Very nice! In my opinion, Paul Stanley is the greatest rock stars of all time. His voice is done, but it was SO good, for so long and he's one of the best rhythm guitar players to ever play. He's right up there with Malcolm Young, Izzy Stradlin and Myles Kennedy. That guitar sounds huge! I can't believe it's a Chibanez! Nice pick-up, Marty and great video!
I don't like glamrock at all, but I wouldn't call him one of the best rhythm guitarists of all time, I would say that he was alright, he wasn't playing anything super interesting emotionally or technically, but he was good at keeping time and had some interesting ideas written on his behalf and by him
I love those guitars! Paul Stanley is awesome! Now after getting past the KISS tunes that everyone seems to do with those guitars (we already know they can do that stuff) and hearing other things played on it make it even more killer!
Very cool...just yesterday my wife, daughter, and I were sitting down to play cards and had some music playing in the background. When we were ready to switch I mentioned Kiss and my daughter was like "Kiss is not that good Dad." I explained to her not to judge them for the theatrics but to give the music a chance as it rocks and was the basis for many other bands, including Van Halen, moving forward.....

Whats the fret quality like? I bought a ibanez recently and had to return it due to the frets getting grooves in them from doing bends. No crazy string garage either. I was running a Billy gibbons set. Light gauage.
Just wow of an iconig guitar. Great playing sir. Had a similar (odd) shape once, the Explorer and I could not live with it...I always hit the back spike edge around, could not use regular guitar stand, not really a sitting position play guitar neither.... Is this the same for the PS60 or does it feel more like a regulas shape guitar, more compact?
Cool! When you played the softer stuff, I thought you were gonna play Black Diamond. Lol.. Nice guitar. Makes me want to play my Iceman IC 300, but it needs a setup.
Very cool guitar for a great price! Since you’re on a Kiss kick lately, any chance you could do a lesson on the solo for Larger Than Life? That’s always been one of my favorite Kiss solos even though it was played by Bob Kulick not Ace. I’ve never seen a breakdown of the solo anywhere on UA-cam. Thanks!
I always used to want an Iceman but they were out of production for maybe 15 years. Then J Yelinger of White Zombie brought them back to fame and I tried one out that someone I knew had one that came with a Floyd Rose. I really didn't like the guutar because it didn't allow me to bend notes like the radius of the fretboard was to flat or something. That was in 1996 so I can't exactly remember other then one problem
I don’t think that’s entirely correct. Paul Stanley also brought it back in 1992 with their Revenge album. I don’t know all the details of when or why or with whom production restarted, but I think it’s shortsighted to say that it was because of J. Yeunger, who I don’t think plays in a pro band any more (could be wrong on that) and definitely doesn’t have a signature guitar with anyone (last I checked.). Most people never heard of Yeunger, while everyone knows who Paul Stanley is. In short, Yeunger could sell some guitars at the time because of W. Zombie’s popularity, but he doesn’t play with them any more, and they have never been nearly as popular as in the mid-90s. Thus, I don’t think Yeunger had enough influence, even in ‘96, to steer Ibanez in any direction. For those reasons, I don’t think Ibanez, a guitar giant, brought it back for Yeunger. I do know for a fact that Paul was using them in MTV videos in 1992, however, and that Ibanez received positive feedback, leading to several runs of limited edition Paul Stanley signature guitars guitars before Ibanez ramped up production again of the PS10 in 1995. Also, I have 2 PS10s, one is from ‘95 and the other from ‘18 (although the same body style, an Iceman is different from a PS10, or in the case of this video, a PS60), which have 12” radius fretboard and bend very well. I don’t know what radius the J. Yeunger fretboard was, and I have never played one. However, usually a rounder fretboard will cause strings to choke out when bent, not flatter. So your comment is interesting. Is that what you meant about bending? That the strings would hit the frets if you bent them to far, causing them to mute?
purpleheart grows in abundance especially in the Amazon. Purpleheart is 3.50 per board foot at the local hardwood store with 12/4 x 8ft pieces available. By contrast mahogany was 12.50 per board ft and only available in 5/4 pieces. Walnut was 9.50 per board ft. Since the Obama policy changes, hardwood availability and pricing has gone bananas. Not arguing with you......just was noticing weird hardwood prices and new "rare' hardwoods are now not so rare and woods like mahogany are becoming hard to source. Especially in thicknesses needed to build a guitar.
@@ДмитрийАнатолич-с9э it's well balanced. The guitar is large and needs a large case so be prepared for that. Not just any case or bag will fit. Nothing complex for setup and tuning. Good beginner guitar for sure.
Great playing Marty, and you’ll definitely need to replace those pickups.
