This is super helpful for incoming Columbia Students, I am joining Masters in DataScience, It would also be great if you could make an interview with Masters in DataScience Graduate on topics related to internship search, GRA'S, TA'S, and Full time jobs. Loving this series, keep them coming 🎉
Hi Shivali! This is really helpful for me as an incoming ms cs student in fall '22. Regarding applying for a TA position in my first semester, can I apply to courses in the mathematics department? Or is there a constraint on only engineering courses? Thanks again!
The fee is about $2000 per credit but TA only pays $2500 per SEMESTER. I’f you need complete tuition waiver you should aim for TA fellow. Just TA would only pay $2000

Thanks for watching. Glad it helped! I think all departments have TA positions. RA I’m not sure about!
2500 dollars for 1 credit. But each course holds 3 credtis, so if we TA for such a course, doesn't this make 7500 dollars for being TA of the course?

I contacted a professor for TA positions and they said that these positions are mostly held for Phd students. Is that true?
Yes mostly. Only very few masters students get it
Can you interview a Msc in finance profile ??
will try :) most of my friends have a CS background!
