It was so challenging!! Definitely the hardest hike we’ve ever tried! But we’ll worth it for the views!

Wowza! That is a hike and a half! We have hiked Mt McLaughlin twice, but never at the end of spring. If you ever get to the top, it's absolutely stunning. September is thee best month to go. I'm glad you showed us how much snow is left. That means that it will continue to melt all the way to the end of July, and in Southern Oregon that is so important because our lakes and rivers rely on that mountain snowtop to stay full. 😄😄😄

Wow!! Twice!! That’s amazing! We’ll make note of that! I’d love to try again when we can actually make it to the top! There were only a few others who passed by us that said they made it! But I am such a klutz when it comes to tripping over stuff and slipping in the snow coming back down the mountain was my main fear 😅

@NomadicHabits we were just married in 93 when we went the first time with a group of people. Going all the way to the top was tough, as the trail stops about two hundred feet before the top, and you're climbing up huge boulders. The trail picks up somewhere close to the top, and then there's a great area to sit and have lunch and check out the amazing view. I'm a chicken when it comes to heights, so coming down was grueling for myself. You have two options to come down, you can go down the Eastside, which is about a couple hundred feet of just loose rock or, you can come down the same way you came up over the big boulders. It was quite an adventure as we almost didn't get down before dark. The second time was pretty easy because we knew what to expect. Both times I did it in my early twenties, and it was tough then. I can't even imagine climbing it today at 52. Although all three of my kids are now young adults, they've mentioned we should do it as a family. If you ever come back through, definitely put it on your bucket list!

Dying can be a good reason to stop, yet also a good reason to keep going. It's weird haha.
