Twilight Princess. It has so many frustrating parts for me (as with everyone else), but one that always stood out to me is that Link never tells anyone he is the Wolf that's running around and explains to the allies that are guiding him through the temples what is going on. So when they all come to help him in the final dungeon, it feels so undeserved! I love TP, but I can't ignore its flaws.
It’s funny my experience was the exact opposite. These kinds of games were like a dream that I didn’t want to end, so every time there seemed to be more temples than I expected, I was elated. Even went as far as that I stopped playing at the ending because I didn’t want my experience with the game to be over lol. Unless a game gets repetitive, I couldn’t understand why anyone doesn’t want a game to be long (pacing issues aside though, I agree the beginning was somewhat slow. But I was already a fan so I was hyped enough to enjoy it anyway)
Exactly, never had a problem with the opening either, I think It really shows Link's life and how the whole Zant situation really endangers that life, it makes everything more personal. I don't know, I like the opening, it suits the game very well imo.
Same. Played through the intro, never had a problem with it. It does a good job showcasing Link’s life on the ranch with his friends, before he turns into a wolf and the children getting taken.
This is not only my favorite Zelda game, but my favorite video game of all time. The characters and plot are just SO GOOD. I think it would make the best TV show.
Growing up, I had the exact opposite experience to playing Twilight Princess as it was the first Zelda game I remember playing. I might have played Skyward Sword first but i don't remember too well. But what I do remember is the feeling Twilight Princess gave me, especially when I took over my brother's save file that had gotten to the forest temple (because I got stuck in like the Faron Woods twilight realm for so long lol), because entering Faron Woods and the Forest Temple made me feel so cool as a kid, especially since it was the Wii version so I actively played as Link. Twilight Princess will always hold a special place in my heart as not only the game that made me love the legend of Zelda, but the game that challenged me the MOST growing up. I loved Mario Wii, but it wasn't challenging. Zelda was. I honestly loved the beginning of the game in Twilight Princess, and like 6 year old me would've flipped out if I learned there was more game after Faron Woods lol. Just found your channel like an hour ago, and I am liking what I'm seeing.
I think it has one of the strongest openings, it forces you to get invested in the story. Dropping you right in the middle of a deep conversation was a brilliant decision
@@ricky.t.1658 I don’t think that was the issue I think the whole Segment for Ordon is a bit too long. It never crossed my mind as it is filled with a lot of story and cutscenes which weren’t a big thing in Zelda before TP which many people forget
I've never ever had an issue with TP. Wind Waker was my first Zelda game, and ever since then I was hooked. Yes the opening was slow, but God was it worth getting through. TP is my absolute favorite of all time Zelda game (yes, I love it more than TotK and BotW) Unfortunately my Wii and GameCube broke so I lost the ability to properly play both TP and WW (as both games wouldn't run on Dolphin until recently for me) Anywho, TP has in my opinion, the BEST companion character in Midna. The story in general is just incredible. My friends heard me finish TP yesterday and were like "are you... Crying?" "YES" lmao. After not being able to play it for over 8 years, I 100%'d TP in just over 25 hours. Still cried at the end. Loved it, and I always will
Oh, you'll be fine. Despite what I said, the word "light" isn't thrown around quite as much as a Kingdom Hearts remembers. Now *DARKNESS* on the other hand...
Tp didn’t use to be my fav zelda game but since we suffered totk I’ve learnt to love this game much more, because now I know how much worse it all could have gone
I never played any game in the Zelda series until recently, except some Minish Cap, but I dropped it halfway. I tried again recently and I played Breath of the Wild and it was the thing that helped me to love a gaming again. I will try Wind Waker and Twilight Princess next. Thank you for video!
TP is actually still my favorite 3D Zelda game I think, TOTK comes close but not by much. The art style or aesthetic is what really makes this stand out. Especially the end credits music is what I think is considered the best the franchise has to offer. It gets me teary eyed every time and made me feel heroic in a sense like I’ve helped the people of Hyrule by a majority.
If they port this to Switch it would probably sell very well. Link's Awakening and Skyward Sword Switch versions sold well and before BOTW, Twilight Princess was the best selling game in the series.

I want a Zelda game that shows the journey links takes from being a village boy to a knight in hyrule kingdom. Him with other students in a knight school aiming to be at Zeldas side. The journey before he gets the master sword officially granting the title the chosen hero. A fleshed out kingdom to roam full of people full of life. I want other kingdom to be as big not just a small village. Able to have companions especially like a fairy. I want the story to be semi linear. Botw and totk story was not it for me. I want the build up suspense. But it’s not a suspense when I see a memory later on in the story that makes no sense till I see the other previous memories. I can go on even further but the style of link not being able to show growth before becoming a knight is lacking. Instead of us knowing he has courage, I want to see him make choices instead of him just doing it because he is the embodiment of “courage”. Botw was definitely something new but totk was depressing. It was a sequel but not even close to majoras mask.
Everyones entilted to their own opinion. Twilight princess was actually one of my favorite games I grew up on as a little tike… between the good music to great dungeons and wild link, I’d say that game atleast deserves a 8/10… then again you strike me as someone who considers links awakening their favorite game lmao
I have been playing LoZ since the original NES game. Twilight Princess was the very first 3D Zelda game that I didn't like. I completed the game but for whatever reason it just lacks that same charm that other titles in the series have for me. I'm guessing that I never will learn to like it.
Even though you were a kid then, hearing someone's main issue with a Zelda game being that it had too many dungeons is a new one for me. That is a hot take of hot takes. I can't help but respect it because it's certainly an opinion you came to yourself and I get the feeling of playing a game and just wanting it to be over and not being satisfied unless you beat it. It's just too bad you kinda did it to yourself as a kid since you followed guides and tried to milk the game for all it's worth, but doing that made you hate it cause of its length. Seems like kid you took the fun out of the game for yourself by trying to max it out. That is something I can relate too though, I did the same thing as a kid and even sometimes as an adult, lol. Sometimes it's good to just play a game quickly and be done with it. Especially as a parent now, 4-8 hour experiences are my favorites, since I just don't have the time I used to have for it
When I first played Twilight Princess in 2006-2007, I thought it was better than Ocarina of Time. As the years went on, my feelings changed and re-playing it just recently for the Wii U confirmed that for me. When it comes purely to dungeon design and combat, it has a strong argument for the best Zelda game ever. But it suffers from way too much padding and bloat, leading to some rather poor pacing. It feels like the devs wanted to make the longest Zelda game ever, but didn't quite know how so they just threw in a bunch of backtracking and busy work. The overworld is also quite possibly the blandest and least interesting version of Hyrule. I get that they wanted to create a lot of space for the horse segments, but those parts of the quest are so few and far between it feels kinda pointless. There was also a surprising lack of side-quests apart from just getting heart pieces, light bugs, and poes. And when it comes to the characters and story, I agree 100% how weird it is that characters just kind of come and go. Built like they're supposed to be important only to just then disappear or do nothing of note. Overall, a great game but not without some pretty annoying flaws.
Agree with Ganondorf but really disagree about Zelda. I really enjoy her screen time in this game and it really fits the role of royalty. Actually I like her role in this game much more than when the story is about her, like Tears of the Kindgom.
