone who is interested, it has always been a huge part of Thai media. From what I can tell growing up consuming Thai media, a lot of times they'll get two actors to act in a role together (either same and opposite sex, sometimes not even paired), and if there is a reponse for a pair in a certain media (they showed good chemistry on screen or something), then they pretty much get promoted together as a package for years or even over a decade. So, that is why, you just constantly get fed 'moments' from the same pairs and continuously see them in different projects together. Of course, there are also times where the actors do end up dating, but a lot of the times it is just part of their jobs and no one thinks much of it because this kind of promotion is normal in Thailand. The main difference I see between the Thai and international audience is that the Thai audience understand that it is just fanservice and don't take it too seriously, unlike the international ones. That's why, in Thai, there is even a phrase coined 'selling moments' (ขายโมเมนต์) that fans use because it is understood as marketing there. When the whole FreenBeck thing happened, even though I wans't a fan of theirs or the BL/GL industry in general, I could sort of understand the outrage from the international side. I could see how they might take the whole fanservice seriously since it wasn't part of their normal media culture. Although, the huge backlash the actors involved got was still totally uncalled for. Personally, I do think that this kind of culture that is ingrained in Thai media needs to change. Not only does it put the artists at risk when they decide to date someone who isn't the person the company paired them with, it also stops them from growing as a professional and individual when nothing regarding the work they put out changes at all, it's as if they're just stuck in a loop until the hype dies down. Unfortunately, though, because of how profitable the market has become, especially now with its growth internationally, I can only see them doubling down on this whole 'selling ships' thing and delusional fans just eating it up until a scandal breaks and they hop to new pair.
I was literally having this conversation with my brother earlier. A few weeks ago I started watching Thai dramas starting with Love Senior then GAP. Watching these series was like a breath of fresh air because them being LGBT was like it was just a normal thing as opposed to here in America where if someone is LGBT in a show, they make it a big deal or as the odd man out. I have thirst traps that pop up on my FYP on TikTok (which I can't complain too much since there's no doubting some of these actors are very attractive), but I'll get the ship videos like FreenBecky and think it's so weird how delusional people can get. It's like they're ready to write an essay on the glance she gave the other stems from jealousy and a hidden longing for each other😂 Now the conversation I had started with me finding out that a movie and new show was coming out that Freen is playing in so of course I want to watch it. However I found out that Beck is also playing in them as well and honestly I'm not as excited for them as I was (I'm still going to watch it). What they had going on in GAP should've stayed there, it's weird to me that two people are doing numerous projects together without experiencing other opportunities for growth. I just think it'll get too repetitive and it takes away the spice. Also, it stops both actors from growing and experiencing the methods and perspectives of other actors. There's a whole diversity aspect they're missing out on, and I just think it's unfortunate.
I get you girl. I started to fall out of interest for the Thai bl “2gether” because DAMN the fandom is so TOXIC. “Bightwin” this “brightwin” that and it’s a vid of Bright dancing with a girl (she’s a lesbian too btw). They send hate to the fl on Win’s new project (2 or 3 years ago). And they are SOOOO annoying.
Agreed. I'm a Thai myself and this was wild to see unfold. I can underestimate some of the sentiment from viewers and fans but, wow, the hate kinda turned me off from the Thai GL drama community in general. In fact I don't think I've watched any other GL after GAP the Series T^T

l could rant about how much I hate fan service in animes for AGESSSS. Unnecessarily sexual fanservice is the reason I don't watch most animes. Even as a lesbian, it's so obnoxious and uncomfortable seeing every female character have their boobs shoved into the screen and panty shots every 5 minutes. It doesn't help that sometimes it's with teenage girls or literal CHILDREN. It's so irritating and just drives me away from most animes ☹️
EXACTLY. I will admit I can be a bit of a pervert at times, unfortunately (not towards the underaged characters though, people who sexualize them are fucking weird). But it still makes me very uncomfortable to see women constantly over sexualized and in some cases straight up assaulted. It's disgusting and it makes me feel ashamed for finding them appealing in the first place. Why can't I just enjoy a female character without her being shamelessly exploited 😭
@@RandomLyneysimpI understand how you feel, fanservice exploits one’s sexual desires, and arousal so they can stay interested in what they’re watching. It’s not needed and it’s weird, and being turned on by something like that can honestly fuck someone up, like seriously it can influence porn addictions which can destroy someone’s life.
RIghtt like this really disproves males who justify young girls being sexualized in anime because they enjoy it. Like women who are attracted to women don't even like it. It's pure pedophilia and porn addiction.

