    Flemmings right-hand rule confusion: There are two Flemmings hand rule. The left-hand rule and right-hand rule. The left-hand rule is used when an already current carrying wire in a magnetic field experiences a force. This is the case in motors. We pass current through the coil and the force due to field pushes and turns the coil. However in generators, we turn the coil and as a result, electric current is produced. To figure out the direction of this current, we use the right-hand rule.
    Hopefully, this clears the confusion of why we use left-hand rule for Motors and right-hand rule for generators.

    *Wow! Even if nobody will believe, i have searched and searched this thing for a long time. Since my childhood, that how stuff works; ive never came across someone who can explain with such an ease that even a child gets it. Thank you so much. I searched any but all gave book terms and jargons. No one actually knew how the frequency is there in AC. I was hoping to get the answer someday.*
    U know the feeling that when you want to get the answer to your question for years!!! Literally goosebumps!!! Thanks 🙏 today i learned about frequency in electricity.
    I have one more question that bugs me. That how in computers the circuits automates things. Like i know that we program them chips and all. But still, who does the automation? Please point me to the right direction.

      Khan Academy India - English thanks i watched it but it doesn't has what i was looking for.
      *Im not sure about one thing! Who controls these automations in chips? For ex: If i switch on a light bulb. I have to manually flick the switch ON to make it glow.
      But in computers i don't understand how they do it automatically? I want to understand how they do it. Is a something related to the chemicals used in chips or some thermo electarical thing which open and closes the circuit ay a desired temperature???*
      These two questions have bogged me for like ages. You solved one but this second question is driving me nuts. Plz if you can; I would really appreciate that.

    • @KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish
      @KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish  3 роки тому +2

      @@jemsncrystals What do you mean by "do" when you say "how they do it automatically"? Computers require manual input too! You need to turn them on/off, type and double click on stuff you want them to run, etc. I guess you want to know when a program is running, who is, and how is it running that? What exactly is a program, anyway? - These are deep and curious questions that are beyond my domain of expertise, but I can give it a shot.
      Instead of a switch connected to a bulb, imagining 100s of billions of interconnected switches. Imagine turning on/off a switch can cause other switches to turn on/off, which could cause still more switches to turn on/off. This 'domino effect' is what I like to think of what 'running' a program means. So when you turn on the computer, for example, you are manually triggering a few switches, and then the domino effect begins. When it's done, your computer boots up. But again, as I said, take this with a pinch of salt - not an expert here. Do ask more questions! This is interesting!

    I learned this theory 60 years ago; L.H. rule for motors, R.H. rule for generators. As I didn't go on to work in the field I didn't ever fully get to grips with it, and have puzzled with my memory of it over the years. As I see it now, even a D.C. generator generates in A.C., the commutator acting to correct the A.C. to D.C.!
