This song always touched me. But, it wasn’t until my dad died that it finally brought me to tears. And it still does now. I tried to talk to my dad about things we did not agree on. It was one-sided. So, when he died, so did my chance to have closure with him. He died almost 12 years ago…. I’m almost there….
Thank you for you wonderful reaction. I must however, at 63 years of age, say I have never blamed the generation before but the generation/s after. The message however is relevant.
@@chrisjamieson3452 I'm the same age and my parent were of that same generation which survived the Great Depress and WWII - and I've ALWAYS been incredibly proud of them.
My father and I were always at odds, sometimes it devolve into punches being thrown. When my dad was 97, my spouse forced me to visit him every Sunday. During that time we laid to rest all our old grudges, and anger. My father died 6 months later, and I can honestly say, I got tell my dad how much I respected and loved him, and apologize for my immature actions. I have no regrets now.
My dad passed in 1980 and this song still gets me to tears.
NWN = No Words Needed. You felt something as we all do. Perfect.
Such a beautiful song, one of my favourites with such a powerful message.
It's impossible not to cry while listening to this song.....
You had the exact reaction you should have had, such an emotional song and presentation.
A timeless masterpiece beautifully written and beautifully performed.
Someone once said that Paul carrack could sing the phonebook and make it sound good! 😁
This is a great song and the message should never be lost! Great choice...as always!
Very deep and thoughtful song with strong messages in every line of lyrics.

Hard to blame the depression era folks. Nothing i went through matched my parents. Especially WW2.