Because she was indeed used??? Why the fuck am I weird?? I remember watching it and very vividly remember the comments talking weirdly about her. Funny how you assumed I was the one who sexualised a minor character when I was talking about how her being shown naked in an episode entertained weird reactions from men
BL fanservice is really uncomfortable to watch, for me at least. And I think what makes it even worse when it comes to acting on screen and off screen is that these couples, when they gain enough traction, have to stay as that specific couple for a really long time. Like, you can't cast them separately - every following project will have to be these two guys as a couple in the show. They will gain their own fans, have their own couple events, couple merch... it's a whole thing. And if one of the two dares to step out to try something new or whatever, all hell breaks lose and the other party may very well be out of a job because their whole income was literally their couple aesthetic. It's wild. 😮💨
when talking about the same sex shipping of idols, you should also mention young members at 15 starting to be shipped with the older members who are 20. It's so normalised and people literally recognise them as a couple. eg. enhypen niki and older members
People shipping niki with other members always made me so uncomfortable, im glad to see someone also not okay with it because no one says anything abt it
@@valorie444 i think there is definitely a double standard among kpop stans for male and female idols, for ex- they wouldn't sexualize someone like Eunchae and New Jeans girls who are Ni-ki's age but they have no problem sexualizing Niki who is still a teenager🤷♀️
thats also why its so scary to me how young idols are starting to debut now. like idols are constantly sexualized, shipped, etc. and as more and more minors are debuting its becoming more normalized to do/say these things about literal CHILDREN. maybe it’ll somehow get better in the future but sadly i dont rlly see that happening any time soon :(
I was severely delusional about idols when I was 13 😭 I had to treat it in therapy lmao, it can be kind of harmful for some ppl imo. It's full of depressed young girls that can take it in an unhealthy way
Me too lmao but im so so so glad i walked out of that phase pretty quickly, when i looked back i was beyond disgusted. Now that past of me as a k-pop fans is considered a dark era 💀
It irks me so much, because it further inforces that "women are sex toys". It has disgusting undertones when you really think about it. If its used for both genders, and sparingly, or just mildly mentioned in a funny or subtle ways? Sure, fine. But just for women, and excessively? Its just messed up
the fact that the industry makes this happen! numerous live streams, videos, interactions where they make you feel like you're a part of that person's life. we see them crying on screen, sweating, getting stressed, smiling, and the conclusion of all this is that we think it's okay to meddle in that person's life. after all, we're almost like a family, aren't we? in summary: it's precisely the goal of companies and the industry. almost everything in k-pop is planned, don't be fooled! ⌒(≧▽° ) ♥︎
Some of it is the culture too. Many east Asian cultures are collectivist, which can have many positives, but one of the negatives is that you basically sacrifice yourself for the group. So many fans in Korea really do believe the idols "owe" them-- not just because they are famous because of their fans-- but because you're not doing this for you, you're doing it for everyone else
Omg you are the only person I've seen to talk about the Thai GL/BL industry. I love BL mangas so I ate the dramas up! But it was so weird interacting with the fans who actually believed the actors were a couple. Even the most level-headed fans sometimes give into their delusions because the act is so convincing. I remember Ohm and Nanon from Bad Buddy, a highly liked bl show, fought irl and people tried to come up with excuses? Some even acted like they broke up lol
I was delusional when I first started watching BL at 16 but now I'm 18 I realise its fan service and its fake. I don't follow the BL couples or watch interviews either because personally its weird, because they are not acting anymore but being themselves outside of acting. People forget its not true. They need to separate these.
Ohmnanon's case is kinda special and heartbreaking because they were close friends even before the series so them being close itself wasn't the fanservice and not only did they stop being partners, they also looked really cold to each other... I think that's what made most of the fans upset, you know? seeing their friendship broken :l but ofc there are delusional ppl too which we are all aware of
Similar things can happen in western fandoms like with what happened to Kit Connor and forcing him to come out because he had a girlfriend and people were so upset he was not actually dating his costar. It's not as bad, but that doesn't make it okay. Actors are entilted to their private lives and don't need to say their sexuality. A lot of them are very young and still figuring themselves out.
Women believing their favorite K-pop star actually loves her is the same thing as men believing the stripper actually loves him. Edit: cause some of y'all are apparently chronically online and have never touched grass, not only women are fans of K-pop, and not only men visit strip clubs. However, the vast majority of both respective demographics are as I initially stated.
