I'm the husband/dad/grandfather watching your videos and I am amazed and encouraged by your work ethic! Week after week I watch you truly manage your home and all that needs to happen in order for it to work. Watching your daughter working in the kitchen reminded me of the valuable education you are providing for all of your children. Everything that is being taught to and caught by them will prepare them for life in a way that will set them apart from many other families/children. Kudos to you and your husband on the life that you have provided for your family.
Lavender sugar! Great for tea! Two cups sugar two tablespoons lavender bulbs? (I always guy them) mix together in a pretty jar. Sit for a week! Wonderful!

Could you do a video series with your Daughter who helps you in the Kitchen, showing kids/young adults how to cook the old school way that you do? So many kids/young adults don't have those simple skills these days and it would be very educational for them to "get back to basics", instead of relying on the microwave or delivery services like GrubHub etc., when they have to get their own meals. 🙂
I enjoy your videos very much. I am 73. I used to do many of the household chores you do. Loved to cook, sew, can, garden and enjoy my home/family.

I absolutely love that you subtlely left the background family noises in for this video ❤ My kiddos are no longer that young, and I love the stages we are in, but I can still hear the memory of all the young voices around my home; even while most of my sons sound like grown men and my daughter has moved out on her own. We have been blessed beyond measure ❤
I love hearing all those children in the background. I sure miss mine but thank goodness I have 4 grandchildren who come over and cause chaos!! ❤😊😅

Just made mint chip ice cream last night! I steep 2 cups mint in a cup of heated cream for an hour, strain it and then use it in the recipe. I love it!

Love seeing your children around. Brings back memories of my boys and their friends,(who were always at our house) and my own childhood with 6 siblings and the families of the neighborhood. Oh goodness.. your son holding the chicken brings back the best memories of when my son was young🥹 By the time he was 10 he'd helped his dad build 9 coops, had 2 incubators in his bedroom🥴 and a large bitty box. He raised chickens and would go to the livestock auction almost every sturdy saturday night to sell, sometimes he'd buy different breeds. Rhode Island Reds and Black Americanas were the ones he raised to sell, but he had a different breeds. We also had 2 pet roosters & 6 pet chickens the just ran around the yard. We were in the woods on 40+acres with 3ponds, so he was definitely a "hunting, fishing, pond swimming, animal loving boy" growing up! In the summer he and his cousins & friends could be found at the big pond fishing til it got way to hot, then you'd find them in the middle of it! I think all little boys should at least experience that kind of country life! His friends loved being there and would come stay most every weekend..There were always a crowd any given weekend! Your boys are too cute! I love the metal piece you've made into a pool for them! I love a lemon flavored bread or cake, always loved my sisters made from scratch lemon pound cake with a light glaze. Your little one Peeking over the table at the cake..too cute😄 It Looks Delicious! The creek jumping looks like a blast😁 The T-bones were looking real tasty too! Have A blessed weekend!😊

Lisa, you don’t want to grow edibles close to your old house due to likely soil contamination from the old lead pain that was used on the house. Keep your edible plants in a separate safe garden area.

On simple syrups- if you haven’t tried rosemary syrup in a latte, it’s worth a try, it’s SO good! I think even better than lavender!

Just a little tidbit for you. To keep your Brown Sugar from getting moisture within the container, you have it in, put a half a slice of bread on top of the brown sugar and you will never have a problem again I noticed when you were shopping at Costco. You mentioned that you did not want a large container of brown sugar because of the moisture issue. Good luck. I love your shows.

We have found a new summer salad favourite, a peach, blueberry salad with feta, pickled onion and nuts. With the onions it doesn't really need a dressing but sometimes I add a bit of apple cider vinagrette. Served with sweet and spicy grilled chicken and homemade baguette and you have a perfect summer meal.
I've started experimenting with my sourdough discard sandwich bread recipe. The one with rye mixed in turned out great. Now I just pulled a spelt variation with seeds out of the oven. And for regular sourdough bread I have started to add in some rye as well. Somehow doing that makes for a better result when I make it. Still kind of new to the sourdough.

I love adding freshly chopped mint to my fruit salad. I melon ball cantaloupe, honeydew, add halved strawberries, red grapes and kiwi drizzle with honey. So good. I’m from the Bay Area and I used to get this exact fruit salad from a very famous place in Berkeley CA in the summertime ❤

Loved to hear your tip on growing sage, about it coming back every year; got some this year but grew them in pots indoors but they could have grown better, relocating them to pots along with another pot with lavender outside, and look forward to them growing well.
My kids LOVE lavender simple syrup. We did strawberry tops and lavender the last time we made it and they love it in a glass of milk.
Oh the herb butter sounds amazing and I have the herbs. Also will be trying the lemon bread sounds delicious.

You are truly blessed. I wish women embrace the importance of a stay-at-home mom. I tear up watching your video. When my husband and I were starting a family, I didn't want to stay home. I wanted to pursue my career. After many arguments, I finally have in because I saw how my priorities were destroying my family. Now my family is grown up, and I'm glad my husband didn't give up. It was a privilege to service my family. Enjoy every moment. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

We make a lavender ice cream. I heat it in cream and let it sit until cool amd steeped. Strain it and make ice cream. I also love lavender cake with lemon icing or lemon cake and lavender icing. Using fresh herbs in desserts just adds something special. Salads are amazing with fresh herbs. Basil steeped in sweet oil is awesome for ear aches that always happen during summer swimming with the grandbabies. Just place some on cottonball and put in ear. Infused water is also such a summer treat with all the fresh herbs available.
