First, thank you for taking the time to put out this video. Not enough people create content for IGers so it is nice to see it.
That said, there are a few things that are missing from your video that I was hoping to share with you in the hopes of helping the other folks:
    1. You should be buffing your insect from the Thorn pods that get dropped. This gives you a 5 minute red buff which greatly increases the element that you bug is doing (by 250%) and makes the bug hit targeted areas twice as often (smaller impact given next tip). Once Alatreon start dropping the dragon pods at 30% health, use those instead for 2.5 minute buffs.
    2. You should be spamming your bug attack on Alatreon's front arm. Once you have buffed the bug with the thorn pod, send your bug out and aim at the arm, and constantly press the triangle button (or whatever the PC equiv is) so that the bug charges for that spot on the monster. Just spam this. This should be the only thing you are doing until the monster topples from element DPS check. You want to focus on the forearm because that has the highest elemental hitzone.
    3. If you are going to soften, do it with the 5 claw swipes instead of wasting a red pod drop.
    4. Once the monster is toppled out of DPS checks, let your bug just do its thing on auto pilot while you work the head and tail (next best hitzones for glaive, & tail sever = 2 extra carves).
    5. Once in dragon mode, break the horn and once it is broken, go back for the tail!
    6. Equip the Airborne deco! That is 30% more damage on the spike down attack's hits.
    7. This is more of a "your taste may vary" but I notice in the video, after the down spike, you are doing the weaker attacks that make your blade spin with your body (triangle on Playstaion, no clue what for PC) , but you get more damage if you go for the heavy hits (circle on playstation) and they have a faster recovery animation.

John Jimenez airbone deco gives 30% to the first Downward hit but not the second sadly. In most cases it’s 40+ extra damage which is good for sure but not a necessity

ohhh yess thanks posting the information!! :) I forgot to include thorn pods!! Using the red drops are all better than the stones that are more visible throughout the hunt, so a general reminder to everyone is just don't use the stones.
All of these are great points as well :)
I'll definitely work on putting out better IG videos :) My channel is pretty small and I just got a focus on Monster hunter so thanks for helping out with the tips!

I'm late to the party as Alatreon broke me a little over a year ago. But I feel the call of the hunt again - it's time to man up and put this behind me once and for all. This opened my eyes to a few things I was missing, thank you.

The particle effects of the lightning bolts attack show whether they will pulse in toward his body as the endpoint or outward away from his body as the starting point. It’s a nice little touch. If they are drawing toward him then you can immediately downward thrust because the lighting won’t be under his chin for a few seconds.

I hadn't even known that! That's a really nice touch! Always something new to learn :)

This fight is trash. Or maybe I'm just trash. But I doubt it. Got past dawn's triumph but I still can't get past blazing black twilight. I could survive 3 escaton judgement and still fail, if I don't get stunned and then killed by normal attacks. I've tried so many different builds and weapons. Fought it so many times, I'm good am avoiding it's normal attacks; I don't get hit nearly as much as I did when I started. Don't really need to heal much sometimes. But no matter what, I always cart to his nova and fail at some point. I feel as though this is impossible. I don't want to cheat and use a mod to get his armor for free and move to fatalis but I'm on the verge of it. It's a cheap move, I know, and I'll miss out big time on all the fulfillment, but this feels so impossible.

This is definitely a tough fight and the biggest issue people had with it was the escaton being locked behind the element dmg cap.
Since you're surviving escaton though, I'm assuming you have the right element match up.
So you gotta focus head and front arms. In Solo, you gotta take advantage of openings that come from attacks as well, don't just wait for an attack to end. Things like the straight ice breath and the lighting rings. Watch you positioning to make sure your as close as possible to dodge and then DPS.
If you're using IG, a good video for reference would be Alternum. Search up is IG solo and it'll show you a lot of the moves you dmg which you might spend just waiting or avoiding.
Also what does you set have? If you're surviving escaton, you should have enough element dmg, but you do also need regular dmg so make sure agitator is as high as possible (secret levels included) and attack as well as Crit. Which blade are you using as well? You might have enough element with some, but not enough raw. Safi is usually a good choice for Alatreon.
Overall man don't give up! It's a unique and tough fight, but it does require a lot of effort. It's definitely the hardest solo monster people faced in World!

@@SkySenseiVB not sure how I saw this so late, but lol I actually still haven't beat it. I just went straight to Fatalis after completing nerfed Alatreon. I used Teo/raging brachy before switching to Silv rath for the true crit element. Tried getting a kjarr weapon but could not. Safi works, but I've found that frostfang barioth works better so I use that now. Is it a simple case of getting good at the fight? It's really hard because he's just so frustrating to fight.

Doesn’t work at least not for me. Massive damage, break both horns, stagger, and what happens? NOTHING! 🙂