god the freenbecky situation was just so insane, the way some 'fans' acted like they were personally betrayed, like they had some entitlement to their relationship was just... insane
Ahh... you can not understand right? IF they do just a little promition like only for the duration of the series then it's ok (they do certian things for the fanservice that you can't never imagine) but they continue to flirting even if the series end because at some point of they carrier they become sing idols and if you don't know freen and becky actually DO IT the things that this amazing youtuber (hiliariusy) listed in the final little scene but don't worry about freen because her (new) boyfriend is getting ALL the hate. P.S freen and becky for the fanservice they go to PRIDE events making a LOT OF FANSERVICE but the peoples who pay for that have the most wrong
@@nanonclaireI wanna make a wholesome show that doesn’t need fanservice to make money, I want to make a show about two guys that get married and have a relatable and realistic story line. But uhhh that doesn’t seem to be the case for mostly EVERYTHING.
The BL and GL section of the video reminds me of what happened in the Heartstopper community. While unrelated, because there's not really any off-shoot fanservice for the show, a LOT of fans bullied Kit Connor, the actor for Nick Nelson (Main character's love interest) into coming out as bi because they think he was just "queer baiting" even though he portrayed a BISEXUAL CHARACTER in the show. Mind you, Nick in the show and comics was a guy who seemed 100% straight but was actually just having trouble figuring out his sexuality, teaching viewers not to look at people's surface level because it so often does not portray who they are on the inside. Kit was being bullied because he posted videos of him having fun with his best friend, who happened to be a girl. They harrassed and bullied him so much that he had to come out as bisexual so people would stop hounding him about how he's a queer baiter. It's like they FORGOT bisexual people exist in real life. I'm still so livid about how entitled and chronically online fans get because they think these actors arent real people for some reason.
Sa m’énerve les gens qui font pas la différence entre l’acteur et la personne, c’est pas parce qu’il joue un rôle gay qu’il est forcément gay dans la vrai vie.
Have you ever watched Perfect Blue? Its about a J-pop idol whose mental health deteriorates when she makes a decision that upsets one of her dangerously obsessed fans. The film has some very problematic sexual violence and questionable female motives but overall I'd say its got great parasocial internet commentary that was ahead of its time. I think you would find it very interesting if you haven't seen it already.
i honestly didn’t of think the sexual violence scenes as remotely problematic. it wasn’t glamorized or made to be seen as attractive in any way, but rather shown for how disturbing and traumatizing they were
I don't personally see the need for explicit sexual violence, especially graphic rape scenes, in any film or show. We should not need to see the crime to empathize with the victim. The animator of that scene (who was a man) was directly quoted saying that he had a bit too much fun animating it. Its nothing that genuinely great writing can't get around.@@chuuria
For anyone still on the fense about seeing it because of the "sexual violence", they are referring to a scene where the Jpop idol-turned-actress is having to repeatedly do retakes of a rape scene in a film. It isnt glorified or sexy and there is no actual sex. The male actor even apologizes and acknowledges how fucked up it is but Perfect Blue is an amazing commentary about women in the entertainment industry. The movie is a masterpiece and one of the best psyche horrors I've ever seen.
I actually agree Emily with the fact that the BL/GL Thai actors might catch feelings on each other. Cause it happens with straight couples all the time. Adding fanservice into the mix to me would cause more confusion for the actors. Hell sometimes I'm confused how the actors draw boundaries and stay "professional" together and apart.
so as an actor I can tell you the reason most people start dating is because they’re spending so much time together behind the scenes and not because of the scenes themselves! There is nothing arousing or intimate about intimacy scenes because they’re choreographed and rehearsed to DEATH and you’re also doing it in front of soooooo many people
As a Thai person watching GL and BL I agree with ur pov, I’m not surprised if actors do fall for each other and become more closer than the show itself
That fanservice constant mindset is really reminding me of the victors in the Hunger Games, especially Finnick. Then Katniss & Peeta also having to continue a relationship for the sake of the public too
Emily's skits are just always drawing me in so much that I'm often very upset that they're so short. Emily, you're just born for the big screen, may your acting career take off soon.
so true, I've only started watching her videos since, like, a week ago and I feel like she is REALLY good at those skits, I found myself more than once surprised when the skit ended because I felt like when u watch a movie and it got cut all of the sudden, when in reality the video just continued normally

