Omg thank you! I’ve been trying to learn to see for a year now on and off and I was wondering how all of the sewing youtubers get their lines so straight and mine are always so wobbly! Now I know, it was so easy all this time, but no one ever mentioned it, until you did and I’m so thankful for this tutorial you did!
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Camilo Matthias thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A Frixion pen is excellent for marking - I bought felt tipped pens by mistake - they work just as well and in the same way. The pens look different: white shaft with appropriate colour top. Thanks for all your brilliant tips!
This was great. I am trying so hard to learn to sew at 66 and could not figure out why nothing I cut was straight. I thought maybe my scissors were too big.
Hi, thank you for the tip. I had a sewing class yesterday where I pinned my pattern to my fabric and had to cut around it. Let’s just say it was not easy. I kept getting jagged lines and kept pricking myself on the pins. It was not a nice experience!
Hi please can u show how to cut fabric for a top for example, when there is no selvedge, how can u find the straight grain of woven or Jerseys that dont have any selvedge, like on a scrap piece, thanks x
with a woven fabric you can pull at the threads to see the warp and weft to work out where the straight of grain is. As for stretch fabrics it will depend whether it is a 2 way or a 4 way stretch in relation to the pattern if there is one. Simply stretch and see!
good advice but...there is always one person who has a but right...I am right handed and yet I am left eyed ..... in-fact I am legally blind in my right eye so I have gotten very good at cutting my fabric and patterns out as well as holding things in place, all the while looking at the left side of the scissors..... now it is my normal...Like I said always one in the crowd right. But good info...thank you.

Unbelievable - I’ve been sewing for 50 plus years and I’ve never heard that tip before. Thanks Clair.
you are welcome! I am always learning new things
Me again! I forgot to mention that 4B pencils work very well on washable fabrics.

This was super helpful, i didnt realize i was making that mistake when cutting but it makes sense now.

I wondered if the felt versions worked or not I suspect they are much easier than the roller balls.
This was great. I am trying so hard to learn to sew at 66 and could not figure out why nothing I cut was straight. I thought maybe my scissors were too big.
Ah you are welcome.
Very good thank you
So nice of you

I'm glad I could help with some tips. Good luck with your dressmaking lessons
Niw I know why it looks better thank you x
It's a natty tip
Fantastic tips as usual love the tips you give
thanks louise
Frixion pens - felt tips and roller ball - I try to limit the marks to the seam allowance or what will end up inside just to be safe.
Always test your pen before committing on a scrap

I am having a big tidy up, I would love to see some tips on how to organize my sewing supplies.
I'm planning a few vids on that as I am also in the process of spring cleaning and re-organising
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Omg thanks! I couldn't understand why my lines were so jagged!
Glad I could help!
cutting off the left side is a huge tip! i assume you just mirror it for lefties.
yes, and reverse the blade on your rotary cutter so that it becomes a left handed tool
@@BeautifulThingscraftandsewing I think rotary cutters are pretty bad after using one just a bit!!! I cut my pizza with a knife too

Ha Ha well that is an unusual one for sure! We all have to do what works for us
Well, we match! Right eyed, left handed. Using right handed scissors. I always figured it was because I was using my off hand!
