This was the ONLY video that helped me. Several other videos said that this camera could not have live view for any more than 30 minutes! Thank you for knowing the truth.
Hello Lit Curls, thank you for your message. I'm glad I was able to help. Keep sharing and look for more videos to come. Thanks again.
Thank you, great work done
I am surprised there are so many videos about this. IT'S SIMPLE !!

Agreeing with all Comments. I am ecstatic at the fact you covered every minor and important detail that was needed for the entire process. What to be thorough. I have a Nikon D7500 so this was very helpful. Thanks

My camera is a Nikon d7000. Could you tell me which cable I need to buy to connect the camera to the Video Capture device. The D7000 cable has usb connector on one end and the hdmi on the other, but I need a cable with hdmi connectors at both ends. Thank you for a very informative video.
Hi Mark, thank you for your message. The cable you need is the same listed in the description box below - Mini HDMI to HDMI ua-cam.com/video/43r5qEUC0dc/v-deo.html You may find it at amazon - BlueRigger Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable: tiny.cc/oq9eoz

@@mandranderson hi Mark, i would like to ask if you can stream with your D7000 yet and are you using the same cam link 4K capture device card that he recommended in the video? I wanna confirm if it works before I buy it. Thanks😊
@@natsworldUS I haven’t actually done so as yet. However, I was able to connect the camera via the Video Capture device and recommended software as per the video instruction. I haven’t as yet tried to remove the camera data from the screen.
I also have D700 and went thru the hdmi setup but could not find "advance" to turn off the live view. The video for live view duration cannot be set to unlimited, as maximum in the menu was 30 minutes. I'm using the firmware version 105
Hi
Can i use D3500 for live streaming
& what do i need to have
Hi, the model D3500 won't give you unlimited live-view time. These models are limited for live streaming purposes.
I can confirm that you can use a Nikon D600 for Streaming. (I assume that the D610 will work as well, both are cheaper to get than the other full frames).
Didn't turn off after hours and hours of streaming. Use the film live-view and cycle through the "info" button to get rid of all ui-icons. You can still change ISO, focus, etc live.
Obviously set the live view to infinite in the settings and use an akku-power adapter and hdmi mini out cable. The Vitesun power adapter costs 20$, a cheap hdmi-usb adapter 12$, the Cam can do 720P@ 60fps and 1080@30fps, which is plenty for streaming.
Thank you for sharing.
sorry @@redacted5035 only D7000+ or D600 can do that, may be D6000+ as well
Does this work with Nikon D90?
Hi Jason, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, the Nikon D90 wasn't made for long periods of recording nor live streaming. It would overheat. Video recording is limited to 5 minutes in HD and 20 minutes in SD to prevent overheating. An hours long stream would greatly exceed that. I'd say it would be a poor option for a streaming camera, unless you do really short streams. I would suggest watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/DImrEwKMMy8/v-deo.html In this video, I show the best camera options for live streaming for all possible budgets. I hope this helps.
hello sir ı am using face cam live but it is cut off in 50 minütes an 40 minutes ? what should i do to avoid it
Thank you for your message. The time your camera is staying live depends on your model. If it does not support unlimited live view time, you won't extend that time. I'm not quite sure if this is what you are asking, but I hope I was able to help. Thank you.
Hello can I do the for the d7100?
Hello Crystal, the Nikon D7100 can be used for the same purpose, but using Live View for an extended period can harm your camera. The new models, including D7200 and D7500, come with a different sensor helping the camera stay cool during long periods of live view.
Is it essential to use the external microphone? Why not the mic on the camera?
@Innova Leaf Creative Solutions Thanks for the video 👍
Please can you help me with 2 questions? I want to use this as a webcam.
1: Does this have a clean HDMI 'with' the autofocus still working and no face tracking box?
2: Can I use 1080p 60fps with the HDMI out? Canon cameras seem to lock at 30fps via HDMI?
Many thanks 😎
Hi, thank you for your message. I'm assuming you are using a Cannon camera. Most Canon cameras are having issues for live streaming, but they have created a new app where you can access and live stream directly from there and over pass time limit. I'm assuming that by using this app, you will be able to have a clean output for most cameras. The live streaming resolution used does not depend on your camera only, it also depends on the platform you are using. Most platform only allows 1080p at 30fps.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions Hi, I'm interested in the Nikon D7500, does your Nikon do the things in my first post?
Thanks 👍
Hi, battery life in hdmi mode? thanks
Hi Francesco, thanks you for your message. It won't drain your battery faster than your normal time. I suggest to use a dummy battery instead.