That last skit though. It made think lots of actors/actresses might have developed a one-sided crush with their co stars and it made me sad a little bit.
I think fan service isn’t always bad. Like characters being attractive isn’t bad. I just hate the ridiculous moments that make watching so annoying + jarring. Btw when ppl say fan service yes they mean over-sexualization, but a character having their abs shown/looking attractive is by definition fan service. They are making the characters attractive so they’ll be popular.
Character being attractive ≠ fan service. Fan service is specific to how the character is shown or treated by show for the sake of viewers pleasure. A character that is attractive and a heavily sexualized character are two very different things.
fanservice in real life disturbs me at times because it has real life consequences, like this kind of mentality in kpop is what caused that when Chen got married and became a dad some people tried to kick him out of Exo and years later they keep not supporting him just because he created a family 🧍♂️ like he did nothing bad wth

What I hate about fanservice is how it denaturalize the way some people see relationships in general. Especially when we are talking about BL and GL actors. Some of the LGBT youth just want someone they can relate to. Or someone to look up to in terms of relationship goals . Unfortunately the facade of this industry is very confusing and fake most of the time. But it looks so real that many people come to support those pairings thinking it’s love etc . When it breaks it’s like heart breaks for the fans who supported them for so long too. We shouldn’t get too attached to actors and their ships but we shouldn’t let companies getting away with this hell either.
Yeah it was insane in fb fandom when ppl found out that one of the actresses had a boyfriend, like they'd make insane theories proving that the girl is actually single or she's actually in love with her coworker, they'd just refuse to believe that she's got someone in her life and that someone is NOT her coworker, heck even now i see people still shipping fb. Honestly I'd just say this whole thing of shipping real people needs to be stopped.
Lol this is why I avoid some queer women who believe in gaylor theory lmaao It's fascinating theory but pls for the love of god there are outed queer women musicians out there (arguably with better music than taylor) 😂
I immediately clicked when I saw Freen and Becky in the thumbnail because the shit that went down in the GAP fandom was wild! It’s one for the History and Sociology books 😳
I don't mind fan service that much unless it's overly excessive. I tried to like this one anime I began watching because I heard it was good, but it got to a point that whenever a female character appeared on screen, you knew she wouldn't stay fully clothed for more than 2 seconds no matter the situation 😭
There are great ways of doing fanservice, like giving characters the spotlight in ways that makes sense for them narrative-wise. E.g. Showing Nanami in JJK being dead-serious and brutal towards anyone who hurts his friends. It's cool, it's fun, and it's character development because we get to see him do something productive. Unfortunately, a lot of fanservice ends up being tasteless and serves no purpose other than sexualizing the character. Questionable camera angles, characters being completely out of character, clear pandering to a certain crowd, and overall feels like filler. Sometimes it even takes a toll on character development because the writers can't be bothered to actually develop them outside of "This character has big assets, is ferally obsessed with MC and primarily speaks Moanese."
idk if this is fanservice or not but jjk s2 make yuki look hot asf without tiddie or azz shot. i might be weird but i like women who r handsome..we barely get that in anime, it doesnt serve anything but i just like how they did it in a diff way? i dont think its even fan service tho PFT
Back when I was first getting into kpop, I thought idols within the same group getting shipped together by fans was platonic, I thought they were platonic... Keep in mind that I was a baby kpop stan and I didn't fully understand the concept of shipping either, it never struck me that people saw their bonds in a romantic sense! 😭😭
@@anarecinos1590 I always felt like Filipino loveteams were more like a contract with the studios - because once you were teamed up you would do basically all your movies together for a set period. But I’ve never actually been fooled into thinking they were really together lol. Maybe JaDine were dating in real life for a minute? But that’s the only one I can think of. But I’m also not in the Philippines so maybe the energy is different there
