in archucad do a test rebuild all sections and elevations and compare the same to intel macbook pro that would actually tell the difference i have ryzen 1600 that take time to rebuild

In my opinion from on what I see, Macbook Air M1 would be great for students, especially the students who *learn* archi softwares, with small projects, obviously. I hope so. Microsoft has been working on their Windows for Arm64. Now they only have a preview version, vectorworks is compatible with it. I keep testing Revit, Solidworks etc as Microsoft release the new Windows update

I want to tell you that AutoCAD Toolsets are only compatible with Windows. Currently M1 Macbook Air/Pro/Mac Mini can't run them. They can run only Original AutoCAD. If you need to use AutoCAD Toolsets, I recommend you to get Windows Laptop or wait for an official support for Windows Installation on M1 Mac product. And If you need Original AutoCAD only, M1 Macbook Pro 13" is a good choice.
What's your budget? It depend on the price. And you need a Windows Laptop with AMD processor, not intel. Intel's been doing horrible work on their processor.

So ArchiCAD runs on a m1 processor? My wife needs a laptop for ArchiCAD. I want to buy her a MacBook Pro m1 with 16 GB ram. Nobody is able to tell me if ArchiCAD will run on this laptop.
It depends, for general usage like web browsing, editing documents etc is good enough. For professional use I’d recommend 16gb if possible. For that you can just 8gb, it’s not end of the world, but more ram is always better for professional uses

Professional gentleman pay for the apps bro. Used to pay instead stealing n cracking the apps from developer. coz developer also have a family to be feed. But its not applicable for microsoft product, go for it! 😛

If that's the case consider M1 Macbook Pro, and also make sure the softwares you use work fine on MacOS.

8GB RAM is enough for now. But if you want to use it for many years I recommend to get 16GB

Make sure the softwares you use is compatible with M1 Macbook Air. Some softwares are not compatible because it's for Windows.
