Your old format was the best. So wheeling, some cooking, some camping, then explore a town with a nice meal in town. Nice dialogue about each part. I miss these kind of videos.
this channel is DOA. Van channels are for 20 something good looking girls who are "finding" themselves. I unsubbed a while back like others and stop in from time to time. His follow up at the end should have been done two years ago so the comments didnt roast him. That should have be a completely one off video. He owed the channel and the subs that info long ago. He really screwed the pooch when he didn't.
Glad to hear that all is well and that you’re happy with your place in life! Looking forward to your adventures in 2024. Don’t sweat the algorithm, we’ll still be here watching.
Happy to see you back creating new adventures. Nothing wrong with adapting your format and content that works for you. Sure some people will leave because they just wanted the roaming Chris content. But others will come for the weekend or week at a time content. For me the core of venture 4WD was about exploring and experiencing new things. I don’t believe that requires you to live out of a Jeep full time to do.
Chris. Thank you for what you do. Your stile is unique. Don’t stop doing what you do. There are many out there this days. No one has what you have. Best wishes for 2024 and beyond. Regards from NY.
Chris you said you started Venture4WD, as a way to tell your story. I think you did that, and the story you told was about the unknown adventure. And you did it very well. It was produced very well, yet kept that honest, raw feel to it. Your viewership grew as we found this amazing raw adventure. That was your secret formula that you did not know you had when starting Venture4WD. We got to know you, watch your story, and live an adventure most of us will never get to do ourselves. Then in the past two years we got to see your life change, and we are happy that you found what you were ultimately looking for with Shanon, and settling down and putting roots in AZ. But all stories have to end and I think your story of adventure with us has ended. Last year Venture4WD seemed like desperation to just keep revenue coming in. The few “Trips” you did were just day trips around AZ where you live, just like this trip was, and not the true unknown adventure we all came to watch & love from you. When was the last time anyone’s seen Orangie? Your attempt to take old footage and try to make new, was not interesting or inspiring for your core audience. So much so we quit watching the recycled shows and eventually thought you too gave up, as your channel went silent for along time with no explanation. Then you returned with a Land Rover infomercial, and again went silent. Also if you notice I say “We” as myself and several friends followed you and you were a weekly conversation for us. Even a few friends met you at the Overland Expo. We get life changes and no one expects you to not change for the better. But like I said the story you were originally telling us is over, like a good book or TV show, they all end. I get your trying to reinvent the Venture4WD brand, and I wish you the best luck. Maybe it would be better to start over with something new and not try to make it Venture4WD as I’m not sure what you want to do can live up to the reputation and foundation you have built. I already feel like you feel forced to put content out just for the algorithm and revenue the channel made. I will continue to follow you to see what the next few episodes are like and what the direction the channel is going. But I/We can’t guarantee we will stay. I wish you & Shannon all the happiness you deserve and I wish you success in your careers whatever that may be going forward?
100% Agree. I love y'all and your story, but the recent stuff seems too fabricated. I can't get into it. I was never here for the shots of tires going over rocks and campsite reviews. I was here for the idea of just getting out and wandering around, grilling terrible sandwiches, and enjoying that excitement and fear. Not sure what it would take to put that back into the channel, but as a long time viewer, I double dog dare you to travel overseas. Go somewhere weird (I would recommend without a vehicle at first) and just walk around. Take busses. Visit the small towns and rural areas with 0 tourist sites. I have no idea if this would work for your UA-cam career, but I think it would be amazing for you, personally. Best wishes!
Well said, I know he can’t be doing this videos for us. He needs to be doing them for himself. I also think his adventure has (inadvertently?) come to an end. Chris and Orangie made a great team …and I was especially happy to see him coming to Canada and show it off for the rest of the viewers…. I will occasionally drop in and take a look and see what CHRIS is doing because he is honestly a great guy … But I think the final chapter has been written . Bless everyone. It was a great time !
100% agree. Loved the story but it has changed. Chris, I wish you and Shannon the best in your future. I will still follow for a bit, but it's not why I watched. Change is inevitable and I wish you much happiness.