Loveteams in Philippines are either dating each other or just loveteams for the sake of fans and ratings. Loveteam fans here isnt that much of an issue. And most of the part, quite okay. The worst ive seen is the aldub fans. Some of these delulus personally attack and harass the irl boyfriend of the actress playing her part. It was a few years ago tho. What you have to watch out for are the problematic kpop stans here.
emily talking about gap the series was not something I expected, but it makes sense after that whole Freen scandal which she got a lot of unnecessary hate on .. i feel so bad for both freen and becky
the fanservice in the Thai bl/gl community is so annoying like i myself do find it so cute and i love the actors/pairs a lot but it gets so annoying when you realise how all of that is just fake + the hate the actors gets if they aren’t dating the same gender is just sad, like the way Freen got sm hate from many fans
What matters is character agency. Nobody has a problem with skimpy outfits but when other characters and the camera starts treating them like sex objects then it becomes a problem.
As a man, fanservice to me is a dealbreaker. As soon as there's any it becomes unwatchable for me, unless it's some kind of masterpiece. The reason for this is because I've always felt insulted by fanservice, as a man. Like, do they think we men are all thirsty losers who die to see that sort of stuff? Do they think we're so d*mb that having fanservice will make me want to watch a mediocre show? It's disrespectful and insulting. If you want me to watch your show make a good product, otherwise I'm off to watch some AoT and cry for hours.
As someone who watches a lot of anime and reaction mashups, these male anime fans don't even need fanservice to heavily sexualize a underage character. They literally just sexualize them for no reason, even when they are not wearing revealing clothing, even if there wasn't a full on boob or butt shot, even when they are literally doing nothing. For example, I remember watching a reaction mashup of the fight between uraraka and bakugo. When one of the guys straight up just says out of nowhere something about urakaka having a big ass. Or that time when Maki was just sitting crossed legged in the movie when you can hear some of the guys just saying "damn" or somewhere along those lines (don't even get me started with the splits scene). The disappointment evident in some of the guy's voices when kuroi wasn't wearing a revealing bikini (this one I didn't find it at all bad or wrong but I just added it to hear some opinions). But yeah, that is all I can think of or remember for now.
this is completely true, i've noticed this too. it could just be because in general society teaches everyone that women are sexual objects and our bodies can only ever be sexual, but also the fact that anime pushes this to another level is also why they act like this. anime fans don't want to admit it but the fanservice of female characters will have adverse effects on them, whether they like to admit it or not. it doesn't help that a lot of the time the writing of those same female characters is bare bones and they don't contribute a whole lot to the story, so in a way their minds shift into thinking that any woman shown on screen should straight up be seen as sexual.
@@areeba7045 society doesn't teach women are sex objects. Nobody teaches that. It's just teenage hormones and the producers know that and what to sell to them
I've dropped so many anime, manga, etc. bc of excessive fanservice. Especially when they sexualize minors: "well she looks like a child but she's actually 900 years old"☝️🤓 bs. It ranges from annoying to just vulgar and criminal. A little bit is whatever, but I can't stand shows that constantly shove it in your face or interrupt the story line for nudity. Also, rewatching certain animes as I got older just isn't the same.
Same, tried reading doraemon comics aain only to realize nobita and doraemon (who is considered the older brother/possibly adult mentor for nobita) constantly sexualize and harass shizuka. Theyre both 9-10. Literally confirmed in several comics they are in 6th grade. Ew.
BRO FR 😭😭 In sailor Moon, chibi-usagi is canonically 900yrs old but acts and looks like a child. The show even makes it clear she isn't mature. It's crazy how people sexualize her 😭😭
That last sketch was too well done. My heart is broken, please fanservice me up and fix it. Those imaginary moments you mentioned can't have been fake, I still ship Araya Chen and Noi Chanthara. I will buy as many albums as it takes to make it happen.
This part. I noticed this a lot with the FreenBecky and Lingorm. We get that they look good with each other, but we aren’t entitled to every aspect of their relationship.

