@ gotcha. Yeah I caught a giant but didn’t know what it was so I threw it back and later on was told it could’ve beat the record. Darn the bad luck lol. I know now that’s for sure. I actually thought it was a snake head that’s why I threw it back. I had 2 break off that were twice the size I had caught. So they’re out there. That was on the Mississippi
We get a couple of bowfins every year-here in Michigan they are scrappers they are fast ha ha a fish is a fish,good times 👍

How deep where you fishing?
On wheeler, when you think your bait is too big...make it twice that size.. Even in winter even with high pressure
World record bowfin is only 21lbs. Did you weight it
