Sakura (or Tsubasa) couldn't join the group because she knew what they might face if she followed, so in the end she chose to stay and waited for them to come back one day.

Syaoran was kidnapped when the real Sakura was about to die/fully consumed by the black wings(seal of death). Meanwhile, the real Sakura was in the ruins the whole time. The time in the ruins stopped when she was about to be engraved with the seal of death.

Syaoran was kidnapped when the real Sakura was about to die/fully consumed by the black wings(seal of death). Meanwhile, the real Sakura was in the ruins the whole time. The time in the ruins stopped when she was about to be engraved with the seal of death.
