A new feature at the Louisiana Mudfest Trucks Gone Wild event was the Tug of War comp. Classes included Exhibition, 2.5 Ton, 5 Ton and Heavyweight. It was a single elimination event to keep the action rolling along.
Congrats to each of the winners and all who participated!

just in case you don't know.....'' whoever has the highest hitch point has a distinct advantage. the reason is pretty obvious if you think about it the higher hitch point is pulling up on the other trucks lower hitch point. lower hitch is pulling down on the higher truck giving it traction while this getting pulled up losing traction.... not the only factor for sure but a very good thing to remember if you're ever going to do anything like this.... helped me beat some trucks that shoulda drug my ass.....hope that helps

Joshua Godsey you might be right but 3.5 million and 42,000 a tire is alot of money for a tug of war truck plus having it disassembled and shipped out there and reassembled and the ridiculous equipment required to do so. but hey, get ir done

All those bell n whistles, jacked trucks and stuff. I think most of them have high hp but maybe not the highest amount of torque except that last army truck. I bet a western star 6900xd (with a load of course) could easely beat most of the trucks out there or if you want to stretch the idea to the max, take a dramis d150t

Actually it's to keep from ruining those tires, they are quite expensive and the water helps the tires stay cool and not melt away when you are spinning like they are.
HereComesVinny. I would imagine it also lessens wheel hop which causes tons of issues. Could be wrong though. Still looks cool.
It does that as well, but wheel hop can still be caused by ruts inside of the water and mud.

Why those tires? The air pressure on top of that. Why would anyone pull with the strap on ridiculous angle. If you on the high end ok but these look like they never pulled anything

I think maybe if the 5 ton winner had a 4x4 dif lock he might have won against the behemoth thing.
If his rearend hadnt been out it woulda been a good tug match.That was an M123 10 ton cargo truck he was pulling against.

The other rig you might not have noticed had literally 3-4 tons worth of busted scrap in the back of the rig. In Tug of War of this style weight makes a huge difference. Now the empty rig only had two wheel drive at this point so he was up against it no matter what. I would have loved to see him at 4 wheel against hat...

First of all, tug of war is supposed to be about grip and traction. Why is the floor covered in water greatly reducing the grip and traction??? They might as well have a tug-of-war on freakin ice!!!
