    I finished secondary school in not a great place, messed up uni, quit, changed degrees and institutions and found my best friend by putting myself out there after that, totally by random coincidence but… thank you Jade! Wish I’d had this video earlier in life

    🦋🦋 I'm in my final A-Level year, and I 100% relate with all these experiences. For all of you guys now starting the journey, embrace it. Live in the moment. And don't get lost in the materialistic things everyone else seems to be. This part of like is all about YOU and finding out what that means.

While watching this video I could reflect on things that happened. All things mentioned resonated with me. Thank you Jade for this moment. And to everyone reading this hope you are proud of yourself today because you are doing great!

    such a lifesaver jade!! i'm in 10th grade and i've been watching for years, i'm always so impressed & inspired by everything you do! how did you balance doing fun and relaxing things during school breaks while it's still an option vs. pressure to invest your time in pre-college programs or internships? 🦋

    • @UnJadedJade
      @UnJadedJade  Рік тому +5

      hello hello!! awhh thank you so much 🦋 omg such a good question!! i really wanted to be a vet when I was in high school so I spent most of my school breaks doing work experience (e.g working in stables and animal rescues!). I think it's about finding a good balance. The fact you're considering this means you're likely proactive (queen!!) and finding pre-college programs already, so I'd recommend making a conscious effort to do the opposite too. For example, I would always make time to rest and relax near exam season 💛 I hope that helps!! x

I’m a current year 13 studying A level chemistry and gosh is it the bane of my life. However, I appreciate your videos that guide me through and let me know that it will be okay; you smashed it and I can too. The end of the video, in particular, felt as if you were talking to ME as my big sister- empowering me and making sure I know that my potential is endless and I can do anything, we all can. 🦋Right if anyone actually reads this or takes notice I might start crying whilst laughing from joy- so cheers if you do, I already love you for spending time reading this. I've just started y10 and the stress I'm putting on myself because I'm a high achiever is so annoying, a lot of days I'm stressed out or I'm overthinking. Rn I just experienced an 8-week term or smth crazy like that and now I'm on my October break. And over the past few days I've been making flashcards for science- which was well easy- and for English lit cus the amount of quotes I have to learn is insane. And one thing I've found most difficult is actually knowing how to revise for English lit and lang, like how the bloody hell am I meant to remember these 15 poems, ACC, An Inspector Calls and Macbeth? And I asked one of my mates who just did her GCSEs and my brother who did his a couple years ago, and they didn't really give me straightforward answers. Like for me, the analytical part of English is the easiest part, but remembering all the quotes is the hardest I asked them both how I should revise the quotes and they said active recall. And I'm sat here thinking how are you meant to actively remember quotes? So, what I've done is left some blanks in the quotes and put them on my flashcard: complete the quote and analyse it. Can't tell you for the life of me if it'll actually work or not, I just hope it does. So my question to Jade- if she actually reads it- and to anyone who is doing their GCSEs or has done them how they are revising or revising for English that would be very useful. But, to anyone who wants a piece of my advice- will anyone take it? Probably not- is to focus on yourself and your passions like Jade said. I've recently been enamoured by how shoddy the school system is and I've took it into my hands to research all about it and why it needs to change, I've said to myself that I'm going to change the education system because of how we emphasise on learning for the sake of getting a good grade instead of learning for the sake of learning, will I actually go into changing the education system? Maybe. Will I succeed in changing it if I do go into it? Maybe. But, that's my lil rant- go eat some food and drink some water, and if you feel like it get some work done. And whoever reads it just take care of urself and know that there's ppl who actually care abt you and how your doing so go msg that and tell them that u love them

    Hey Jade, you are my role model and you have always been. I'm a student of 11th class from India and besides being an ex - topper of my class Im struggling terribly.
    I'm preparing for NEET exam which has a success rate only for about 6-7%. In my previous grade I use to study for the entire day, each day I was studying as if I have an exam tomorrow.
    But the thing is, I cant do it anymore, im now a below average student. Considering my scores and behaviour My coaching even sent me to a psychologist and an academic councellor but none of them were able to help me.
    After my classes of about 7 hours, I get homework of almost every subject and the deadline is the next class. My motive is to complete the homework first so that i can ask doubts the next day, and then learn and revise the things. But, that homework of mine takes all the time and sometimes it doesnt gets completed even on the next day and I end up not doing it and not learning anything. Now, i have no desire to study because no matter how hard i try, my score jusst doesnt increases students kf my class are getting sad for getting 450/720 when I just got 210/720. Everyone sees me as a hopeless person who will never change and most of my friends to whom I have been nice to, have turned their backs, because we are all crazy about studying. Noone wants to be friends with someone who isnt scoring well. Now it feels like maybe they are right about me.

