It took a few days to get back into the grove. Had a new Nomad 1 Plus waiting for me, and a Puckipuppy Corgi, and I had to pack one bike back up to send back to the factory. Packing a bike back up is not fun.
Looks like you've got some really beautiful bike paths in your area! I'm also loving everything I've seen on the Velotric Discover 2. However, being in Western Canada, with the only purchase options for the Velotric being online, I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger. On paper the VD2 checks ALL the boxes, and you are clearly very comfortable on the bike - but with my not-so-average (lol) proportions I wonder about fitment. At 280 lbs I'm 6'2" with a 32" inseam which equates to a long torso & arms. I know seat height won't be an issue, but am wondering if the cockpit won't feel a little cramped, as the distance between the seat and stem seem fairly close.
Alos check out the video I just released on the Velotric Nomad 1 Plus. This one has an even more comfortable riding position. Although its not a commuter style bike like the Discover 2, it can be used as a commuter bike. I havent taken measurements yet, but it does feel longer then the Discover 2. You can also get a different set of handlebars that are not as swept back so you ca stretch your arms out a bit more.
You were 102 when you got back and I was wearing a sweatshirt and I rode on Sunday and I had to wear a sweatshirt and a jacket it’s a whopping 53° here today
Cadence will drain the battery quicker. I have not done a full cadence battery distance test yet. The ride I did in this video I started with a fully charged battery. The ride was just at 7 miles and I used 16% of the battery when I was done. If this helps.
Very helpful thank you. Have you noticed any anomalies after updating to the latest firmware? Some people were stating strange behavior with the display. Some mention that it defaults to cadence mode every time you turn the bike on. Just want to make sure before I update the firmware that everything works as before - the cadence sensor.

When we rode Monday, I definitely felt extremely dehydrated when we got back Tuesday not as bad and it was hotter Tuesday
Same here. I was drinking water all night when we got back to the hotel to rehydrate, and prepare for the next day.

its 100 here again today. This is northern coastal California, its not supposed to be like this. I am looking forward to some normal Fall weather.
