Hard to say if it's the hardest :). Yes, it's almost double than Zoncolan in lenght, but in Zonco you have the central section of 6 km at 15% average, while this climb has shorter steep sections. And if you have experience in this type of climb, you know how important the length of the steepest sections is. However they are both very tough. I have climbed Zonco and Mangart 5 times, I would like to climb this one too.
nasty pitches especially from helicopter. lutsenko must not be on Strava as the segment is owned/kom by Ben Zwiehoff. too bad some of the top tier won't ride this would have been fun to see it.
@@FloBikesI climbed there yesterday. It usually climbs with a %12-14 slope. Some parts can be %18-20 but not very long. If there is an %8 slope, it is a good reason to be happy.
@@AIiKale I'm weighing up whether to attempt it later this year... please can you tell me if the road has been resurfaced? I believe it was previously gravel for the first half or something but maybe they resurfaced it for the race. Well done, by the way!
Well perhaps not quite 20 all the way but it's very long and only relents from 14 or more rarely, going from sea level to 1860 metre's, and has no equivalent. The other big steep climbs in pro cycling are under half the length.@@AmirBeg451
@@sandydennylives1392 this climb is 10,4% in 18,2 km with a top of 16,9%, tough indeed. Zoncolan is steeper (11,4%), is shorter, only 10,2 km but has a really hard central section of 6 km around 15% and top of 22%.
Until this race, I had no idea that the hardest climb in the world of pro cycling would be located in Turkey!
holda my çay
virtually sea level to around 2000m in one hill!
Totally agree... thought the same thing... brutal!!

@@MicheleGardini Didn't remember the Zonco had 6km at 15%....Think I'd get tired just driving up something like that😓
1:01 what a shot
Wow, that climb looked so steep. Congrats to Lutsenko! Super strong finish to his season.
Bravo Lutsenko! Super win for Kazakhstan 🇰🇿♥️✊🏼
Cudos to all finishers 👊Crazy climb!
this must be the hardest climb of cycling?
18 km at 10% average, insane.
Would love to see some big guys going there next year and attack that climb.
1000 meters of climbing between the 50th and 68th km. 1937 meters of climbing in the last 20km.
How much is grade%???
5.5% average over 18 Km and 9.7% over the last 20 Km.
@@AmirBeg451you can check Ben Zwiehoff's "Babadag gute Berg" ride on Strava
Even longer and steeper than Alto de L'Angliru
Total is 2km uphill, 10% avg. Very hard climb. Babadag mountain in Oludeniz.
Bruuuutal!!!
what an epic climb!! tadej needs to hit these to beat Jonas!
Anyone know what gear they'd be riding on this climb??
How many small paving stones must they have laid?!?!?
I hate climbing but rewarding once you are on the top. 😮
Леша бөлексің🇰🇿
I want to be there climbing!
11053 feet , Mammoth 1989 worlds, then we rode back down , Mike Kennedy fun !
Waiting this next year event for Pogi, Vingo, Rogla, Remco and Kuss battles!
Harder than the Lussari 😂
And Alexey LutsenGOAT
Why?

I was there. Brutal but amazing views.
what gradients did they face?

Damn, what percent gradient is that .
Last 18.4km %10,3 grade average.
Why do they throw empty bottles on road side ?
Normally the fans love to get them!
Eventually, but why did they throw them in the first place ? It weighs nothing, and it is littering, so I don't see the point
Grade is...?
20 plus.
F on the way up, A on the way down.
