Imagine some future civilization fighting a war against emus because the emus stole a bucket, and the strategy for victory is to make them loose football games.
Glad to see you are getting your voice for videos finally. Videos used to seem awkward but you seem much more fluid in this one. Happy to see you are advancing as a UA-camr.
I think we can all agree that, had that admittedly fine bucket not been stolen during the conflict and kept safe, it likely would've been lost to the ages, robbing us of a wealth of bucket-related knowledge and history. And where would that leave us, huh? In a sorry state, believe you me.
I love how confused Mr. Terry was by all of the bucket references throughout the video. You can just see his mind ticking away going, "How is this at all relevant?"
When talking about corruption in the Catholic church, we tend to focus on major players like bishops and popes. I remember one documentary, however, on the origin of the Robin Hood stories in which they also talked about nuns. More specifically, they talked about how many of the English nunneries were the biggest competition for the brothels.
In 1350 Crimea was the crossroads of every single trade route between Europe and Asia, and in proportion, it was the region that was hit the hardest by the plague.
I am so happy I found this channel! Thank you for adding a history teacher perspective. I have found a love of history and when you upload my day is made.

Showed up for the history, stayed for the Nintendo games. Every three minutes, my eye would lock back onto the cartridges and totally forget what the video was about.
The thing about it being the "Holy Roman Empire" is that people in the Middle Ages believed that if the Roman Empire fell, judgment day would come about. So, since Western Rome fell, and Eastern Rome became Byzantium, the Franks thought they *needed* to become the Roman Empire
I think the person at 2:52 in the foreground without the head is not actually a catholic priest but judging by the clothes more from one of the coptic or orthodox churches.
Big brain time: Bishops and Abbots can be installed by a majority vote of a council consisting of the emperor, the pope, and a number of councilors equally elected by both of the above (let’s say ten, five for each side).
Matilda de Canossa is also a key character regarding the investiture issue. That Dictatus Papae is a way of the Holly See to flip the Kaiser that time. 😂
Actually, Charlemagne was tricked by the Pope on his coronation day. Before him, the emperors would have crowned themselves as they held the power over the Pope by means of military power. That didn't sit well with the Pope of the time, so while Charlemagne knelt to pray the Pope crowned him, giving the impression that he was superior to the emperor. Needless to say, Charlemagne was really pissed at the Pope.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the guy with no hat toward the beginning of the video is a Maronite Catholic, that is, an Eastern Rite (referring to one of several liturgical traditions native to Eastern Europe, Greece, the Middle East, and Africa) Christian church from Lebanon which is in communion with Rome, instead of with Constantinople (Eastern Orthodox) or Alexandria (Oriental Orthodox).
I can't believe nobody mentioned freaking ROMEO AND JULIET. This conflict is the setting of the play. Most people don't know, but that is why the Montagues and Capulets were at war with each other and why Romeo and Juliet couldn't be together. These were actual families in medieval Verona, as was hinted to in the video. The Montagues were Ghibillines, ergo, they were supporters of the Emperor. The Capulets were Guelphs, ergo, supporters of the Pope. It gives historical context to the play and helps to put their conflict into context.

And war agains drug smh
Pigs, too. Three of them thus far.

but those emus were assholes.
Make me feel thankful when I look at wars in internet comments sections and forums.