Depending of what you are planning of doing. If you are live streaming using UA-cam or Facebook, you don't have to install anything. If you want to create scenes and control better you presentations, you need a third party app such as OBS or Ecamm Live.

Hi Eliabe, thank you for your comment. I'm glad I was able to help.
is it compatible with nikon D5300?
Check their compatibility chart www.elgato.com/en/cam-link/camera-check
Sometimes, the camera is not listed but still is compatible. So, I'll recommend checking first before purchasing the capture card.
Hi sir.. I dont have option to turn off live view icons and focus square on my nikon d5300 camera.. No live video icons off option.
Thank you Malankara for your message. Try pressing the info button. This will probably help you hiding all the icons from the screen. You need to make sure if this camera gives you a clean HDMI output, otherwise, they won't go away. I hope this helps.
This was very helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video, you've a new Sub! The first one I've watched that explains the settings on a Nikon so you don't get a 'cut off' after 10, 20 or 30 mins. I've a D7200 and my menu looks the same as your D7500, for the settings you mentioned anyway. So just to be 100% clear as I was about to purchase another cam, as I thought Nikon's would always shut down after a period of time, with the settings you've mentioned, your D7500 does not shut down and easily used for live streamings (with the other bits of kit mentioned of course).
Hi Carl, thank you for your message as well as your support. Even though both cameras are pretty similar in their settings, I think the Nikon D7200 does not offer unlimited recording times, but up to 30 min depending on your resolution settings. Let me know if it does, so I can confirm my thinking. Thank you again. Stay tuned for more videos.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions The Nikon D7200 does offer unlimited recording time - the settings in this part of the menu are identical to your D7500.

Can I use nikon D90 as a web cam?
Hi Sushmit, thank you for your message. If I'm not mistaken, you may use the model D90 as a webcam by using an app called SparkoCam (Windows only). To use it, you download and install the utility, then plug in and select your camera. When you open a video conferencing app, SparkoCam Video appears in your list of webcams. Perhaps by using this app, you can eliminate the icons from the screen. I hope this can help. Thank you.
Thank you for the video. I have the same Nikon D7500 like yours. If I would like to live stream an event, let say a wedding, which requires the camera to be mobile, is there any wireless transmitter which I can used to transmit the video to the PC? Can you please recommend any gears needed. Thanks.
Hi Helyanti. My apologies for the late reply, but we have been real busy. Yes, there is a wireless option you may use. It is called, Hollyland Mars 400S Pro. Soon I'll make a video about it. Thank you.

Hi Eustace, thank you for your message. Yes, they do. Just look for the specific size you are looking for, and you will be able to find longer wires for you camera.
I have a nikon 5600 can that be used to do livestream on fb??
Hi, thank you for your message. Yes, you may, but it'll only give a max of 30 min of actual live-time before the camera resets itself.

My Nikon was not on the list for the Cam Lik device. It is a Nikon D3100. Is there another choice?
Hello mKm7311. Thank you for your message. Check this video where I show other options aside from the Cam Link 4K ua-cam.com/video/Cup_sPkQbgo/v-deo.html

i have the d5300. it has a time out for 30 minutes and is pretty annoying. i cannot figure out how to make the live view set to "always on" . this model you used allows that but i cannot seem to do it on mine. please help!!!
Hi Obiwan, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, the Nikon models D5000 and below don't provide an extra option for extended or unlimited live view time. Some guys use a hack using a rubber band to keep the shutter button pressed, but that might force the sensor since those cameras were not made for that purpose as the new D7000 and D700 and above. Sorry about that.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions thanks for your reply i appreciate it, i found the aperture button (+/-) resets the timer, and doesnt cause anything to show up on the hdmi output. so i either press it every so often, or im sure the rubber band trick would work without putting extra stress on the shutter
@@obiwanjakobi1415 I hope that solution works for you. Thank you for the update.
does it work for d3500?
Hi, this model won't give you the needed options for live streaming.
Hello Innova Leaf Creative Solutions,
In your video using HDMI to USB
How about using HDMI to displayport and connected to macbook pro mid-2012.
is it works?
Hi Fahrul, thank you for your comment. The connection is from HDMI to the card device. The reason why you can't use a displayport, is because you need a capture card device like the Cam Link 4k to convert the image to the computer. You may try connecting the capture device to the displayport and then make the connection to the computer, but that will bring an extra connection. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Hi @@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions

