Really good to see how far Australian railway modelling has gone. Being from the Netherlands, back in the days I only knew of a few Lima models depicting Australian prototypes, but these were rather crude. Australian modelling is still a fairly unknown thing in Europe, but your news video shows us a lot what is going on now. Over the last years I became quite interested in Aussie railways being spoiled with all these video's of vintage locomotives still doing daily work, and the range of models offered now clearly covers many of these.
Thanks for another great video. The Australian modellers certainly do have an abundance of high quality models available and coming. I was a teenager in the 70's. Not long having migrated from Germany. Australian modelling at that time was mostly possible if you were a good scratch builder. While there has been talk around the world that the model railway hobby is in decline. Seeing the models becoming available. Especially for modern era modellers, I am confident that this great hobby will endure into the future.
What can I say other than thank god SDS prepainted the grilles on that new NR scheme black. Those grilles behind the board on the handrails are the hardest thing to paint well without removing the handrails. Oh and another excellent news vid Will!
Good to see! I am not an Australian modeller, but as a Canadian I like the prototypes offered. Had no idea the A class was another bulldog nosed double cab ended unit, as I was hoping for a re-run of the B class. Glad to see this A class is getting a rerun! Can you please link the info sheets for the new re-run models in the SSR paint schemes, as I cant find them.
Hey mate, the A class is a rebuild of a B class which is why they look so similar and the rerun order forms for the A's aren't up yet which is why you can't find them yet. I'm pretty sure I have seen you on Facebook on the US manufacturers pages if you are who I'm thinking of, (I'm Chris Butchart) so if you like mate will keep my eye out for you and let you know when they are up so you can do your pre-order.
Will, great news report as usual. Some very interesting items coming up. I got some of the Beford Trucks, and the RFB Fire Truck from Scale Model Supply recently, and the details are fantastic, well worth having a look at. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
Nice news update Will. Looking forward to the A class rerun by Auscision along with the S class release. Looking forward to seeing what Paul's 3D Prints has at diamond creek. March is going to be a busy one for me too. - Nicholas.
Great news and updates as always mate. Thanks for taking the time and putting it all together every month. Well done mate. Auscision's Overland cars look great, can't wait for those. Lucky i have already ordered several of them ages ago. 😀😀And the NN wagons from IDR look great too so far, so will have to put an order in sometime
Wonderful Video yet again Will, full of great info from the manufactures that come together in this Video. Bring on the 2024 AMRA Victorian model show can't wait for it to happen
awesome video Will can't wait for the next one. also how can i get to the diamond creek easter exhibition from Bendigo as my father and I would like to attend next year.
Gday Will. love your videos! do you think any of these companies will ever create A South Australian Railways RX Class locos? i have been looking for a kit for ages, do you know where I could find one? keep up with these amazing videos! Kind regards Will :)
Thank you! I certainly hope someone does! Even I'd like one! There used to be a 3D printed dress up kit for the Wombat Models 30T but the person producing them has stopped.
in general we'd all appreciate Australian model manufacturers move to digital store fronts or use the digital store fronts of existing outlets. If manufacturers have a website could they at the verry lest build something that doesn't look like it was put together by a 5 year old in 1995. Like Auscision: - why haven't you got filters for quickly finding similar items? - why is your site still designed to fit a 3/4 CRT? - why do you have images that take up the entire vertical height? - why, oh why is everything a table? do you think it's good design? It's not, you have to spend ages scrolling to find anything.
I disagree, i don’t think most people know how much the tooling and manufacturing costs are, and at the level of quality! Having said that we are also lucky to have manufactures like ARM with a RTR locomotive at sub $300! Also we had a look at prices of locomotives from say 30 years ago with prices adjusted for inflation and they’re still inline, although the quality is considerably higher!

The Bundaberg model railway shows on 23rd and 24th of March 2024, which is held at the multiplex if you would like to put this in the March news 😊
The March news comes out on April 1st so it would be too late I’m afraid! I hope the exhibition goes well!
I saw some running samples of the Y class in Train World Brighton not too long ago and they looked marvellous, the sound was excellent.

Great Video Will!
Great video 🚂
20:55 - seems most, if not all, of the SDS 8300s are marked "not to run in Victoria" so not suitable for the interstate Jet runs?
There’s definitely photos of them running in Victoria with those stickers!
25:43 where did you find that? Great video as always will!
It’s on SSR’s website
@@WillJamesRailways I’ve had a little look, is it under specifications?