Emily: I don't think many creators make something and they're like wow, this really sucks and I can't wait to piss everyone off with this one. Writers killing everybody's favorite character for no reason at all: ah
Fan service is good when people set boundaries between the thin line of idols-fan relationship and parasocial relationship. Ofc it feels so good that an idol loves and adores us but when fans think its more than pure love but romantic love, it'll have drawbacks in fans' long-term mindset
I feel like fan service would actually come in the way of real feelings if they happen to exist. If I was dating somebody or had feelings for them and suddenly all these people started to put all this pressure on this relationship and it became my job, I would grow to not like that person anymore
I can tolerate some fanservice in anime in modesty, though most of the time I just really don't care for it but holy shit please leave the underage characters alone. Leave the children looking loli alone, don't give me that "she's 500 years old" BS. If she looks like a child then for all intents and purposes she is one and they're sexualizing a character with child features and it just makes me feel completely disgusted. Also uncomfortable incestuous cousins or when they try to play fanservice in a literal sexual assault scene, ffs there are lines to not cross!
12:40 this happened to Freen (from the ship FreenBecky) When someone took a video of her and his boyfriend kissing, the FIRST thing I saw was a FreenBecky supporter sending her d34th thr34t$ for "betraying" her co-star. So obsessed to the point that >>SOME
This hits like a double whammy as both an anime fan and a GL fan. Like i understand there's a target audience for the fan service but keep It away from my anime. It totally takes me out. Fans being delulu with the actresses irl is also the reason why i don't associate myself with fandoms and don't interact with them. I felt so bad for Freen when It all went down
tbh i was super pissed off and disgusted by the "fanservice" when i tried to watch anime cause i thought i'd may like it as a genre. often the storylines were quite interesting and then suddenly there were tons of under the skirt or cleavage shots. and i thought umm sir THESE ARE HIGHSCHOOLERS... i'm fvcking furious about girls and women being se*ualized EVERYWHERE in this stupid society. it just feels so degrading. i'm kinda sad that i can't watch anime because of this cause i often really adored the fashion or the design of the series and the storylines as well. but no, i don't want to get angry everytime or support that.
Anime isn’t a genre it’s literally just cartoons (a medium) but japanese. Shounen (boys), shoujo (girls), seinen (men) and josei (women) are also not genres they are demographics. All types of genres exist within these demographics. If you don’t like fanservice there are ton of animes that have minimal to none of that. I recommend mob psycho 100 if you haven’t watched it, it’s a shounen with no fanservice. I also recommend you dabble into shoujo and josei (again it’s a demographics not a genre since there’s a misconception that it’s all romance which it is not.) some have fanservice aimed for women and a lot don’t have it. If you want you can visit colleens manga recs, she has a lot of good shoujo recommendations. People that complain abt fanservice in anime usually only consume shounen/seinen (which are targeted to men. There’s still a lot of em that don’t have any ofc) so u should giving shoujo and josei a try if you want ofc.
i totally agree but i started researching animes w no fanservice!! pokemon is a great choice, princess tutu, and lots more actually!! its so hard cus it DOES feel degrading but dw, if ur willing to step back into anime then u can find lots of good ones without nasty plotlines or icky fanservice ❤
Fanservice is definitely taught to kpop idols and is pushed onto them for fans to feel like they are in a particular relationship with them. It’s quite disgusting, and fans become so delusional to the point where they actually believe they idol will literally marry them and be in a full time relationship with them. I feel like it’s too also keep their fans, because if they don’t keep up this ‘kpop idol persona’ fans will just leave them and not feel any single connection with them.
@@nookiepookiedookieWHAT Well yeah, it's especially prominent in Korea in the form of "sasaengs", and delusional people. There was this one incident where this Korean female celebrity got into a relationship with another male celebrity, and you what their fans did? They went outside the companies the celebrities are signed under in TRUCKS with a screen saying something like, "Is the love given by fans not enough? Apologise". What is even crazier the lady in the relationship HAD to apologize, and I think the guy even left his group because of that. It's Karina from Aespa, and Taemin from SHINee I think
This is why I lovee jjk so much. It doesn't use unnecessary fanservice to make their characters likeable. nvm, they do it with the male characters. But at least they're all legal adults and likeable characters 🤷🏻♀