Hi Genda, thank you for your message. I'm using a Nikon D7500.
Does the Elgato Cam Link 4k work with the Nikon D7200?
It works great with my Nikon D7500, so it should work with your model as well.
Does it work on the d800 ? Wasn’t on the list of being compatible or not..
Hi Carlbricktv, thank you for your message. It should since I also have a Nikon D850 and was not in the list, but works just fine. Those two cameras are pretty similar, so you should not have any issues.
How to charge energy in during Live Streaming?
You need a dummy battery, otherwise, you camera will be drained completely.
Hi! I have everything exactly as you have it. down to the camera! When I open quicktime as you did and select the 4k cam link, the screen is black. I have the switch on the back of the camera at the bottom right pointed to the videocamera. Is there something I am missing? I checked elgato to see if I needed a driver but their website says it doesn't need a driver.
Hi Jonathan, thank you for your message. If you have all your connections ready to go, and have a black screen, there are two options for you to check. First, make sure your camera have HDMI output selected in the settings. The second option is to activate the live view on your camera so it can transfer what the camera is seeing to Quicktime. I hope I was able to help. Thank you.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
Hi I have a nikon d3200, but I can't turn off all the sleep timers, because I can't find the infinity sign and I can't find the off button, can you help me? thanks a lot
Hi Federico, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this model does not offer more than 30 min for unlimited live view mode. There are ways to over pass this like placing a rubber band to maintain the live view button pressed, but it'll overheat the camera. I hope this answer your question. Thank you.

@@federicocultreri8185 if you press the recording button, it'll start recording but not streaming. You may want to hit the record button to record your session, and then post it as a video. Hi Mona, and thank you for your message. If you plan on recording yourself or start doing live streaming, I strongly recommend using an external microphone. The built-in mics in the cameras are the best when recording audio. Remember, audio is so important to keep people engaged too.
Do you have any suggestions for how to best adjust the focus settings for the D3400 for streaming?
The best way to adjust your focus is to make sure your lens auto option is on. If not, use a reference, focus on it and that will be your point for you to stand.
Your video deserves an award. You have explained things very well. One question, how do I remove the red focus square on my camera screen? It shows up on my video when I live stream.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It is much appreciated. What camera you have? If still showing up some features from your camera to your screen, it means your HDMI output is not clean. Gr8 video _ I have a d7100 but it does not give me the HDMI option _ that screen only has "Output resolution" and "Device control".
Also can you record onto the camera's sd card while live streaming?
Hi Courtney, thank you for your message. As per your request, here is the answer to both of your questions:
1. You may need to set the Output Resolution option to a setting other than Auto. When you connect the camera to an HDTV playback, the camera automatically adjusts the HDMI output to your HD display. But when the Live View switch is set to Movie mode, the signal is output according to the selected movie Frame Rate/Frame Size setting.
In order to transfer information from your camera to your computer, make sure you are using a video capture devise. otherwise, you won't be able to convert the signal to your computer.
2. While you are live-streaming, your camera won't allow you to record at the same time. If you want to record yourself, try using a third party app or software to record your computer screen such as OBS Studio, QuickTime, or Ecamm.
I hope I was able to help. Thank you.

