I guess it was not that popular in Germany, because the anime has no german synchro and was not on TV in germany. i think it wasn´t. I´ve never seen sub anime on german tv. I´ve barely seen any sub on german tv. But mybe I narrowly missed Saiyuki hype in Germany :D

当時父がハマっていて、一緒に見てました、あのころは純粋にかっこいいなぁ、位でしたが今大人になってから改めて見てみると曲のセンスもいいし絵柄もいいし自由さもある、それにCGとかあまりないのにヌルヌル動くところとか感動しました！！
