Reminds me of when my late father, in 1952, decided he wanted to join the Oxford & Bucks military band playing euphonium. He was handed the solo part of, "The Maid of the Mill" (Polka) by Herbert Clarke followed by, "Come back ready to play it with full band in 3 days." He passed his audition (Just, he said) and was able to spend the rest of his military service playing either euphonium or tuba.

DE GENS ICI EXCEPTIONNELS que pour moi, à mes "oreilles et mon coeur " sont des Dieux de la MUSIQUE. . . ! La nature ne m'a pas permis de pouvoir jouer aussi bien, mais au moins j'ai les oreilles pour écouter. C'est déjà qqe chose = mieux que rien. . . !

Why haven't I heard of this soloist? He must not play as much as others, because I feel like he deserves just as much if not more recognition than many of the most talked about soloist. I don't know all too much though.

i play in the heights band now and he's gotten even better.

I have never heard anything like it before . such incredible treble tongueing. Brilliant.
Indeed! Playing this at half speed, they still sound very clear! Wonder how long it takes to get to that level of proficiency!