I hope I was able to help you, and again thank you for the support. Don't forget to share.
hi jossi i also have the nikon d3200 can you pleas eexplain how you managed to get your system running. on the elgato website it states that the d3200 is incompatible with the camlink
Awesome! Everything I wanted to know. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Hello! I ordered exactly the items you prefere. But in Facebook Lifestream i have no sound. Only rustle with the microfone from Rode. do i have to change settings in the menu of the camera? Do you have an advice for me?
Hello Shabby, thank you for your question. What kind of platform are you using to live stream on Facebook? If you are using Facebook livestream directly, check the connection in your camera that you mic is coming from it. Once you checked that out, make sure that on Facebook, your setting are coming from your camera connected through the video card and not your computer. I hope this helps. Thank you.
I could not get the info display to turn off on the D7000
In some cameras, the items can be hidden by pressing the button i (info). I hope this helps. Thank you.
This video is awesome one thing you forgot to talk about though is that sick ass camera base quick release plate looks thick without being top heavy allowing for better support which I cant say I have on my tripod, what is the name of your quick release base/gimble I'd love to see if I can find one.
Hi Rock, thank you for your message. That's a Manfrotto 502 fluid head: rb.gy/cdgrvi It is amazing and works great when you are having different shots. Good idea to talk about it in one of my videos in the future. Thank you.
Nice thanks
Thank you Russ.
Hello, awesome video but i need some help. there is no option like advanced in my Nikon D5300.There is only output resolution and device control
Hello, thank you for your message. These camera series do not have that option. In some D5000's models, to have clean HDMI output, you must press the info button several times until all the icons have disappeared from the screen. I hope I was able to help. Thank you.
Is it possible to connect a mic to my D7200 and use wifi to connect the camera to my laptop?
Hi Mark, thank you for your message. You can connect a mic to your camera but connecting your camera via WiFi to your computer will only serve as passing your photos, but not live streaming. You need a video card to convert the signal from your camera to your computer.
which camera you used to record this script
really very informative... i will follow your upload vids. thanks
Hi Zenkicks, thank you for your support. More videos coming up soon.
Can I use Nikon D3300 to livestream?
Hi Ali, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this model does not offer more than 30 min for unlimited live view mode. In case you want to start live streaming with this camera you must make sure you have clean HDMI output and unlimited live view mode. There are ways to over pass this, but it'll overheat the camera. I hope this answer your question. Thank you.
Thank you for the info
Any time!
How can I take off info details like battery icon, ISO icon showing on OBS when streaming with the Nikon D5600?
What type of camera did you use for this video, its pretty good
Hi Ongaria Joe, thank you for your message. In order to take off the icons in the screen, in this model, press the info button in the back of the camera until they are gone. I hope I was able to help.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions but focus square doesnt go
hi, question what happened to my d7500, I set it up for live stream, tested it with XSplit and OBS and there is black space to the Left and right of the video around 130px both sides in a 1920x1080 XSplit and OBS. Do you have any idea how to fix it? it must be in my camera but I have no idea how to fix it atm.
Hi SDA, thank you for your message. The reason you are seeing those lines, it is because of the size of your frame. In order to fix that you must make sure not just your camera frame is the same as the software you are using, but that the resolution size in OBS is the same as your video and graphics. In case, you cannot find a solution that way, check this video from my channel where I explain how to enlarge your camera view in OBS to the size of the whole canvas: ua-cam.com/video/ypVdwWNqKJg/v-deo.html
I hope this helps. Thank you.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions thanks a lot innova. your video really helps a lot. I also fixed my problem. I didn't realise that I was testing my device camera on a shooting pics rather than putting it to video shooting.
@@sda-hymnalscover5757 I'm glad I was able to help. Keep sharing and look forward for the next videos.
What firmware on ur d7000?? Bcoz im also used d7000 but when setting wrench-hdmi dont have the "advance" for clear the live view display. Guide me please. 🥴🥴
Hi Syazwan, thank you for your message. I'm not using any extra firmware installed in my camera since I'm using a Nikon D7500. The settings are set to give unlimited live view time and clean HDMI output. In yours, you may want to try to press the info button at the back of the camera.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions hye.. thanks for response.. maybe different features between on model D7000 & D7500..
Hi there, i also owned nikon d 7500 for 2 months but i am stacking ...
i try to connect this device too my laptop lenovo by using mini hdim cable to many way but it is still not work and try to search on youtube as well. i just found your channel today, thanks
one more thing i want to use my nikon d7500 to do the stopmotion with my latop. do you have other way to connect the camera to the laptop instate buying the camlink4k?
Hello BC CAMBO, thank you so much for your message and your inquiries. I'm glad I was able to help you on finding a way to connect your camera to your laptop. As far as the stop motion recording goes, the connection I explain is for doing live streaming online. Unless you are showing your stop motion video online after done, you don't need a connection to do such video. The reason I suggest the Cam Link 4K for your camera/laptop connection, is because you need a video card converter to pass the signal from your camera to your computer. I hope this helps to answer your question.
Innova Leaf Creative Solutions thanks for your answers. So where I can buy this in Australia? And how you buy this items?
@@BcCambo It is my pleasure to help. I think you may be able to buy this equipment directly in their websites or amazon links listed on description box and have them mailed to you. Since, most of those companies are located here in the US, they have to mail everything overseas. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you for this information. I currently own a D7000 with a hacked firmware for clean HDMI output; however, the Live View output is only 720p and the image is cropped (contains black borders which I have to crop in OBS). I'm looking to upgrade to the D7500 since I already own several compatible lenses. Your video confirms the clean output support; however, you do not mention the resolution of the output via HDMI in Live View. Can you confirm the HDMI output resolution on this camera in Live View? Thank you.
Hi David, thank you for your message and your question as well. To answer your question, I would say that the Nikon D7500 is the best Nikon version for live-streaming. It can live-stream up to 4K with the right equipment and using the right software. Try also, on OBS changing the video Bitrate from 2500 to 4000 or 8000. Sometimes, the resolution is affected by how fast your internet connection is, and the settings in your software in connection with your camera. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you. I have a D7000 and was wondering if I could use it. Sounds like many issues and this saves me time not even trying to get it working. Will figure out a different route.
Também estou procurando uma saída 1080 para minha D7000
Pls I need the D7000 firmware for clean HDMI output
Many thanks - Excellent Video !! how do you ensure that the face keeps focused and the camera does not start focusing on the background? Do you use manual focus? I will not have an assistant to control the camera and if the focus is lost during the live presentation it will be a disaster !
Hi Costas, thank you for your message. I personally don't use the auto focus when I'm recording my videos or doing live streaming. Before, I start doing anything, I make sure to focus the area where I'll be located at. If you have help then ask the person to focus on you and then set the shot, if not, place an item that you may focus yourself. That's the best solution. I hope I was able to help. Thank you.
you stream using zoom?
Hi Atlantis, I stream using both Zoom and Ecamm Live. Check this video on how you can incorporate both platforms: ua-cam.com/video/GLyxMaQeRkU/v-deo.html
I love it, just wanted to apply to my dslr nikon 7100
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad this was helpful for you. The good thing about the Nikon D7100 is that it has a clean HDMI output as well. That's what you need when you want to do live-streaming. Check my latest video ua-cam.com/video/NBU_0CBRe0I/v-deo.html in case you want to use a nice app when doing live-streaming. It's going to help you a lot. Good luck.

