Romsey &District RMS Exhibition 2024 Part 1

Romsey & District Railway Modellers Society held its 2024 Exhibition over the weekend on 2nd/3rd March. A friendly exhibition that I visited on the Sunday, with a nice variety of layouts on display.

00:40 Kinmundy - EM Gauge - Southampton MRC. A frosty day on a fictitious Scottish branch line in the late steam/early diesel era.
04:15 Ryan's Mill - SM32 Scale - Alan Eadle. A working wood mill and sand excavation and loading in the 1920s/1930s.
11:34 Holly Bank Grove TMD - 00 gauge - Newhaven & District MRC. A running shed south of York running steam & diesel locos.
16:26 Fareford Depot - 00 gauge - Fareham & District MRC. Modern traction from the 1980s to the present day.
19:00 St Izzey - 00 gauge - R&DRMS. Fictitious North Cornwall branch line terminus and goods yard in the late steam/early diesel period.

The playability /operating potential of the saw mill is amazing.

Great fun to watch and video. The sand tipping gantry was scratch built and the operator filling the tippers was pleased that I didn't show how that was done!

SM32 means 16 mm to 1 foot on 32 mm gauge track.
British nomenclature uses the scale followed by the gauge in millimetres to designate narrow gauge. Thus OO9 is 4mm scale with 9 mm gauge and O16.5 is 7mm scale on 16.5 mm gauge.
