May God (Jesus Christ The Son, The Father, The Holy Spirit) Our 3 In 1 God The Holy Trinity Bless You Michael, Your Family And Everyone On Earth, In Jesus Name Amen☦️❤️✝️
I'm Greek and have been raised in the Church my whole life. When I was younger I got bored a lot but by researching the faith and watching accounts like this I can't wait to pray, fast, go to confession, attend liturgy, etc. God Bless Y2AM!!! Thank You So Much For These Videos
I'm so happy Y2AM is back with a new series. Be the Bee and the Trench has helped me so much. I'm very excited for this new series on the word. God bless!
I am Greek. Raised in the church. We never prayed together. We never read the Bible together. We didn't learn anything in Sunday School. Was forced to go to church every Sunday and didn't know what was going on. When we asked questions on why we did something, the answer was something like 'It is because we do it or that is the way it is done' . We never got a real answer to our questions as to why. So after 55 years, I still don't pray or read and still have many questions that need to be answered that many cannot answer. No older family members around now to answer those questions.
Indeed, many people were raised that way! I hope the videos on our UA-cam channel help answer some of those questions. You should also feel free to reach out to your local priest. God bless you!
Thank you so much for this, I didn't even know how much I needed it. Not just the series, but the channel. I live in an orthodox country, yet I only meet negativity towards our faith from outsiders and from within. I've been asked questions I simply do not know how to answer, even going as far as telling me orthodox countries are all shit, so our faith must be the reason. This has troubled me deeply, it's more complicated than those people make it out to be, yet it has shaken me greatly. It is true that orthodox folk prefer to go to non-orthodox countries and not the other way around. I've fallen in a very bad mood and began to doubt orthodoxy. Your channel made me feel a little better. Thank you. I'm looking forward this series.
Regarding how all our Orthodox countries face so many issues, the way I've always seen it (which I pray helps you) is that all the problems in our countries show that the powers of darkness truly hate Orthodoxy. If they hate our countries so much more than others, then I'd imagine it's because they hate our faith due to its truth.
Hi Steve, really looking forward to this series and can't wait to share it with my Church group. Be the Bee has helped me as a new convert and thousands more deepen our faith and come to understand and live in the beauty of Orthodoxy. God Bless you and your work on this project! (Maybe you can bring back Sr Vassa for another cameo 😊)
Hi Steve, I have a question for you. So far as I understand, we should love God for Him, not for the benefits of being with Him...? As in I should love God for Who He is, not just because He helps me in my life, or gives me peace, or gives me power to resist temptation, or teaches me morality. Is this correct? If yes, how do I go about that? Thank you
It's a process! And it's the goal of our ascetic life: to begin softening our hearts, by God's grace. It's kind of like we covered here: Be the Bee #107 | Four Ways to Forgive ua-cam.com/video/i8pfuimXIM0/v-deo.html
Hi Y2AM. i am a christian. i have always been but not really. i guess i only have the name. and yes i go to church and wear a dress but often i find myself arguing in my head and hating my pretentiousness and complete lack of knowledge or will to know God besides asking for favors. i also often am fighting with myself trying to convince myself that God is just... to women, and to all races...i wan t to know God and want to start my life clean slate but i dont know where to start, so i need your help. where do I start? what should i do to gain that real love of God and true hurt remembering the cross and living for God and stop questioning everything? what books should i read, what things should I do? i am afraid it wont be easy for me as I wont be able to accept information like new converts with pure heart because i already have doubts on what i know. i am lost, i know Orthodox is the right religion and i would never want to convert to other but i also know i am not doing what is expected of me... so please help!!!!
Thanks for reaching out! This is a hard question to answer without knowing you better. The best thing to do if find a community near you and get to know the parish priest. He can get to know you and offer you better advice than we ever could. If you live in the United States you can use this link: www.assemblyofbishops.org/directories/parishes This is a difficult yet wonderful journey. And we'll add you to our daily prayer list. May God bless you and help you see your next steps!
@@stevenchristoforou1667 thank you so much Steve. this means alot to me. and although I live in Ethiopia and i dont understand how it works in the U.S. i hope to work on it. also my baptism name is 'tirsite Gabriel' so pray for me. and if you guys have any advice on which books to read to help my progress, i would love to know.
@@jedidiahmehari3178 God bless you! I know there are Churches in Ethiopia, I hope you can connect to a parish close to you. The priest there can help more than we can from so far away.
Great idea, is it just weekly reading though. For example, they don't include Revelations in church services (I think). Overtime, could you include the entire New Testament.
The videos are based on the weekly Sunday Gospel and Epistle readings. The real twist is to read them together, in light of each other. You're right, Revelation isn't read during services. If you want to work through the Scripture, one book at a time, I highly recommend "The Whole Counsel of God" podcast: www.ancientfaith.com/podcasts/wholecounsel Fr Stephen also has a great blog of the same name.
Where exactly do we find the videos for the Epistle & Gospel Readings for the coming Sunday? In this video you said that they were released on the 18th. I'll be darned if I can find them on y2am.org Thanks We, of the UOCofUSA, follow the Julian calendar. So, simply subtracting 13 days from the current date puts us on the Julian calendar. For example 21 Sep is a Thursday on the Gregorian but the 8th is a Friday. Thus we'd have to follow the fasting rules for Friday since Thursday is Friday for us.
Great question! Unfortunately we're a little short-staffed at the moment, so we're still working on updating the website. But the readings will be posted in the description under each video.
Yeah. There tends to be more variety with the Epistle (depending on feast days and local attachments to particular saints), but the Gospel readings are in sync most of the time. So, God willing, it'll be of some benefit for everyone!
