Thank you so much for your honest share. I have tried to keep a daily planner. It’s so difficult for me. This year alone I’ve spent so much on expensive planners; documenting etc. at first I thought something was wrong with me. Now, recently I just journal or document when I feel like it. Before, I was also documenting “for my family “, at least I told myself this. They really don’t care. So, I also changed my “why” for me and me alone. Thank you for sharing.

It's beautiful to allow yourself to change your why as you change too.

I used to have journals/diary when i was teenager. I wrote feelings, recorded my day & made art in it. But i was so scare someone will read it, so i burn them all 😅 not until recently (in Covid year) i started back planner, diary & art journals. And this time i think i don’t care if someone find them & read it. Tysm for sharing this, Caylee❤ always love your style 🎉

Oh I'm with you. Mine was read and so I burnt it and it stopped me from writing in a journal until 10 +years later when I knew I was in a home surrounded by people who would respect the sacredness of the journal and not read it.
I'm so glad you've gone back to yours.

I've really loved the Take a Note. Still wondering what to use for next year. I like to change things up.

Good to see you back. Planners & journals are just what we want them to be. No rules or regulations. That’s what I like about it. Just do it ,- your style. However, I do wonder what will happen to them when we are gone. I,- have personally decided, but I often wonder if others have thought about it? Carol from California

Hey Carol! Yesssss exactly, we have to make them what WE want them to be, because where else in life do we find so much freedom?
I think about what happens to my journals when my body is gone too. I've told my husband to destroy the written ones (nothing good will come from anyone reading those haha), make a personal decision about the art ones (they are not sentimental, just creative explorations), and keep a few memory keeping ones for my son.
I am totally okay with all of mine being destroyed when I am gone. I make them for me, and for me the value is in the process of it. It's up to those left behind if they would like to keep them. I don't want them sitting on a shelf collecting dust and guilt so I also want to release anyone of the expectation of keeping them.
I have a journal that I keep for my son, I'd like him to have those (but he's also welcome to throw them away at any stage).
I scan in every page of my planners so I have them digitally too. It helps me since I work on my computer all day - then I can easily reference it. It also helps because I don't have space to keep every single journal I've ever made but digitally there is a lot of space.
My best friend died last year and she was a prolific journal writer. I know that her journals have been a great source of comfort to her husband and family, but they have also been tough to read. There's an honesty in our journals that we don't always have beyond the page. My friend would have LOVED to know her journals are being shared with those who love her around the world, left on the bookshelves next to fiction books, her words read for comfort. Personally, I would hate this :)
I guess that in the same way that your journals are so personal to you, just follow your heart with what happens to them once you're gone too.

Where do you buy your journales? Thanks for sharing❤️

I buy Take a Note from them directly, Hobonichi from Stilo e Stile (Italian website), and Moleskines are from Amazon or from a local book store when I bought them in South Africa.
