Thanks for sharing your in-depth review of the Topo Terraventure 4, Jay. It's great to hear your firsthand experience with these shoes, especially since you got to try them for free. The wide toe box sounds good, because I'm starting to look for one myself, due to some blisters I had this year.... Unfortunately I don't think they are available in Romania at the moment.
Just bought a pair of these and am waiting for them to arrive, I own a pair of mountain racers and have had them since March. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. Hoping for the same experience from the ultraventure 4's ! thanks for the review and looking forward to my 2nd pair of Topos !!
nice review on the topo terraventure 4 I just bought my first pair of topo terraventure 4 trail runners. so far they are very comfortable and handle very well on the trail.
I do think it is a good alternative if you don't mind a 3mm drop instead of zero drop. The upper definitely seems more durable but may not be as breathable as the Lone Peak (I have not had any issues so far) The Terraventure definitely gives more toe protection. Altra improved the grip on the Lone Peak 7, but I would give the Vibram Mega grip on the Topo the nod in that department.
ROFL you hit the nail on the head. Its a damn near perfect shoe, just needs better grip and more durability. Altra has a corner of the shoe market effectively cornered but that segment is starting to bleed away to other options. Will be giving these a try
I've tried on a few topos, and they are fine. Like if I had never worn the lone peak 6 (or the previous models I've owned) I would think they are great shoes. But after trying a new shoe I put my lone peaks on and they just feel like home. This may be the fact that they're actually broken in, but I think it is also because they have the fit nailed down so well. I had a pair of the original terraventures and had an ok experience, but I found the toe curl too aggressive. Will pick up a pair of these and test them out though For me, the bottom line question is this (and I know it varies from person to person): Do you see yourself replacing your lone peaks with the terraventure long term? If not, what's keeping you from making that leap
I have not decided yet if I will replace my lone peaks long term. I still have a lot of life in the lone peak 7's and the Terraventure. Right now, I am enjoying both and just alternating on different runs I am enjoying them both. I will decide when I need to replace them. 😊
Question, I got a 100 this year would like to run in my Luna sandals. But have something in case I can’t do it in the something with a little bit more. Picked up a mnt racer but they didn’t drain at all and this race has River Crossing. Drainage the breathability, and that kind of stuff on the shoes . Contacted topo and they told me these are mostly just hiking shoes that you can run a little.
That is the one complaint I have heard (sometimes) with the MTN Racer. I have the Terraventure and it has a similar feeling upper so it would probably be similar. I have not run trails with water crossings in these shoes to date. I somewhat similar shoe that has worked well for me for drainage has been the Altra Lone Peak. However, it is zero drop, so may not work for you. Altra does sell the Experience Wild with 4mm drop, however, I have no personal experience with its drainage. I had never heard the MTN Racer referred to as mostly a hiking shoe, so I find that interesting.

I am sorry to hear that they are not available in Romania. I am sure you will find another shoe that works well. Thank you for watching, Mihai!

I think you will enjoy the Terraventures if you are a fan of the MTN Racer.
I am also looking forward to seeing the updated Ultra venture 4.
nice review on the topo terraventure 4

I am still a fan of Altra Lone Peaks, but Terraventure 4's are my favorite now.
Thank you for watching!!
Nice looking shoe. I didn't know the history with Vibram. It seems very much like Lone Peak like you mentioned.
I am definitely enjoying the shoes so far.
I'm glad you enjoy the content!
Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing the review
Thank you, Naomi!!
ha, there are so many people who are just looking for a lone peak that doesn't fall apart
