Thank you, subscribed to you because its so difficult to find a reviewer who has wide feet. For running on the road i wear the asics Kayano 31 and they are fantastic and ive bought many and these are the best for the road by far but i recently started trail running and used the kayanos which surprisingly worked really well and it was muddy, didn't slip at all! Ive been reading lots of the topo and altras then seen your review on the altras that you left them and got Topo and watched your first topo video and then seen this one and thought! Im buying them! So literally just bought them, same colour and all 😂 thank you!
Chad whatever that hole is inside your right shoe has nothing to do with a shoe itself but with your hip or leg lenght being either one leg a bit longer or biomechanical movement has to do with it. Otherwise both shoes would be ruined exactly the same way inside. I would visit a physio profesional to check proper position of your legs, feet and hips and what your mobility is like. Nice review of the shoes thank you helped a Lot. I am an Altra user but I see many issues with quality. Lucky I am lightly build 130 pounds so does not effect me as much as heavier folks. I love to look online at older used and worn models just to be aware of different weakness in different models. I think many companys do not desire to truly build a super lasting shoe to last they compromise always on something to keep on sales after some reasonable period. After all they don’t live from shoe production but shoe sales right? If I buy from them every 5 years instead of every let say 1 or 2years what a difference on their revenue it has😮plus they need to constantly “ improve” and change materials cause other companies do around them so to stay in race and not to stay behind😂😂😂
@@jurajbrugos1093 dude, you are correct that my right leg is longer than my left. I just got an assessment done last month showing that. Do you have any advice on how to fix that?
I love the MTN Racer 3. My only issue that my toes hit the the front when going downhill. But I think a if had gone a half size up I wouldn't have this issue. The shoes are responsive, durable, and feel very athletic because of the great lockdown. the combination of midfoot lockdown and wide toebox is just perfect for me.
Same experience, same positive feedback for this shoe. I tossed their insoles and used Superfeet Carbons - they are better drying and more comfortable.
Haha I hava same shoes. Started with Ultraventure 3. Amazing shoe, not happy about grip, but very good durability tho. I wore them out after one summer and 2 hikes (JMT and Koruna Turca 200km long hike in Slovakia). The tip came off but I glued it back. Also, I had same problem with insoles. They wore out in heel area. Never had blisters with Ultraventure 3. I just started with MTN RACER 3 and mega grip vibram sole is much more better. Really looking forward to put more miles on them. Great review.
@@jakub_hulin Thanks for watching! yeah man I’m betting the heel will do the same thing but I’m still happy with the shoe. You got some miles out of that ultraventure!
Thanks man. That means alot coming from you and your awesome reviews! What do you think happened to the brand? I hear they got bought out..seems to have gone downhill after that
@@ChadLubinski yeah, they did - GF corp or something… have gone more mainstream and of course now even losing their “zero drop” concept with their new line, which is fair enough but somehow the quality has dropped and just doesn’t feel like the altra of old. Topo meanwhile have stepped up their game, durability with comfort. Done. 👍 (and thanks)
@@ChadLubinskiHey buddy I always preffer to buy “ vintage” altra models in new to lightly used condition online like superior 2.0 or MT. King 1,5 when today they have model 6 out on superior or maybe even 7. Yesterday I bought superior 4,5 model. Of course with older vintage models even if they just sit in box, glue and certain materials may just not hold propely due to time. So far my strategy on being behind the curve and patient and not wanting and not picking their newest models every year has worked well for me with Altra shoes.😂😂😂 Old models are cheap and last me long time, but soon gone 😢 so I might try Topo and give them a chance👍🍾🎉
Not sure if you mentioned it on the video, im commenting early and half way through the video. :D What's your sizing on your Altra LP vs Topo Mtn Racer?
If you look for sensitivity in your feet MT-4 is the go to from Topo me. Main difference is that doesn't have the same grip as Mtn 3 but with lower stack and lower drop (3mm vs 5) gives you a way better feel of the ground. Doesn't have a rock plate so I would not raccomand that for the most tecnical terrai with a lot of rocks, but when it comes easy trail it gives me the better felling.
How do you find the sizing for topo, how much space should you have in these between end of shoe and end of longest toe? I tried a ten and they felt wide enough by not quite that thumbs width between end toe and shoe - but not sure if that applies so much with the wider toe box? Any guidance would be fantastic! Did you order your usual size, same as Altra? Many thanks 😎
I am curious about what sneakers would you go for to daily walk on concrete and stand for a long time without getting knee pain like you can get from the mayority of none zero drop shoes on the market
I like the Brooks beast Max 23s. Firmer than hokas but super comfortable, work well for wider feet opposed to narrower asics/nike etc. A lot of healthcare workers on their feet really enjoy them.
It’s funny I was talking to somebody that went to the tradeshow and that’s the one thing people would say about Tobo is they need to hire the design team? OK but a lot of brands are really get a real car a good looking shoes now even ultra but looks like they just threw them together and they weren’t designed, and I was told that increased the size and the support of the arch. I ran in the mountain racer too, and that wasn’t too bad, but they said the arch increased.
Durable? I ordered and received a pair of their new Pursuit shoes about 2-weeks ago after so many recommended. Today putting them on and pulling on the laces, the lace loop in the middle pulled completely out the shoe. I won't be buying anymore Topo shoes.

Which hoka show would you recommend for a nurse?
Hoka shoe?
Check out the Clifton LS, great for all-day wear - comfy, stable, grippy, somewhat breatable, highly cushioned, wider than average.
