    Just repaired a similar dehumidifier. The relay on the main circuit board had it's contacts welded shut. I just took the handle end of a screwdriver, and tapped on the front of the relay really hard, and that fixed the problem for a few days and it did the same thing again. I ordered a new relay on ebay desoldered the old relay and soldered in new one, and fixed the issue. Better then buying a new control board or a dehumidifier.

    Thanks for your video. I couldn’t figure out how the side panels on my dehumidifier were attached. You saved me.

    Thank you soooooo much!!! I have a Frigidaire FFRH1222Q20 window AC/Heater unit and it was doing the same thing, so I checked all of the wires on the board and it looks like the black ground wire terminal spade plugged into the board was loose. I rechecked all other connection and now it works great... Thanks again

    If you have model FAD704DWDE0 it’s going to be the ground connected to the large black canister looking thing. I just cleaned all mine, the one connected to the canister had rust on the screw and in the screw hole. Try getting a tiny piece of scrub pad down in there to help clean that hole. Add some dialectic grease if you got it and it’ll work fine. Mines all good now

    While I certainly understand the relay possibility and appreciate the part number and source info provided by Paul L, I had the exact same problem with the exact same model and cleaning the corroded grounds as shown in this video fixed it. This was around six weeks ago and it's been operating normally since. No relay replacement required (in my case) and certainly an easy remedy to try before replacing one. Thanks for the vid.

      Do you have the part number and source for this relay. I have the same problem and would like to replace the relay.

      @@patrickcampbell4194 The post referring to that information seems to have been deleted for some reason. The relay is a common part and should be easy to source with a little research. There's probably a video somewhere detailing the replacement process itself. FWIW, mine is still going strong with just the ground cleanup, though a relay is probably in its future somewhere down the line. Also, these units pop up on CL and FB all the time for free or really cheap. A little time and maybe a coupla bucks gets you a $300 dehumidifier that should run for years if the compressor isn't shot.

      @@PogoInTheWoods Thanks. I did a little research after I pulled the control board and got the relay number. Found an exact on eBay for less than $10.00 including shipping.

      @@patrickcampbell4194 Hi. Any chance you can post the relay part number?

    • @patrickcampbell4194
      @patrickcampbell4194 2 роки тому

      @@timb6985 I looked but I can't find any notes with the number. The dehumidifier is my dayghters and I don't have easy access to it. The number I looked up was stamped on the side of the bad relay.

    Anyone figure out how to get the covers off the newer model, FFAD5033W1?

  • @fido139

    Its the compressor relay sticking, every time. Knocking it around as you did, unsticks the relay. Not the ground, trust me.

    Hi, I have the same dehumidifier with the same problem, I made all in your videos, but doesn't works, do you know what another think could it be? Thank You

    • @therealguyfi
      @therealguyfi  3 роки тому

      The problem with mine was the ground. You could try grounding those wires to something connected to the ground, like a water pipe. If this does not work you have a different problem.

    I believe that the people advocating replacing the relay are correct. My unit began experiencing the same problem this week so I took it apart and when I tapped on the relay the unit shut off. I made a video as I did it. ua-cam.com/video/Rwe6g7MM_so/v-deo.html. Thank you everybody for your contributions.