    this video just came in the right moment. we've saved this to "watch later" and we were just procastinating to watch, cuz usually this kind of titles gives tips to start doing like right after the video ends, but today we just got into our deam college "IF" (it's a governamental school, for which you do an exam to get in) and we confess we're feeling a little bit without directions on how this is gonna be, but we only have control on what WE do, and probaly things are not gonna happen the way we imagine or want, and thats the way things are, we can only manage the way we deal with them. this whole video was like a conversation, an "advised conversation", with my eldest sister. I am well into my final year of uni and I still watched all of this video and let me tell you I loved it. This video healed some part of me. I just wanna say that I love how this beautiful human talks. Its like elixir to me and I love how passionate she is about all this. I can tell just by looking. There's a sparkle in your eyes and you're practically glowing jade. I love to see it. And every thing she says in the video is so true. As I was watching this I started thinking about younger me (I was also a learning enthusiast and I grew up with Hermione Granger, Tony stark and Peter parker. They were some of my biggest role models). I am so proud of her for doing the best she can with what she had(those were some pretty harsh times ooofve) and for never giving up on her passion for learning I am where I am because of her. I mean sure it could've been better but she did everything she could and I love her.

    • @UnJadedJade
      @UnJadedJade  Рік тому +7

      I'm so glad you found it helpful!! I love how proactive you are and I hope year 12 is going well 💛 omg okay so for online networking, I recommend making a LinkedIn account. It's good practice to already start writing about your experiences (e.g the clubs you do, or projects outside of school) and to learn how to build a personal brand. Use the search tool to find professionals in your desired industry and send them a message asking for a 15-minute 'informational interview'. This is where you set up an informal online call and ask them about their experiences, learnings and advice! This is the best way to find out if you like certain industries/careers, to find potential mentors and even to find future jobs!! I'm sure the professionals will feel honoured that you want to hear about their experiences, and impressed that you're proactive at such a young age. It feels scary at first, but is SUCH an important skill to learn because 75% of jobs nowadays aren't even listed -- they're gotten via who you know.
      For in-person networking, you can find careers events, lectures or anything in your realm of interest and just practise speaking to strangers. You've got this!!

    Hey Jade, thank you so so so much for videos like this one!🦋
    I amcurrently in 12. grade, so it is my last year of going to school (I am from Germany). 11. grade was the hardest time of my life, since I had a lot of mental health problems, and besides my boyfriend and some of my online friends that are absolute angels, you really helped me through this! I read your book the summer before 11. grade and all of your tipps helped me soo much! My grades did drop, because on some days I was simply not able to get up and study, but without you it would have been so much worse!
    My dream is to do an Academic Gap Year in England next year! In case you do not know what that is exactly, basically you go to uni, but you can chose modules from whatever courses you want to and like get an idea if that is actually what you want to do. I love the idea of it, because I used to want to go to uni in England, but decided against it because it is so expensive (you probably know that going to uni is kind of for free in Germany). My parents are not quite convinced yet, because an Academic Gap Year at Essex costs 20.000 pounds or more and I totally get that they are not really willing to pay that much money, but your video gave me new strength and motivation to try and convince them, because this is my dream and it would be really sad if I gave up so easily!
    So again, thank you sooo much!! 🦋🦋🦋
    Oh and something else: I started my own UA-cam Channel recently! It is all about studying and keeping myself motivated for school while maybe also helping other people who are struggeling at the same time. It is called @AchiveWithMe-

    Hi jade, I genuinely share most of what you believe to be important for self-expression and development. The way you described one’s mindset influences the way we act in school absolutely applies in my case and I’d say usually does for most people. However, I would’ve loved to see you perhaps immersing yourself in alternative ways, ways that do not lead you through school but still allow you and encourage you to express yourself (eg as an artist). Btw I’m a university student atm so I’ve got the who9e high school thing behind me, but I liked the idea of your vid anyways so I tuned in :) have a nice day