Ya, I don't think you can return to what you had. It might be that you have to reinvent yourself. I'm glad you've grown and are happy now. Good luck and Godspeed to whatever you're future will be.🤠
It is only my opinion that the algorithm is designed for UA-cam's best interest, not necessarily your best interest. There is a difference in your content when you try to conform to what UA-cam wants. Stick with your style and interest, that is what brought us to your channel. Stick to that and your loyal fans will be there including when you do meet and greets
Good to have you back my friend. Adventure is a muddy foot!! You know what they say, there are old drivers and there are bold drivers but there are no old bold drivers. Safe travels, Perry
HI CHRIS & SHANNON 👋 I'LL BE WATCHING 👀 KNOW MATTER WHAT YOU'RE INTO / DOING YOU ALWAYS MAKE IT INTRESTING, AWESOME VIDEO 📹 FOOTAGE , & HISTORY IF THERE IS ANY ! YOU BOTH STAY SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES & NON ADVENTURES 🙏 THANK YOU 😊 🙏 ❤️
So happy to watch you again, your videos help me a lot Chris. Be safe, the beauty of the weather in Arizona, right? Snow, rain, sun, wind... just amazing. You and Shannon are the perfect couple.
Glad to see your happy and that your not stopping, because I will keep watching, loyal fan and looking forward to use the campsites in the future. Hope this will not ever come down. Thank you for keeping us inform. Muck love.
First off ty for the endless hours of relaxation, fun, and dreaming you've provided. Secondly, I'm happy for you. I know what it's like to just want to find yourself, and it's great you have. Enjoy life, you've earned it.
Happy new year and welcome back! I have seen all your videos - From when you were a lean hungry lone wolf looking for meaning and your own territory/pack to now when you have found your new center and happiness - and appreciate you sharing your travels and life with us. Please don't try and appease the algorithm, just be you. There is a lot of content on youtube and there are a lot of creators making travel and overland videos. The reason (to me at least) that you stood out is because your videos and stories are just as much about you as the journey and location. You will settle into a new path forward. Remember when you started you had no path also. May I suggest taking a bulk of time per year (lets say a month) and going old school with a no idea where you are going trip. Take care!
So glad that you are back! I was really concerned that you were having issues.. but holidays make sense.. I was “jonesing” for new content.. rock on Chris!
As a long time follower I'll continue from Ontario, Canada. Kind of envious of your MB camper van. Appears you have found the rear fog light switch....remember your Land Rover?
I like the trajectory of your plan - I think that’s what drew me to the channel to begin with - the joy of what was happening. I think more interaction with the folks watching could bring a different layer of engagement and interest.
Pinal and Gila Counties are beautiful in the winter. There’s a dirt road that cuts west from Dudleyville to state route 79 south of Florence. I’ve always wanted to explore it. Maybe add that to your adventure bucket list? Also, some amazing areas to explore between Globe-Miami and Superior. Finally, our saguaros took a real hit from the heat last summer. Many have toppled over. Be wary of parking next to those saguaros that show a rotting, decomposing necrosis about 3-4 feet from ground level.
Thank you for another Saturday decompression time with one of your great videos. You have build a lot of expertise over time with videography/edition that is supplemented with a wealth of data. It is a great portfolio but the core part for me personally was always the adventure, glad this will be part of the youtube content. Now having said that, honestly, interested people are interesting and you are one of those interesting people so I will watch no matter the algorithm figures is or is not "appealing" :). Being happy is what matters, Happy New Year!
"how to rebuild momentum" ... Trips with the Land Rover or Jeep... Or both? You each take one?! Would love to see more of the Land Rover in action. Either way, what ever you do... Good luck and have fun in 2024!
Hey Chris, GREAT to see you back!!! I'm HIGHLY anticipating 2024's back to your roots adventures!! I'm anticipating getting out on adventures this year and starting out from upstate NY, I'll be referencing yours and Campulance Man's videos to visit relatively nearby destinations as I get my feet wet in the off-roading lifestyle 👍
We have a Hot Logic which is easily our best purchase last year! A little advanced planning, try out some new recipes and you have a hot meal ready for when you stop. Thank you Chris for continuing to be open and honest with your life that you share with us.
This is awesome, looking forward to 2024! They are pretty great! Although eating out of a plastic box for 10+ meals per week for several months straight has gotten OLD. Shannon set us up on these once we realized our kitchen Reno was snowballing into much more extensive and long-terms repairs. Absolutely not a product placement. I am very clear if and when that happens - which is basically never, bar the occasional OK4WD and Sonoran Rovers association.
Good video. Just like the old days when you started. I watched you when you went through Canada. That's why I started to watching you and then I don't know what happened. You bought the Winnebago and it seemed things just went. I don't know where they went to so I stopped watching you. It wasn't the same but now I just got back and I'm finding it. I like where you're going in this series? So yeah good video 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
THANK YOU for making videos this year without caring about "The Almighty Algorithm". Just make them to share what's going on and for fun. I get SO tired of lame videos from other channels who publish sometimes just for the sake of publishing SOMETHING, rather than for the sake of quality and interesting content. There's nothing wrong with missing a week or two here and there. Publish for love, not for a stinkin' algorithm. Thanks again!
