You should try Fatal Stigma on the dagger, it applies a mark that explode after 3 sec deals more damage with stacks of poison, can proc twice with offhand chance can reset its cd , or have aoe, deals more damage to low opponents and can have a bit of range too, i love it
Theory crafting is a good skill to learn. I did it in guild wars 2 for 12 years in the pvp side. Now im heavily enjoying TNL I have many ideas I wanna try and this is one of them. Heavy dot setup 👌
Love players that think outside the box to keep the game fresh and appealing. You mentioned that you wouldn’t need to use knife throwing as you had 20 stacks of injections venom on a mob. Knife throwing reduces healing received and each stack of inject venom poison reduces health regeneration. They are two different types of heal reduction. Just wanted to point that out. Knife throwing is incredibly strong. Keep it up!
My friend and I were actually theory crafting a DoT build not so long ago but we gave up on that idea. So happy to see someone actually decided to make this type of build! Ty for the video!
I've been looking for a good DoT build. I'm using Staff (mostly flame spells and self buffs) and Wand (DoT/Curse/Weaken), I'm sure its not lsomething most Min/Maxers would consider but, I play to have fun and hate the "cookie cutter" builds personally, so glad you posted this!
I've been really enjoying my Wand/Staff build. Ever since I started using a Wand for the Vampiric passive that heals you for the damage you deal to cursed targets, I have to use Wand. All of the builds I've seen always use the skills that gain benefits for standing still for a few seconds or have long cast times which I really don't like. I much prefer to constantly be moving so the pesky melee enemies can't hit me as easily. Also there have been plenty of times where I would go to use a skill that has a long-ish cast time and then either have to dodge out of it or get hit out of it.
rock on lil lady!! I do a dot build in gw2 with my dual pistol and pistol dagger thief. Bleed, terror, confuse, poison, venom etetc etc. MAKE THEM DANCE!!! also look up the book "He who fights with monsters" Pretty much recreated that character
The idea behind darkblighter is to stack the dot effects. Sadly you’re missing a ton of damage because dagger has strong dots as well. One of the big problems with darkblighter is the lack of synergy from passives and support skills. Staff has stronger dot synergy than the class that’s supposed to specialize in it which is something I’m sure will be addressed in the future. I believe if they change this aspect then wand/dagger will be meta. It’s very strong in pvp and decent in pve, so bringing up the pve side will have a massive effect
I made a barkblighter build too but I focused on sleep from wand and burst crit from daggers. More PvP or Pve boss centric, the aoe is really struggling
I agree with most of this except that curse explosion is too good of a skill to not care about imo. Even dark explosion should be something you care about as a DoT build just because it does all the remaining dot damage instantly (or half instantly but keeps the dots up) it's just so core to dots in general I couldn't imagine saying you don't care about the damage Also always enchanting time first, self buffs snapshot, if you were going TfP it makes sense but it's a needless waste of the first ToD damage potential imo. Also knife throw applies heal cut, poison applies health Regen cut (doesn't affect hots) you should ALWAYS be throwing them off cd pretty much especially if you're trying to go pure DoT, otherwise you just get healed on anyway
I tried to make Darklighter work with a dagger mainhand. But the DoT damage doesn't scale well enough. In the time it takes to stack poison/curse. Literally any other non-tank/heal focus build will put out three times the damage. PvP was pointless. As it's all built around burst damage. And while DoT builds are good at stripping tank health over time. As most defensive stats don't seem to affect DoT damage (except evasion for the initial hit, obviously). Most tanks in PvP are sword+shield/wand. And your DoT's will never pose a threat to a templar build. And while the self-sustain was nice in PvE. As I could go into Sanctum and solo a mob with no risk of dying (adds could be an issue). It took too long to kill them solo. And the absolute worst part of running with a wand in a dps build. Was ALWAYS getting kicked from groups for not being a dedicated healer. If I could run with guildies, it was fine. But if there wasn't enough on or we didn't have a healer on. I was stuck healing in sub-optimal gearing (always went OOM). Not to mention, my guild ironically has a surplus of healers. So, I gave up and spec'd into xbow/dag. I can literally press one button and do more AoE damage in three seconds. Than my Dag/Wand could do in a minute. I just can't solo public dungeon mobs anymore. I'd recommend going for 2-piece Mother Nature set for Weakness Duration +7.5sec for Dark Explosion. As well as 2-piece Transcended One set for Cooldown Reduction +7.5%. If you're going to stick with a DoT build like you've presented here. Best of luck to you with Darklighter!
I'm about to make a dual SNS build on a new character wish me luck I want to see how unkillable I can make them (healers be dammed I'll be immortal if it works how I want it to)
It doesn't seem very efficient in terms of damage, as far as the video of the dual wand, it seemed to do more damage,. I was playing with staff and wand with 2200 gear, I got a very good DOT of 310 burn and 340 curse, it was really cool, but the wand skills are visually much cooler to use, really fun
I don't like mainstream builds, I always try to come up with my personal builds, and this is pretty much what I came up with aswell on my own. It is definitely utter garbage. The dps is at best half of any barely decent dps build, it's just depressing to play, you sit around and use 15 skills and a random mage passes by and does the same damage you did in 10seconds with a single hit casually passing by. On the other hand, on dungons people would just kick you or assume you're a healer and you'll have to either switch to a healing preset or be kicked cause the party wiped due to substandard healing. Best care scenario there's another healer and people assume you are a decent dps, and you can get carried in it with your mediocre dps and not very useful side-healing without being completely useless. This game is unbalanced as shit, it's depressing and only makes me want to uninstall considering how much i invested in masteries and gear
I respecced dagger to staff, i now use mostly just staff, wands mainly for the vampiric passive. All is good with the world now, that build was garbage
What do you guys think can be improved?
You should try Fatal Stigma on the dagger, it applies a mark that explode after 3 sec deals more damage with stacks of poison, can proc twice with offhand chance can reset its cd , or have aoe, deals more damage to low opponents and can have a bit of range too, i love it
Fatal stigma can have range to 12m. Look like a good choice for your build
@@Dws974 maybe drop invincible wall for knife throwing idk
@jinxan1808 could you please share that build from one of the build sites just pin it in description plx
Take out fatal sigma for cursed nightmare

More dots! I find it fun to see constant numbers up
Listen I dont care what anyone says! This build seems super fun. Ive been messing with something a little similar!!

i dont build like this but i'm staying for the soothing voice and might attempt this build. thankyou
Really enjoying your build videos so far. I’m waiting patiently for the wand/sns video :)
Just commenting that I love the AC rain music in the background.

Instead of knife throwing, look at fatal insignias skill specialization. It’ll do great damage at a good range.
Love everything about you and your contents, subscribed :)
love your video keep the great work
Does this build work well on the mobile version?
I’m having a lot of mama issue with his build. What should I adjust?
Question: so if your dot can crit, what happens if you crit or heavy attack when you apply a second stack of curse or poison? Are both increased?
I been wanting to do something similar with the great sword I want a death knight kind of build any recommendations
Sns/wand build focused on curse & health?
It has potential but switching from regular poison to lightning would make things a lot easier for multiple targets. Id keep poison for pvp
Any staff and wand pve build?
Is there a link to this build on one of the websites?
This build good for solo pvp?
any support build for dagger/wand?
What are the dots with the most damage between poison, burning and curses?
What traits should i look for in this build mostly?
Crit doesn’t affect dots and heals its heavy attack.

how did you get 55 stats? im level 50 also but my max is 30 only... 😢 am i missing something? does it have to do with gear scores?