@bohanxu6125 No, it's the part of finding school uniforms sexy. That's weird. Something that is worn by minors shouldn't be sexually appealing to anyone.
@@Absolutelynonone
Let's ignore what's weird for a moment.

But here are some reasons why dating is impossible for young men feel free to dispute me:
There are more men than women specially below 40
If you are broke then the chance It is minimal unless you have good looks
More female asexuals than male asexuals
Women are much more picky, choosy, judgy specially in dating
Women They are much content alone than men, due in part to the little society punishment that single women have, single men suffer humiliation, degradation and displacement specially virgin men
Virgin men are unattractive to most women
Most women have plenty of options, most men are lucky if they have two due to supply and demand men desire women more, most women are attracted to a small amount of men,the top ones but most men are attracted to most women
Short guys(5'6 and below)are unattractive to almost all women
Men have to do the approach
Women have much lower sex drive than men and are more harder to arouse.

Please what's your thoughts on "ohmnanon" because I think Thai people are taking this so seriously 😭
It's like they're ready to write an essay on the glance she gave the other stems from jealousy and a hidden longing for each other😂
Now the conversation I had started with me finding out that a movie and new show was coming out that Freen is playing in so of course I want to watch it.

I will never understand what makes kpop fans think they are entitled to an idol’s life.
Real
the fact that the industry makes this happen! numerous live streams, videos, interactions where they make you feel like you're a part of that person's life. we see them crying on screen, sweating, getting stressed, smiling, and the conclusion of all this is that we think it's okay to meddle in that person's life. after all, we're almost like a family, aren't we?
in summary: it's precisely the goal of companies and the industry. almost everything in k-pop is planned, don't be fooled! ⌒(≧▽° ) ♥︎
The company is who to blame
@mandarinablue8438 Yes, I really liked their dynamic as well. I don't let it spoil my fun when I am rewatching Bad Buddy. That series is just SO good!
This is the first thing that came to my mind fr
Poor Kit, I will never forgive those people for making him come out when he wasn't even ready, he's just a kid people need to leave him tf alone😤

The film has some very problematic sexual violence and questionable female motives but overall I'd say its got great parasocial internet commentary that was ahead of its time. I think you would find it very interesting if you haven't seen it already.
Yes I agree, but it was J-Pop
my mistake thank you@@yamiavatar2662
i honestly didn’t of think the sexual violence scenes as remotely problematic. it wasn’t glamorized or made to be seen as attractive in any way, but rather shown for how disturbing and traumatizing they were
I don't personally see the need for explicit sexual violence, especially graphic rape scenes, in any film or show.

It mainly just when they’re sexualizing underage characters
@@someone4585 exactly
Character being attractive ≠ fan service. Fan service is specific to how the character is shown or treated by show for the sake of viewers pleasure. A character that is attractive and a heavily sexualized character are two very different things.

❤❤❤ AOT for life
It’s kind of refreshing to read this
As someone who watches a lot of anime and reaction mashups, these male anime fans don't even need fanservice to heavily sexualize a underage character.
You know fanservice is bad when someone thought nobara was about to "put her titties out" when she reached into her jacket for her hammer.
this is completely true, i've noticed this too. it could just be because in general society teaches everyone that women are sexual objects and our bodies can only ever be sexual, but also the fact that anime pushes this to another level is also why they act like this. anime fans don't want to admit it but the fanservice of female characters will have adverse effects on them, whether they like to admit it or not. it doesn't help that a lot of the time the writing of those same female characters is bare bones and they don't contribute a whole lot to the story, so in a way their minds shift into thinking that any woman shown on screen should straight up be seen as sexual.
Classic teenage hormones. What do you expect?
@@areeba7045 society doesn't teach women are sex objects. Nobody teaches that. It's just teenage hormones and the producers know that and what to sell to them
@@serenityssolace "society doesn't teach women are sex objects. nobody teaches that"????? where the fuck have you been for the past millennium LMAOO
Ughhhh, exactly! I tried rewatching Ranma 1/2 since I never finished it and just couldn't get through it anymore :/
Same, tried reading doraemon comics aain only to realize nobita and doraemon (who is considered the older brother/possibly adult mentor for nobita) constantly sexualize and harass shizuka. Theyre both 9-10. Literally confirmed in several comics they are in 6th grade. Ew.
Or the MOST USED excuse. "IT'S JUST ART, GROW UP" like stfu... CP IS A DAMN CP NO MATTER WHAT.
BRO FR 😭😭 In sailor Moon, chibi-usagi is canonically 900yrs old but acts and looks like a child. The show even makes it clear she isn't mature. It's crazy how people sexualize her 😭😭
Why do they even have characters like that 💀 just make her look decently mature or make her look her age goddamn
I’m so glad you’re talking about this. Totally a breath of fresh air.
18:59 istg this is when i realized how good of an actress you are holy moly
That last sketch was too well done. My heart is broken, please fanservice me up and fix it. Those imaginary moments you mentioned can't have been fake, I still ship Araya Chen and Noi Chanthara. I will buy as many albums as it takes to make it happen.
One of the grossest things about fanservice (and it's ALL gross) is how so many fans feel entitled to it
‼️
This part. I noticed this a lot with the FreenBecky and Lingorm. We get that they look good with each other, but we aren’t entitled to every aspect of their relationship.
@@AikiraBeatsif they will stop the fan services and just focus on working on their actings. no fans will be delulu but will focus on how they do their work
But Freen and Becky has totally stopped fanservice for a year now. Freen even did a solo movie with Mario "Rider" got released this december. Freen and Becky are now mostly focusing and promoting their solo projects more than CP. @@C.A.V.T