Currently having overheating issues with my Nikon D610, where after half hour of live streaming the camera turns off even though the LCD live view is set to no limit
Hi Just Artixx, thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that. I have never heard that from this model, but I'm assuming it must be an issue with the sensor being exposed for so long, but again, this is odd on these cameras with unlimited live timers. Try keeping the live view screen off, or open the battery door to let some heat come out. I hope this could help. Try contacting Nikon. Hopefully, they might have a better answer.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions still no luck haha but thanks for the tip

I have D5600 and I am trying to have a clean view while streaming. You mentioned to go to setting>>>HDMI>>>Advanced. I don't have advanced. Do you know how to do it? Thank you
Hi Lee, thank you for your message. When you first connect it up, you might see icons and status displays around the image. You can get rid of those to get a clean live view by pressing the info button on the back of the camera near the viewfinder. Each time you press it, it’ll cycle through a short selection of different versions of the screen, and one of them is a clean video feed with no extra information on-screen. Note that this is not the same as the (i) button further down near the OK button-they don’t do the same thing. I hope this information can help you. Thank you.
@@InnovaLeafCreativeSolutions Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. It worked.
Good evening and thanks for the tutorial. Is possible to turn off live view display info on a D5300? Thanks a lot
Hi Sergio, thank you for your message. As for the clean hdmi output, here what you can do. When you first connect it up, you might see icons and status displays around the image. You can get rid of those to get a clean live view by pressing the info button on the top of the camera near the shutter button. Each time you press it, it’ll cycle through a short selection of different versions of the screen, and one of them is a clean video feed with no extra information on-screen. Note that this is not the same as the (i) button on the back near the viewfinder-they don’t do the same thing. I hope I was able to help. Thank you.
I really thank you for your reply. I tried the solution you propose and the cleanest screen I can obtain is one without the information but with a "-" sign on each side of the screen. I think is a limit of the software, do you agree? Thanks for any other help.
Sergio
can nikon coolpix p1000 use as a camera webcam ?
Hi Willie, thank you for your message and your question. The Nikon Coolpix P1000 does not offer you a clean HDMI output neither a limitless recording time. This being said, this camera is not the right camera to be used as a webcam due to its limitations. I hope I was able to help. Thank you.
Can I record with my camera while the stream is happening? I'm using a Nikon Z6 and want to record my Zoom conversation that I'm having with someone else and I want to be able to have the recording for the raw footage from my camera. I know you can record through Zoom but I think that reduces the quality. Thanks for the your great videos!
Hi Mario, thank you for your message. Yes, most cameras allow you to record while lives streaming at the same time, but maybe you should try a different approach. Try using apps like OBS Studio for PC or Ecamm Live for Mac. These apps can record in HD or 4K depending on your screen resolution and the file is clean and ready to edit. I hope this helps. Thank you again.
Clicked on the link for the capture device and it tried to take me to a dating site. You may want to fix that...
Thank you. I just removed the links for now.
