They train very well to keep their forms under pressure. But than they can use it in hard sparring. That is quite something if you master it. But in real fight, always a lot of form will go overboard. It is just how the human body works.
Yes, there is, but it's not like in the Ip Man movie. If you care to carefully watch some videos on this channel, you can have a pretty good idea what real Wing Chun is like. Some of the videos even have time tags in comments so simplify analysis. Good luck!
They don't do it because it's impractical and doesn't really work in a real scenario. Don't bother with wing chun, you're better off learning modern mma styles like muay thai or boxing mixed with jiujitsu/wrestling you'll end up a much better fighter doing 2 years of that than 10-20 of wing chun.
Depends on the fighter and their experience really. If all you do is spar against one style it's hard to learn to deal with other systems if they are really different. You should try to find other styles to practice with once in awhile. Some of my old classmates did other things before training Wing Chun.
@@DeeBeeScribethe problem with wing chun is most of its practitioners don't train like boxers, nak muays, or kickboxers. But if the system is realistically trained with a competitive focus, I don't see why it can't go toe to toe with at least boxing and kickboxing

wing chun is played by grudging from all sides with the alignement, and the hands is where the ribs are at you need space and patience too and lightness and heavyness in slow motion start by tacking out the trap tricks.
where is everything from wing chun? they using only chain punches? where you have close combat moves? punches in the eyes and on the neck? where you have taang gerk and bong gerk? ... i see only chaotic chain punches. But! i like it! :)
That stuff doesn't work. Trying to strike eyes on a moving target like that is nearly impossible that's why you've never seen anyone actually use this stuff with any real significant success. Wing chun is just bad
Funny thing is, if you see techniques of old Muay Thay schools, it is actually very similar to Wing Tsun. In the short distance fight, man studied and refined the same techniques, since this is what the human body allows you to do (elbows, knees...); so, you may be right
Thanks for your last comment. Video shows how Wing Chun may look like on sport competitions. Technique is limited, of course. But the style is still clearly seen. Best of luck!
Real? 1) Both parties have similar distorted behaviours, so they can synchronize. 2) These techniques or behaviours can't work outside of their Wing Chun community.
@realwingchun rules do play a part but what I mentioned above is a valid issue. I was trained in Ip WC and I'm the first author who has definitive answer for why Wing Chun isn't working. My channel has videos showing the original expression of Wing Chun and it looks nothing like what you guys are showing here. Your body mass doesn't support your techniques.
If any that dissapointed and ask why wing chun sparring just like this, then they can't tell the difference between reality and movie, even the ancient martial artist do sparr like this.
Fight is never perfect. There were good kicks (with good balance) and bad kicks from both sides, I guess. And that’s because they move all the time. Plus simultaneous using of arms and legs complicates the situation. And I know these guys in person. They punch and kick hard, believe me.
its true some people have been knocked out in boxing with jabs, or even very light almost touches to the top of the head, which is a very sensitive area, with perfect timing, guy leaning forward just a bit and he's caught at the right spot? yeah, its possible.. but from a wing chun straight punch like they do? even if you have the perfect form, and you really put your waist into it, never happen. And like, im not trying to say WC is not effective, there are a lot of benefits in doing wing chun, chi sao sparring etc. You learn how to re-wire your natural reflexes. But the WC punch is crap IMO. They do have some pretty good kicks though, if you are good at executing that front kick, and that side kick, its very effective. And of course their low kicks to the knees are really good too.
Those kicks are definitely not Wing Chun. The reason why Wing Chun loses to most martial arts today is because of the lack of good footwork. If you look at the way they close the distance, you should understand why. You can't just "walk" into your opponent expecting to be able to hit them. Both of them are just "walking" around with a hand sticking out. A Judoka will just grab that hand and start swinging you around until you lose your balance. A BJJ or wrestling guy will look for opportunities to grab your legs. A Muay Thai guy will start kicking your lead leg BECAUSE you are just WALKING around making yourself an easy target to be kicked.
Kudos, but they're staying in the boxing range. Either stay out of range, or get in close into Wing Chun range, but don't stay in boxing range. Wing Chun isn't boxing. Get in close or get out.