Happy New Year Chris, I was watching the opening shot where you could see all that vibration from the roof rack on the Revel, I really like this vehicle and it lead me to thinking, How's it holding up? Like interior cabinetry etc. How often do you go over the vehicle to tighten everything down. I mean if there's anyone out there that pushes this vehicle to the max you'd be at the top of the group. I'm seriously thinking about buying a Revel and watching your videos, it would do anything that I would need it to do. Cheers Aussie.
It’s been rock solid and I haven’t actually gone over anything on the interior to button up. Exceptions being 1. Slide window leaked a bit in heavy rain and 2. we do have some water that gets in the liner above the center “console” so to speak. Impossible to tell whether it’s ingress from the outside, or accumulated condensation. Only happens in extremely humid environments w/ rain
I just updated my tires to - MICKEY THOMPSON LT 275x70Rx18AT - BAJA BOSS - check them out if you get time. $285 per tire plus mounting and tax... 10 ply. Max 80psi. Pretty quiet, smooth ride..
As a long-time viewer of your channel I have to say that the van life videos just don't do it for me. Sure the van is more comfortable but the jeep is just more exciting to watch. Others I've talked to said the exact same thing. Also like you mentioned having a story helps. You're an inspiration ✨️ i will continue watching no matter what, though. Would love to meet you at an oregon overland expo.
Don't lose track of how you started because I've been following you for a while. Phil always changes everything thing up when he gets a new girlfriend and it's not his original story.
Chris, you haven't said anything that wasn't indicated in your videos over the last year. Though I've enjoyed your videos over the last few years, my interests lie in the unusual and the less traveled. I think I've seen enough of the Sonoran desert for now. I would suggest that you expand to showing human interest stories.
What would be GREAT would be for your patron portal NOT to be in ITALIAN... I’m struggling to find my way around, CUTTING and PASTING back and forth to do simple navigation to get access to files I paid for.
Your old format was the best. So wheeling, some cooking, some camping, then explore a town with a nice meal in town. Nice dialogue about each part. I miss these kind of videos.

My favorite videos have been the minimalist adventures especially with the Jeep and Land Rover, and videos dealing with repairs and restoration.
Joy is the point!
Rock on!
Happy to see you back creating new adventures. Nothing wrong with adapting your format and content that works for you. Sure some people will leave because they just wanted the roaming Chris content. More of this! My vote is for extended trips.
Very heartfelt I’m sure. Thank you.
Oh man, I thought we’d lost you! Welcome back! 😅
Can't wait to see more adventures Chris!
Aslong as yourself, shannon are Healthy & Happy is all that truly matters , glad to see your in a good place , life is meant to be lived
The best channel on all of UA-cam is back again
Another year of our guy Chris

GREAT to see you again....let's roll...😂

That mud... WOW
We can’t wait to see the new directions you and Shannon head! Here’s to an awesome 2024!!!!
We’ll be back no matter what you post. Thanks for the update.
It's the right choice. You be you. We'll be watching.

Great job Chris. Still need some more Shannon
Great to see you out and about! I’ll keep watching
Looks like you were out near Roosevelt lake. Enjoy your adventures.
Good to have you back my friend. Adventure is a muddy foot!! You know what they say, there are old drivers and there are bold drivers but there are no old bold drivers. Safe travels, Perry

Thank you so much!
So glad you didn't roll off that cliff when the rear dropped!! And those tires are looking rough!!
It's always great to see your adventures and hear the updates! Keep up the good life Chris!
Good to see ya Chris!
Happy new year 🎉 that van can move lol, the virtual view made me feel like I was there🖐🏽
So happy to watch you again, your videos help me a lot Chris.

Happy New Year 2024 from Athens Greece.
Welcome back, Chris. Say hi to Orangey for me.
yeah you were missed . glad to watch what=ever you put up
Great seeing you out on the trail...I've enjoyed your channel for years and It's interesting to see you test the waters as you evolve the content!
Nice to see new content!
So glad that you are back! I was really concerned that you were having issues.. but holidays make sense.. I was “jonesing” for new content.. rock on Chris!
Good to hear, Chris. You're my hero and inspiration so keep up the good work.
You might check your rear differential cover for leaks after that off road drag. Could tell if you had a diff skid plate or not…
Great video Chris...
