    I love you! This is your first video that I’ve watched. I found you because I’ve ordered the Common Planner and am looking for some ideas before it arrives tomorrow.
    I’m 32, went to be evaluated for bipolar and instead was diagnosed ADHD in 2018. I also have OCD: always been obsessive but it didn’t become a life-wrecking disorder until the quarantine. I love how open and honest you are about everything you’re going through. I’m not quiet about my diagnoses, but I do try to keep things close to the chest like intrusive thoughts that others just don’t understand or don’t realize how serious they are when you actually have them instead of using it to describe a characteristic of personality. I really appreciate that you describe and SHOW us how you document “voices” and things society feels uncomfortable talking about. I think it will help me a lot to put these things into words that I can physically see, so that I can call them what they are and leave them there when I turn the page.
    I’ve subscribed. I’m here for you and you have given me the reassurance that I’m not alone. Thank you. ❤

      Welcome and thank you! It took a fair number of years before I reached my "open and honest" point. It's had positives and negatives, for sure, but we just have to keep pushing forward to change perceptions and stigma.

    I just found your channel and subscribed. I kind your journal to be a relaxing kind of theme the whole way through so far. I love the use of color for each month and weekly vies. I feel vert insired by how you set up your weekly views and your habit trackers as I found that to be the hardest part for me to figure out how to use in any type of meningful way, especially trying to track my medications, sleep, pain and moods. You've really helped me to figre out how to use my common planner in a more aesthetic and meaningful way that is both functional and "calmly planned" at the same time. Thank you for your honesty in dealing with health and nental illness and sharing how you are using your planner in a way that works for you but has also given me some ideas on how to make better use of mine, especially when trying to explain to various doctors while also being able to show them my daily ups, downs, diet, pain, etc. you are very inspiring and I'm glad I found tour channel.

    An honest mechanic…who’s honest with a lone female customer? Who is this wonder? Where is he? I would go a thousand miles, lol (especially back in the day when I had a very cute, but very unreliable VW Cabrio convertible…literally came off the boat from the factory broken…very cute car, but I can’t handle unreliable cars. Lucky to otherwise have had them!) I really like how well you can experiment with trying different ways to track/list/schedule and then try something different. I get frozen trying to figure out the “perfect” way to have everything…and then I have a ton of blank pages. Working on just putting something on the page…I’m not creating the Sistine Chapel, for the love of the Flying Mary! Getting better and just ‘experimenting’ and letting imperfection be ‘okay.’ (Perfectionism is a terrible thing!) I like your method of sleep tracker with other things in a combined graph and using a combo bar/line graph. That is a good one for me, so thanks!! I like the idea of having goals tied into core values…I always struggled with those sections, and I like the idea of going off core values! That feels more ‘comfortable’ to me, if that makes sense. I also like looking at your planner, like me, you aren’t a beautiful artist (I don’t mean to criticize you, it’s more that you utilize things like tip-ins instead of pulling out watercolors and painting your own amazing scene…which is cool to see someone do, but I have nice handwriting and can utilize white space on a page in a nice way, but stickers and stencils are my friend. P.S. at your age (we’re a similar age) most females went undiagnosed with ADD, particularly if they didn’t have the hyperactive component as a significant issue. The ADD girl who is relatively bright, gets their work done - but often with errors due to ‘speeding through and not reading instructions’, and maybe some issues with talking to friends during class, staring off into space…that may be something the teacher/parents note as ‘improvement areas’ but when there’s two other kids bouncing off the walls all day, the inattentional type of girl with ADD is often overlooked because they aren’t disruptive. I’m the (well, I’m diagnosed now) but long undiagnosed ADD female as well, and the tips can be really helpful (and also to share your own, cause we’ve all developed our own coping methods and different things work for different people.) Interesting stat about the correlation with bipolar and ADD, both would involve pre-frontal cortex activity (or lack thereof) and certainly impulsivity, rapid talking/thoughts would be similar sxs. Thanks for sharing it is really interesting to hear your process and how ‘life’ impacted your planning and is reflected in it, as well as how you react to life events and can reflect back on how what is on the page is a product of that. Thank you for sharing!!

      There are such creatures. I have had an honest mechanic too. I used to go to this guy for over 10 years. He never over charged and my car was always on point.
      Now I have my husband so I don't have to use any mechanic, but there are such creatures. You just have to get lucky I guess.

    I just watched this and was wondering how you came up with each theme related to one of the doors?

    • @bethandbeyond1
      @bethandbeyond1  6 місяців тому

      I start with the color first. I have a color assigned to each month and then I brainstorm what part or parts of the world that color at that time of year inspires and go from there. The printable kit for each month also has a short story to go with it about the world behind that color door.

      @@bethandbeyond1 that is so cool. I have a hard time every month coming up with a theme for the month. I have some art skills and want to make my own but don't want to be stealing someone else's style, if that makes sense. And therefore, having a hard time getting started.
