Old School 70-81 Camaro of Firebird, Take the spindles off an Impala Wagon using a corvette rotor so you can use your current wheels and you get a set of larger brakes. Lowering Kit, Take the front rear spring pocket and drill a hole an inch higher, you will need to trim out the top of the hanger to give the spring eye room. This is how it wss done when you couldn't toss a catalog at your car.
great and useful videos on Trans Am built ,,,,must to be watched by any one planning restomod for his second gen Fbody
"You know an etech-a-sketch isn't a computer right?" 🤣
I watch every episode with great anticipation with Joe and Tommy. I'm literally 20 minutes from their shop. As long as it's not the Carcass posers, we'll keep watching. And they are posers.
Oh man, ya got me. What should I do now that the truth is out?
Where is their shop?

Tommy is a knowledgeable dude and a nice southern gentleman
@Leo Coffy How about this>? You do you and then you mind your very own business and not concern yourself with others viewing choices. Is your name really Karen?
I am really enjoying the content you guys are putting out thanks!!
Hey Guys I really enjoy your videos keep up the good work. Love you Guys 👍.
The one thing that they don't tell you to do when you add sub frame connectors. Is that you need to add a new whole to replace the tow point that's covered by the frame connectors.
@Adrian O Agreed. But I'm thinking of when it brakes down an it has to be towed. They cover the rear tow points and don't make new ones.
Would have been nice if you would have showed more on the back of the bird for the installing frame tie in...
Yeah those cars would require lots of labour. Which kind of sucks because most people want something easy. Hopefully someone good enough will come along and work those cars.
I'm currently building a 79
That 327 didn’t have a TH350 behind it, the 350 trans didn’t came out until 1969
I thought the same thing.
I sub framed my firebird
I swear it made it better in every way possible handling acceleration braking.
Just do it!
I enjoy each video you guys put out. I am in the process of upgrading to rear discs and I see from your last video that you mounted the driver's side caliper outboard, which will hit the shock. In this video, I did not see that the shock mounting location has been moved. How did you overcome the issue with the rear calipers hitting the shock, in this case from your video, on the driver's side if I am looking at what was done correctly?
So they didn't put any parking shoes on the rear from the 4th gen Camaro brake mod?
That exhaust system looks so nice!
Parking brakes are ghey
Went from episode 4 to 6 on the trans am. I looked but I don't see one I missed? Thanks!
Sup I love the 77 trans am I watch smoke in the band like 57 times
I became super trucker and started hauling beer for Budweiser with Sheriff Justice chasing me around too !
Honestly I do think that this TA really needs me.....😎
Rear end and bottom end are two very different things.
I had a 66 impala ss 327. I was planning on building it for a dirt track car.
After you "tightened" that spring bracket, I saw it move downward about 1/16".
Love to see Chuck Hanson from the American Chevelle Enthusiast Society do a show with Joe like from the good ol days.
I'm almost done with my 67 - 327 double hump engine. I'm
surprised you didn't take that back with you
Sweet engine man 👍

Nice Video
That exhaust is not ideal. Dual cat were a nice touch, but an true x pipe would have been better that y pipe. I had a 79 TA.
Pypes kit with a x pipe would have been nice
Not even a true dual exhaust.
Thanks fer sharin', fellas!
is that impala still forsale i would like to by it if i could get intouch with the people who own it please
This is like a 4yr old episode
@@smokinschannel5840 Wouldn't be surprised if it was still there
It was just posted so you might have some luck
I've got a 65 impala over in middle TN. Been trying to figure out if my 327 is the one that goes to it
I don't understand why you wouldn't go for upgraded rear coils for the year....
Thought the same thing, all that time wasted on polishing turd leaf springs with poly bushings
would look great in some other colors available in77-78, black, gold , white, is common,,, i remember, burgendy, bronze, silver, blue etc
You got to reinforce the frame ? Haaahaaa!
"You know that ain't mud, right?!" :'@D
The HR-2 mineral based oil is not compatible with catalytic converters because of the amount of ZDDP in it... Make the CAT’S removable for inspection and fabricate some test pipes or a non-Cat Y pipe. But, OK if it will be a garage queen...
3:35 andddd its stripped
I saw that too 🤣
It has to be
That car is my dream car
why didn't you make it a true duel exhaust ??????????
@@bigboreracing356 did your crystal ball tell you that ?
@@bigboreracing356 who’s everyone? The reason why they went with that set up was to keep it inline with the original exhaust layout, it has nothing to do with sound.
Probably because of varying exhaust emission laws throughout the country, plus this system has dual cats unlike the original had one cat and was really restrictive.
@@NYPATRIOTBX Everyone except you.
@@basshead. owned plenty of 3rd gen Camaro’s, never said single exhaust sounded better or worse than a dual exhaust.
MORE JOE ELMORE PLEASE
Where The Hell Is COURTNEY HANSEN??
😆 ‘larger sway bars reduce understeer’.
What ?, front or rear !
Was your book made in China? First year for the th350 was 1969. You should look at the date code on the back of the block rather than relying on the two-letter code stamped on the pad.
Appologize late n auto play.. Love from indonesia
Wow, didn't expect to see Joe Elmore back
Good luck 👍
Why can't the old man install camshafts with the same care he used when installing that axle?
makes subframe connectors BOLTS to front subframe smh
Cool..............................👍👍👍👍

Love that picture American graffiti
That 700r4 is going to live maybe 3 min.
@@bigboreracing356 🤣🤣🤣
depends on how its built
@@bigboreracing356 depend on who builds it and what you pay for. all builds are not equal. if you pay low you get low in trans. you also have to ask question and tell them what you want and what you intend to do with it. 700r4 what never made for 540hp unless you build it. no factory trans will take that power.. here is two differ built ones
www.transdepot.net/td700r4st2
www.performabuilt.com/product/level-2-pro-race-700r4/
one is stronger than the other. different builders. pay attention ask questions before you spend your money.
Especially if it’s built by monster transmission 🤣
@@bigsean2473 agreed, if anyone can build a 700 it’s the guys at Precision Transmission’s
Why the hell would you put cats on that car?? Not to mention subframe connectors are relatively cheap and widely available for these 2nd gen cars, and a hell of a lot easier to install
i guess same reason it has fake daul exhaust
Agreed, in NY anything 95 an older is emission exempt, if I had that car those cats would be scrapped
The firebird looked better red.
How do I get in the giveaway?
How do I win this? Lol I love these cars

A 474 STOKER necked down into a single exhaust pipe????
Who's brilliant idea was that??? Really dumb guys...
2:13
Why go dual cats then squeeze it down into 1 tube and then back out to dual mufflers and pipes???? What a waste of an engine to be connected to that lame exhaust system.
I was thinking the same thing, that and the amount of time wasted building up the rear end only to use a leaf spring suspension 🤦🏻♂️
Because thats how factory exhaust was done after emissions started