Fan service is good when people set boundaries between the thin line of idols-fan relationship and parasocial relationship. Ofc it feels so good that an idol loves and adores us but when fans think its more than pure love but romantic love, it'll have drawbacks in fans' long-term mindset
19:31 "OF COURSEeee GIRrrrLLL" is me in every situationship ever ty
Emily isn’t a waiter but she served 💅
I feel like fan service would actually come in the way of real feelings if they happen to exist. If I was dating somebody or had feelings for them and suddenly all these people started to put all this pressure on this relationship and it became my job, I would grow to not like that person anymore
emily has such good chemistry with herself lmao
Emily you’re very humorous

I was in the Thai BL fandom (the fanservice-focused side) for 7 months, and the reason I pulled out from the fandom was that these fans were so obsessed with shipping them to another star. So obsessed to the point that >>SOME
"What if her mom's corpse had some tasteful cleavage" 😂😂😂
This hits like a double whammy as both an anime fan and a GL fan. Like i understand there's a target audience for the fan service but keep It away from my anime. It totally takes me out. Fans being delulu with the actresses irl is also the reason why i don't associate myself with fandoms and don't interact with them. I felt so bad for Freen when It all went down
When I was a kid I just ignored it but nowadays I get more easily annoyed.
the last skit was too real LOL 😭 emily’s acting is so slay 🫶🏻
tbh i was super pissed off and disgusted by the "fanservice" when i tried to watch anime cause i thought i'd may like it as a genre. often the storylines were quite interesting and then suddenly there were tons of under the skirt or cleavage shots. and i thought umm sir THESE ARE HIGHSCHOOLERS... i'm fvcking furious about girls and women being se*ualized EVERYWHERE in this stupid society. it just feels so degrading. i'm kinda sad that i can't watch anime because of this cause i often really adored the fashion or the design of the series and the storylines as well. but no, i don't want to get angry everytime or support that.
I also recommend a sign of affection. It’s a new romance shoujo about a deaf girl!
i totally agree but i started researching animes w no fanservice!! pokemon is a great choice, princess tutu, and lots more actually!! its so hard cus it DOES feel degrading but dw, if ur willing to step back into anime then u can find lots of good ones without nasty plotlines or icky fanservice ❤
You're probably watching the wrong genre, then.
Please try watching Ghibli movies!!! they are absolutely adorable and beautiful + no fanservice
16:12 Freenbecky fans knows exactly what she's talking about lmao

Oh yes I was at a VAV concert, the fanservice is absolutely BONKERS. one girl almost fainted because ace was like an inch away from her face
You can't just jumpscare me with Chan like that 😔. Dude is veryy committed to feeding the delulu🤣🤣
Glad I never cared when all my celebrity crushes had partners, I saved my delusion for my career aspirations 🙃
wait people take celebrity crushes that seriously?? Am I missing something cus I don't really pay attention to that
@@nookiepookiedookieWHAT Well yeah, it's especially prominent in Korea in the form of "sasaengs", and delusional people.

But at least they're all legal adults and likeable characters 🤷🏻♀
and when it comes to the male fanservice, they’re adults and they don’t have to be naked to make us go feral and stray further from gods light

Lol I was dying at the ending skit because it's sooo true. Honestly the whole freenbecky situation was a hot mess. Things got so out of control and those girls didn't deserve any of it. They are still so young and probably still figuring things out. I will say in that situation the excessive fanservice caused so much harm. It's crazy that the industry tries to sale the fans a made up relationship even off screen. That's pretty extreme. I think you really have to have a good balance with fanservice no matter the media.