Getting back to it.
Happy new year to you and your family...
Hi Shannon
Good to see you back at it Chris. Hope to see you guys at West in May.
Will always watch your videos!
As a long time follower I'll continue from Ontario, Canada. Kind of envious of your MB camper van. Appears you have found the rear fog light switch....remember your Land Rover?
Thanks for sharing your goals 👍Safe travels.
I like the trajectory of your plan - I think that’s what drew me to the channel to begin with - the joy of what was happening. I think more interaction with the folks watching could bring a different layer of engagement and interest.
Long time watcher here: more videos tinkering on the Land Rover and Jeep please!
Pinal and Gila Counties are beautiful in the winter. There’s a dirt road that cuts west from Dudleyville to state route 79 south of Florence. I’ve always wanted to explore it. Love your stuff Chris! Glad to hear you're plans are to continue.
I think you just need a brush cutter attachment for the front of the Winnebago. 4:16 😃
Happy New Year Chris… glad y’all are back!
We or I could see your changing growing and although I will be missing your alone stories I hope you can find a new story.
Thank you for another Saturday decompression time with one of your great videos. You have build a lot of expertise over time with videography/edition that is supplemented with a wealth of data. Happy New Year Chris, looking forward to watching (and learning from) your adventures.
Happy New Years
Epic episode thanks Chris
That food warmer looks like a great addition. I think I'll order one. Looking forward to your adventures in 2024!
We have a Hot Logic which is easily our best purchase last year! A little advanced planning, try out some new recipes and you have a hot meal ready for when you stop. Thank you Chris for continuing to be open and honest with your life that you share with us.
Love the pun in the title. As a Canadian, I had no trouble saying routes right LOL
Maybe look into the Falken Wildpeak as a replacement on the Revel …
🍊 jeep
I really enjoy your videos
Glad you like them!
This is awesome, looking forward to 2024!
Suggestion for the website, maybe there can be an interactive map page or something where it’s one big map of North America to show an overview of your incredible adventures
And maybe the pin can link to any videos in that state or county or I’m not sure how to divide it up but I think a giant map overview can help show the scale of the ongoing adventures
Cheers!
I have a few channels that have grown to monsters and they still do it for one reason. They enjoy what they do and put out high quality content that they would like to watch. They don't do it for the algo, they just do it.
Hey Chris, Happy New Year. If you watch the very beginning of you video the front suspension lower control arm is moving up/down and in/out. Looks like new bushings time. Be careful and be safe on the trails and I look forward to seeing venturing across AZ.
Morning
Check out the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires for the van if you haven’t replaced them yet. Ran them on my Jeep and have had them on my Promaster for several years now with no issues.
Just found out there is a new DuraTrac RT coming out soon also!
Hey Chris, Love had your Revel for a minute now can you show us the level of Arizona Pin Stripes you've aquired?
Glad you are back! And, love those @factormeals! They are great, was that product placement?
They are pretty great! Although eating out of a plastic box for 10+ meals per week for several months straight has gotten OLD. Shannon set us up on these once we realized our kitchen Reno was snowballing into much more extensive and long-terms repairs.
Absolutely not a product placement. I am very clear if and when that happens - which is basically never, bar the occasional OK4WD and Sonoran Rovers association.
Good video. Just like the old days when you started. I watched you when you went through Canada. That's why I started to watching you and then I don't know what happened. More Orangie and primitive campsites, I’m not feeling the vanlife thing at all, but I’ll stick around for now to see what you do. But for how long?
Maybe some ditch lights for night driving?
👍
Happy New Year Chris, I was watching the opening shot where you could see all that vibration from the roof rack on the Revel, I really like this vehicle and it lead me to thinking,
How's it holding up?
Any interest in HAM radio ? Big gathering in Quartzite this coming weekend.
We all know that look of "I could do that... but should I do that." 🤔
I just updated my tires to - MICKEY THOMPSON LT 275x70Rx18AT - BAJA BOSS - check them out if you get time.
Gotta ask - what is the exact height of your van all the way to the highest point (AC?)?
CHRIS belongs in Orangie .
We have chad at LTVL for quarter million dollar van adventures …
Don't lose track of how you started because I've been following you for a while. Phil always changes everything thing up when he gets a new girlfriend and it's not his original story.
More grilled cheese man!
Bring back Orangie !!!!! Miss the JKUR !!
Why aren't you traveling in the jeep? Better for the route!
Chris get back in the orange jeep do the things you was doing back in the day
